SEDANG BERLANGSUNG RB Leipzig Vs Bayern Munchen Final DFB Pokal Bundesliga, Tonton di HP

hanya menghadapi dua tim Bundesliga (Hertha Berlin dan Werder Bremen).

Wajar jika Rangnick terkesan cukup optimistis.

Hasilnya, Bayern mengantongi lima kemenangan.

INITIAL OBSERVATIONS AND ANALYSIS

THE DOUBLE! THEY DID IT! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? In the winter, it seemed like an impossibility, but Kovac has steered this team to a domestic double, the first since Guardiola strolled the sidelines. Every single member of this team contributed this season to get Bayern to this spot, and it was beautiful to watch. Bravo to the men in red. They had to work as hard as ever to get to this point, and they did it.

Fare the well to Rafinha, Ribery, and Robben. The three will depart Bayern after this one, covered in glory. Trophies galore. We will miss you.

More like Robert LewanTORski, am I right?

Celebrate, fans. Celebrate! More analysis is on the way.

86- Ribery comes on for Coman in his farewell appearance.

85- TOR! FC BAYERN! ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI!!! RB LEIPZIG 0-3 BAYERN MUNICH

85- Ribery is up. He’s coming in.

83- The Bayern fans are chanting for Ribery. Surely, Kovac is bringing him on soon.

82- Leipzig brings on Haidara for Konate.

79- TOR! FC BAYERN! KINGSLEY COMAN! RB LEIPZIG 0-2 BAYERN MUNICH!

What a goal by the Frenchman! He brings the ball down with a fake shot in the penalty area with a perfect touch. He rips a shot past Gulacsi for the 2-0 lead. What. A. Goal!

75- Bayern are pushing for the goal to cement this win. Nothing to show for it yet.

73- Arjen Robben comes on for his final appearance in a Bayern jersey, replacing Gnabry. Bayern still lead 1-0.

70- Leipzig brings on Upamecano for Orban.

64- Leipzig brings on Laimer for Adams. Bayern brings on Tolisso for Martinez.

63- Thiago comes close with a header! Gulacsi punches a Gnabry cross right at Thiago who is only a few feet away. He’s not able to prep himself for the header, and it goes wide.

62- What a hit by Hummels! The big man intercepts the ball int the Leipzig half and dribbles toward the Leipzig box. With no defenders going toward him, Hummels rips a shot that Gulacsi has to make a diving save to keep out.

61- Sabitzer hits a low, hard cross, but the ball is easily cleared by Sule. Nothing comes of the corner.

57- Werner almost hits the equalizer, but Sule clears the ball after Neuer is beaten.

56- Bayern has a break, but Lewandowski sends his shot directly into the hands of Gulacsi.

55- Gnabry forces Gulacsi to make a save. Alaba’s cross just misses Lewandowski, but Gnabry forces his way through a defender and forces Gulacsi to make a fall down save.

49- Leipzig come right back down and Werner tries to sneak a shot near post, but Neuer keeps it out. The big goalkeeper is having a great game.

48- WHAT A SAVE BY NEUER! Forsberg breaks free with no Bayern defenders around. He has a clear 40 yard sprint to the Bayern goal, and Neuer comes up with a MASSIVE save to keep Forsberg from scoring. What a save. WOW!

47- The second half started with some fireworks from the Leipzig supporters and from Bayern on the field. Nothing came of it, but Bayern very nearly came close to a second goal on two or three occasions in a 15 second spell.

46- The second half has kicked off.

Halftime analysis and observations

We have to talk about that Neuer save on Poulsen’s header early in the match. When I wrote about the decline of Neuer earlier this season, it was a direct reference to his seemingly newfound inability to make THAT exact save. That save, purely instinctual, is the difference in Bayern falling behind early or holding out to take the lead a little bit later.

Lewandowski’s header was so incredible difficult that he must be praised. That man was in the Leipzig box, had to jump back toward the Bayern penalty area, and still managed to get enough power on the header to beat Gulacsi for the goal. There are very few players in the world that can make the play that Lewandowski did. It was simply brilliant.

Leipzig spent the remainder of the first half sitting further back than they were at the start, failing to apply the same pressure that they did on Bayern early on. This allowed Bayern to grab control of the game and generate a lot more chances. Leipzig are lucky they ended the half only down one goal.

Halftime: RB Leipzig 0-1 Bayern Munich

45- Bayern are peppering Gulacsi’s goal now. There have been several goal line clearances by Leipzig’s defenders in the last few seconds to keep the score 1-0 in favor of Bayern.

42- Coman nearly comes through with a great goal, but Konate makes an incredible header clearance on the goal line to keep the ball out.

35- Since the Bayern goal, Leipzig haven’t adjusted well. They’ve sunk back just a little bit deeper, allowing Bayern to have possession with less pressure on them the instant they receive the ball.

