Dalam perhelatan Game Developer Conference 2019 yang digelar di San Fransisco, Amerika Serikat, Google memperlihatkan keseriusannya untuk menggarap industri video game.
Google memperkenalkan layanan cloud gaming bernama Google Stadia .
Ia adalah sebuah layanan yang memungkinkan para pemain untuk bermain game secara streaming.
Dengan kata lain, pemainnya tidak perlu melakukan instalasi file game di perangkat, melainkan cukup streaming seperti YouTube.
Layanan ini pun nantinya akan terintegrasi dengan YouTube sehingga para pemain bisa langsung memainkan game yang diinginkan setelah mereka menonton cuplikan videonya.

Menurut Google, layanan Stadia memang dibuat untuk menarget gamer yang gemar menonton video YouTube.
Pasalnya Google menemukan bahwa konten game di YouTube ditonton selama lebih dari 50 miliar jam selama tahun 2018 lalu.
"Kami ingin menggeser orang dari yang hanya tertarik pada game menjadi bermain game," kata Phil Harrison, Wakil Presiden Google Stadia .

Portarlington train station in Laois was evacuated on Tuesday around 4 pm after a fire broke out in a maintenance workshop, a stone building that runs next to the platform.
Fire brigades from four stations attended the blaze and there has been extensive damage to the roof of the workshop.

Navy officials said Tuesday that an investigation continues into a fire that broke out on board the mine countermeasures ship Devastator last week.
The blaze began about 8 p.m. local time Thursday while the vessel was tied up at the Naval Support Activity Bahrain’s pier but no one was injured, according to a U.S. Naval Forces Central Command release.
Crew members from the ships Sentry, Gladiator, Dextrous and Whirlwind joined Devastor’s sailors to battle the flames, as did members of the base fire department, and it was extinguished about an hour later, officials said.
The Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center and the ship’s superior command — Naval Surface Squadron 5 — continue to assess the damage, spokeswoman Lt. Chloe Morgan told Navy Times.
The Devastator is one of 21 ships deployed to U.S. 5th Fleet, an area that encompasses 2.5 million square miles of water, including the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea and Red Sea.
The vessels also patrol key choke points for the free flow of global commerce such as the Suez Canal, Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al Mandeb Strait at the southern tip of Yemen.
Launched nearly 31 years ago, Devastator is the sixth of 14 Avenger-class mine countermeasures ships.

The Fire Department will get at least one of its requested three new engines following the results of a special town meeting last month, which approved a $750,000 allocation from the town’s fund balance for a new pumper truck.
The new truck will replace one of three department vehicles that have been in service for 25 years or longer and are now selected for replacement.
“There are essentially three apparatus that have been identified as having to replace,” said Fire Chief Paul Januszewski. The three engines were selected for replacement in 2014.
Januszewski said that the department has applied for a FEMA grant that would cover the cost of one truck, and that they hope to hear about the results of their application for that grant by the end of March. The fire department has also allocated $300,000 for a used ladder truck in its proposed 2019 budget.
Repairs to the engines’ systems are becoming more frequent, according to the department.
“The constant maintenance and the constant downtime is impacting our operations,” Januszewski said. “We’re holding off on sending our additional apparatus for more repairs because we can’t have more than, typically, one apparatus out at any given time.”
The Board of Finance (BOF) proposed the $750,000 allocation at its January meeting. Januszewski said that the new vehicle will be built to their specifications. Construction of the vehicle is expected to take 10 to 12 months.
“By doing this now…instead of having to wait, let’s say for the next budget and doing this July or August, we can get a good six months head start on the ordering,” Januszewski said.
The BOF made the decision to purchase the vehicle with the town’s rainy day fund rather than lease it to keep the added cost from affecting the town’s mill rate calculations.
First Selectman and BOF member Mike Freda spoke in favor of the proposal.
“This is why we have a fund balance. This is why we have healthy reserves,” Freda said.
Other citizens and members of the Board of Fire Commissioners defended the proposal. One citizen, Nancy Barrett, spoke in favor of delaying the vote until after the results of the FEMA grant application is returned.
“Why should we pay for a new pumper engine when we might get it for free?” she said. “It is clear that we need to replace aging apparatus, however I think that we should make such a major purchasing decision only when we have all of the best information.”
The fire department’s 2019 budget also calls for funds to hire six additional firefighters to meet a call volume that Januszewski said has increased by a rate of six- to eight percent every year. Januszewski has also suggested that the department would like to hire eight firefighters in addition to the six requested in the budget.
Additional items in the budget would go to purchasing more safety equipment, like bulletproof vests, for firefighters.
The vote to approve the pumper truck purchase passed with no votes in opposition.

