Pengumuman yang mengejutkan tentang kepergian Minwoo ini disampaikan oleh agensi TOP Media pada hari Senin (26/3/2018) dalam pernyataan resmi mereka. Begini pengumuman duka dari pihak TOP Media seperti dilansir dari Soompi:

Artis kami Minwoo dari 100% meninggalkan kami pada tanggal 25 Maret. Dia ditemukan meninggal tanpa denyut nadi di rumahnya di Gangnam. 911 yang pertama kali tiba di rumahnya mengumumkan kematiannya. Keluarga Minwoo, member 100%, rekan artis di TOP Media, dan staf kami sedang berduka dengan kabar sedih yang tiba-tiba ini. Sebagai member paling tua di grupnya, Minwoo memimpin rekan-rekannya dan benar-benar mencintai penggemar karena dia sosok yang berhati hangat. Pada Senin (26/3/2018) waktu setempat, agensi 100% , TOP Media, melaporkan bahwa Minwoo telah meninggal dunia.

Dia ditemukan dalam keadaan tanpa denyut nadi di rumahnya di Gangnam. Petugas medis telah datang namun kemudian dia dinyatakan telah meninggal.
KOMPAS.com - Kabar duka kembali menaungi jagat musik Korea. Leader boyband 100%, Seo Minwoo , ditemukan tanpa denyut nadi di rumahnya di kawasan Gangnam. Kabar meninggalnya Minwoo diumumkan oleh agensi yang menaungi penyanyi tersebut, TOP Media, lewat sebuah penyataan seperti dikutip dari Soompi, Senin (26/3/2018) .
Agensi yang menaungi 100%, Top Media, mengumumkan penyanyi berusia 33 tahun itu meninggal pada Minggu (25/3/2018). "Kami TOP Media. Kami meminta maaf karena menyampaikan kabar duka. Artis kami Minwoo 100% meninggalkan kita semua pada 25 Maret," agensi tersebut mengumumkan.
Menurut Top Media, saat Minwoo ditemukan di rumahnya di kawasan Gangnam, denyut nadinya sudah tidak ada. Petugas medis yang tiba di rumahnya itu menyatakan Minwoo sudah meninggal. "Keluarga Minwoo, para member 100%, dan rekan-rekan artisnya serta staf TOP Media sangat terpukul dan berduka cita atas kabar duka ini," lanjut TOP Media.
"Sebagai yang tertua di 100%, Minwoo telah memimpin para member dengan baik dan disayangi para fans karena pribadinya yang hangat," kata agensi itu.
TOP Media menyatakan pemakaman Minwoo akan dilaksanakan secara tertutup sesuai keinginan keluarga.
"Kami sangat berduka cita atas kepergian Minwoo," TOP Media mengakhiri pernyataannya.
Sejauh ini tidak ada keterangan tentang penyebab kematian Minwoo.