29- TOR! FC BAYERN! ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI!!! RB LEIPZIG 0-1 BAYERN MUNICH

Coman played Alaba on the overlap, and he put in a lofted cross seconds before heading out of bounds. Lewandowski had to jump backwards to the Bayern goal to get a head on it, and he just beats Gulacsi inside the near post. What a header!

24- So far, Leipzig look like the only side capable of creating good chances. Werner looks sure to break out for a 1-v-1 with Neuer, but Kimmich runs him down and slide tackles the ball away.

17- Kimmich makes a crucial strip of Poulsen when the big Dane was teeing up a shot. Leipzig has had the better of the chances so far.

15- Not a lot happening to be honest. Both teams are just kicking the ball around a 20 yard span in midfield.

11- MANUEL NEUER! WHOA! RB Leipzig gets a corner and Poulsen smashes it with his head. Neuer gets a wrist to it and knocks it off the crossbar. What. A. Save. WOW!

8- I’m with INNN here: whoever allowed these teams to wear these uniform combinations needs to be slapped. It’s pretty annoying.

6- Random observations. It’s hard for me to see Lucas Hernandez displacing Niklas Sule in the starting eleven once he’s healthy next season. Mats Hummels has his work cut out for him to keep his spot.

3- Some early action as Gnabry cuts in on his left foot inside the box, but his shot goes just wide of the near post.

1- The ball is rolling in Berlin!

One hour 15 minutes before kickoff: Lineups are out! Exactly as we expected from Niko Kovac:

Well, we’re finally here. One year after losing the DFB Pokal final to Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayern Munich are back and have to face RB Leipzig the domestic double. Last year, it was Niko Kovac who ruined Bayern’s party — he needs to make up for it with a win.

As far as the lineup is concerned, there’s not too much ambiguity as to who will start. Leon Goretzka may be injured, but all the usual suspects — Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Joshua Kimmich, etc. are fit and ready to go. If Kovac needs extra firepower off the bench, he has Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, and James Rodriguez on standby.

However, this still promises to be a difficult game. Why? Well, aside from the fact that Leipzig are one of the best teams in Germany (and arguably a tougher nut to crack than Borussia Dortmund), Bayern have been incredibly awful in every single DFB Pokal game they’ve played this season. Whether it be a team from the 4th division or a proper Bundesliga contender, the team has always made Pokal games into nerve-wracking affairs.

Hopefully, this game will turn out better, but it doesn’t matter how stressful the win is so long as it comes eventually. We want this trophy.

It’s Bayern time.

RB Leipzig 0 — 3 Bayern Munich

(Lewandowski 29' + 85', Coman 78')

Bayern Munich faced a lot of questions going into the German Cup final. But perhaps the biggest was whether it was wise to bring Manuel Neuer back into goal after his difficult season and his injury troubles.

Neuer answered this after just 10 minutes, raising up a right hand to palm away a close-range header from Yussuf Poulsen. RB Leipzig couldn't have known it at the time, but this would prove one of their few clear-cut chances all night. Neuer was on hand again right after half time to deny Emil Forsberg in a one-on-one.

"I would have ideally liked to play a game before this one. But you couldn't have scripted it better," Bayern's 33-year-old keeper and captain told ARD after the game.

Leipzig had the upper hand for most of the first half, but struggled to convert their dominance into chances.

Lethal Lewandowski makes the difference

Bayern, meanwhile, were merciless — none more so than their lethal number 9 Robert Lewandowski. The Pole's first goal was one of the toughest headers imaginable, off balance and falling away from goal, but he placed it well out of Robert Gulasci's reach. In the dying minutes, he showed his goal-poaching instincts, pouncing on a defensive error by Dayot Upamecano and coolly chipping Gulasci to put the result beyond doubt.

As an added bonus the Pole's brace moved him up to seven goals in the German Cup this season, making him the competition's top scorer at Pierre-Michel Lasogga's expense.

Kinglsey Coman, influential in creating Lewandowski's first, scored one of his own in style late in the second half. This demonstrated that Kovac's had the right answer to another difficult pre-game question. Rather than honoring club heroes Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, Kovac opted for youth on the flanks, starting Coman and Serge Gnabry. In the second half, with the game decided, then the renowned "Robbery" duo came on to replace their successors on the wings.

Coman was involved in creating the first, and scored the second all by himself

Domestic double for Bayern, no first trophy for RB

Having secured the league on the last day, Niko Kovac can now claim a domestic double in his first season in charge. It's Bayern's 19th Cup triumph, from just 23 final appearances, and their 12th domestic double. But in a telling sign that not everything has gone right on Säbener Strasse this season, star defender of recent years Jerome Boateng watched the entire final from the bench and then did not join his teammates as they celebrated in Berlin's Olympiastadion. Expect him to wear a different jersey next season.