LOCK HAVEN — Lock Haven City Council has announced the 2019 Summer Concert Series line up which will include new bands on both the floating stage as well as in Triangle Park.
The floating stage will see approximately five new bands including the rhythm and blues group Uptown Music Collective who will kick off the series on Sunday, June 16.
The Rocky Allen Band, playing Sunday, June 23; RIZE, playing June 30; Cadillac Cats, playing July 7 will also perform for the first time.
Inca, a Santana tribute band, will debut during the series’ only Saturday concert from 5:30 to 8 p.m on Aug. 17, during LH JAMS.
Other bands to take the stage include:
– Rock band The Urge on July 14.
– Dance Party group Into the Spin on July 21.
– Classic rock group Big Daddy Bangers on July 28.
– Classic and new rock band SNUG on Aug. 4.
– Classic rock band Hybrid Ice on Aug. 11.
All concerts will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. with seating available at the J. Doyle Corman Amphitheater.
Four bands/musicians will make their debut at Triangle Park’s Saturday concerts as well.
Classic rock band Flashback; classic rock and R&B artist Robert Richardson, keyboardist for Hybrid Ice; Sugar Valley Community Band and Bak-2-Skool Jazz band; and Lock Haven University President Robert Pignatello will perform.

In other business council:
– Amended the city’s zoning ordinance relating to the location, placement, construction and maintenance of wireless communication towers and antennas.
The Cohen Law Group, of Harrisburg, made the changes which dictate new antennas must be 1,500 feet away from each other and various minor changes to bring the ordinance up to date with state and federal laws, Code Enforcement Officer Cyndi Walker said.
The changes were given favorable review by both the city and county planning commissions.
A motion made by Councilman Joel Long to amend the ordinance was seconded by Councilman Richard Morris and approved through unanimous vote.
– Approved the proposed 2019 Capital Improvement Plan on second reading.
– Approved the sale of vehicles and equipment through municipal sale website municibid.com.
Public Works Director Anthony Stopper said the city has various equipment that is no longer used including lawn mowers, weed eaters, sprayers and one 1975 Mack Firetruck.
Stopper will be working with Fire Chief Robert Neff to find a buyer for the fire truck but the other items will be placed for sale on municibid.com by Monday, March 25, he said.
– Approved a resolution for the 2019 Fair Resolution which is unchanged from last year, City Manager Gregory Wilson said.
Once approved, the resolution will be forwarded to federal and state agencies for approval, Wilson said.
– Awarded a contract for professional mowing of various parks in the city to D.A.D.S. Landscaping of Jersey Shore for $12,090 annually.
The contract will free up public workers to handle maintenance, Stopper said.
– Wilson said the draining of Tidlow Dam for maintenance, scheduled to be completed in 2019, will not begin until after Labor Day.
– Accepted a $2,000 donation from the Sons & Daughters of Italy for the Summer Concert Series.
– Approved a use request of Zindel Park on Aug. 3 by the Northeast Mycological Federal for the 2019 Mushroom Foray.

A Nottingham-based building specialist has secured first place on a facilities management framework covering the East and West Midlands.
J Tomlinson has been appointed to lot two (Hard FM) of the Efficiency East Midlands (EEM) Facilities Management Framework after ranking in first place in two regional sublots with a score of 100 per cent.
The four-year agreement will deliver services to EEM members, with the scope of works including plumbing, heating, fire detection, mechanical and electrical, systems maintenance, electrical testing and lighting protection.
Steve Kirkland, director (repairs and maintenance and facilities management) at J Tomlinson, said: "We are delighted to have been appointed to the EEM Facilities Management framework.