RB Leipzig's first major trophy will not come in the new franchise's first decade as the new force in German football — but you get the feeling there may not be long to wait.

RB Leipzig will hope that incoming coach Julian Nagelsmann can take them to the next level

--------------------

As it happened:

FULL TIME. Bayern Munich win the 2019 German Cup, their 19th, and secure the domestic double in Niko Kovac's first season in charge. Hands up who would have predicted that in November!

90+3' Sabitzer blasts the ball into the wall. That is probably that.

90+3' Some brave late attacks from Leipzig as they seek a consolation goal. Now, a free kick in shooting distance might prove their last best chance.

86' Franck Ribery subs on for Coman. A French farewell replaces the French future.

85' GOAL! Lewandowski again. A long Bayern clearance puts Upamecano in a tough spot and the Pole pounces, winning the ball and racing clear. Lewansdowski waits and watches Gulasci as he approaches goal, picking his moment to lift the ball over the onrushing goalie with his weaker left foot. World class finish, even if he never should have had the chance in the first place.

85' Hello, Francky! Ribery warming up on the touch line. Coman likely to make way. And now he can.

80' GOAL STANDS, 2-0 Bayern. No VAR overrule.

79' Phew, hang on... That goal has gone to VAR for a review. Lewandowski may have fouled Leipzig's Konate off the ball.

78' GOAL! Kingsley Coman! Does that wrap it up? Joshua Kimmich's cross takes a big deflection and Koman reacts first to the loose ball. His first touch both brings the ball under control and takes the last man out of the equation, then he finishes emphatically with his left.

73' Arjen Robben comes on for Bayern, replacing Gnabry. Surely, SURELY, Ribery is next?

70' Bayern recently brough Corentin Tolisso on, for his first game since September, to replace Javi Martinez. Now Leipzig bring on Upamecano for Willi Orban. This frees Leipzig up to move to a back three and go for broke, with Halstenberg taking up a more advanced position in wide midfield.

66' Mats Hummels blocks a fierce Forsberg shot with his jaw bone. That's going to leave a bruise.

63' Now it's Thomas Müller having a pop from distance. Shot blazes high and wide.

Better luck next time, Thomas...

62' Mats Hummels strolls forward, Leipzig watch him advance without reacting. Hummels decides why not, and pulls the trigger, but Gulasci saves. Seconds later, Gulasci is in action again, deflecting a cross from the right into the path of Gnabry, who heads off target from close range.

57' End-to-end stuff here! Now it's Niklas Süle clearing off the line for Bayern Munich, denying Werner.

56' Robert Lewandowski pulls the trigger after a promising Bayern move. However, not only does Gulasci gather up the ball with ease, it later transpires that the linesman had raised his flag; the goal would not have counted.

50' Bayern's fans have taken the opportunity to protest against the DFB (the German FA) with banners reading "Scheiss DFB" and another pointing out that the cheapest ticket for the final was 60 euros ($67).

48' Another top save from Neuer. Emil Forsberg clean through on goal after a great ball from Konate. One heavy touch approaching the goal lets the Swede down. Neuer charges out and deflects the ball first with his leg and then his arm, putting the ball behind for a corner.

He's been out for months, but Neuer's rolled back the years in the final

46' The ball's rolling again.

HT analysis: Leipzig dominated much of the opening half hour, creating one clear-cut chance. Bayern then had the upper hand for the last 15 minutes, carving out about half a dozen scoring chances. Attacking efficiency has so far been the main difference on the pitch. Even Lewandowski's goal, an exceedingly difficult placed header while falling away from the goal, was an example of making the most out of only half a chance. Ralf Rangnick and co. may find some half-time solace in Bayern's defensive fragility over the course of this season; clean sheets have not been the Bavarians' forte.

HALF TIME.

44' All hands to the pump in Leipzig's penalty area! Lewandowski nearly adds a second after build-up work from Müller and Gnabry. Moments later, from the ensuing short corner routine, Mats Hummels makes contact with a low cross from Müller but Gulasci saves. Rangnick and Leipzig might at one point have felt aggrieved to be trailing; now, 1-0 is looking charitable as half time approaches.

42' Off the line! Konate to the rescue for Leipzig. Mats Hummels springs the offside trap, sending Kingsley Coman clean through. Koman rounds Gulasci and fires the ball goalwards, only for Konate to sprint back in front of goal and head the ball to safety. That could, probably should, have been 2-0.

32' Leipzig had looked in complete control for most of the first half hour. Then the Bundesliga's deadliest player of the decade struck.

29' GOAL! Robert Lewandowski! Bayern overload the left flank. Kingsley Coman waits for support from Alaba on the overlap and feeds the Austrian. Alaba's cross left Lewandowski with a lot of work to do. Jumping away from goal to reach the ball, he redirects it calmly past Peter Gulasci at his near post. Lewandowski, with six, is now the joint-top goal-scorer in the Cup.

Peter Gulasci had no chance in Leipzig's goal

24' Timo Werner set free down the inside left channel. Neither Hummels nor Süle in central defense have the pace to deal with that for Bayern. But cue Joshua Kimmich, who rescues the situation with a perfectly-timed slide tackle.

21' Leipzig have probably had more of the ball and territorial supremacy of late. Ralf Rangnick, eying his second German Cup as a coach, looking satisfied on the sideline.

11' What reflexes from Manuel Neuer to deny Yussuf Poulsen. The man who was a doubt with injury before the game, with many calling for Sven Ulreich to start in his stead, gets a glove to a close-range Poulsen header from a corner. He palms it up and over the bar, Bayern can breathe again.

Manuel Neuer's right hand to the rescue against Poulsen

5' Bayern in red shirts, white shorts and white socks — Leipzig in white shirts, red shorts and red socks. Honestly, it's a tad confusing at first glance, even for the teams themselves, it seems!

3' First chance to Serge Gnabry down the right flank. He makes space for himself in the box and fires wide with his left foot.

KICK OFF!

+++All times in Central European Summer Time (GMT +2)+++

19:55 Players on the pitch, flags waving, it's that time.

19:50 T-minus 10 minutes! There's another award up for grabs in the final, perhaps. Hamburg's Pierre-Michel Lasogga is currently top scorer in the DFB Pokal with six goals. He can't improve on that tally, but Robert Lewandowski (the bookmakers' favorite to score first tonight) has five to his name, so far...

19:15 It's a short run to the German Cup final, just five matches for the top teams, in a country that makes sure its sides don't overload with fixtures. We've taken a look at how each team made it this far. If you're expecting a dominant romp to the final from Bayern, think again. Remember them shipping four goals against lower league Heidenheim?

19:09 Leipzig's team is out in the mean time too. As you'd expect it's brimming with attacking options, with Yussuf Poulsen, Timo Werner, Kevin Kampl, Marcel Sabitzer and Emil Forsberg all in the first XI.

18:52 The team sheets are out. Bayern's outgoing stars Ribery and Robben both start on the bench, with the next generation of Gnabry and Coman on the flanks. But don't be surprised if the "Robbery" tag team is on the pitch before the evening's done:

18:42 There's 78 minutes to go until kick off at 8 p.m. local time in Berlin. Expect starting lineups from both sides shortly. Will Bayern start both Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben for their big send-off?

18:25 Another statistic in Bayern Munich's favor tonight is their hit-rate in the cup final itself. Bayern have won the competition 18 times, despite only reaching the final on 22 occasions. Can Leipzig add a fifth defeat to their tally?

18:09 Niko Kovac's career DFB Pokal record as a coach is pretty stunning. In 17 games, he has 16 wins, three of them in penalty shootouts. That's led to three finals in three years; the sole defeat (so far, at least) was at Dortmund's hands in the 2017 final.

Meanwhile, the competition's English language account has a simple message for tonight's competitors:

17:48 Also noteworthy in Saturday's final is Franck Ribery's farewell after 12 years with Bayern Munich. The furious Frenchman would surely love to cap his swansong with a goal and yet another piece of silverware.

17:45 Bayern Munich's Niko Kovac could win back-to-back German Cups, having thwarted his future employers last season with Eintracht Frankfurt. Yet, bizarrely, the domestic double might still prove too little for Bayern to stick with their coach, after a challenging first season in charge. Matt Pearson has more:

German Cup: Niko Kovac could make history but still have no future

17:20 Welcome to our rolling coverage of the 2019 German Cup final in Berlin. RB Leipzig are hoping to celebrate their 10th anniversary with their first piece of top-tier silverware. Now there's just the small matter of beating the Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich to claim the trophy.

Robert Lewandowski scored twice as Bayern Munich beat RB Leipzig 3-0 in the DFB Cup final on Saturday to win the competition for the first time since 2016, sealing a domestic double following their Bundesliga title triumph last week.

RB Leipzig 0-3 Bayern Munich

Goals: 0-1 (Lewandowski 29'), 0-2 (Coman 78'), 0-3 (Lewandowski 85')

It did not look like such an outcome was on the cards initially, as Leipzig were the better team from the outset and their high pressing caused Bayern serious problems in their efforts to build from the back. Yussuf Poulsen had the first chance of the game when he met Marcel Halstenberg's corner from the left, but Manuel Neuer somehow made a point-blank save, with the help of the crossbar, to keep the ball out. Poulsen and Timo Werner were subsequently denied clear opportunities by last-ditch tackles from Joshua Kimmich, before Bayern broke the deadlock against the run of play when Lewandowski wrong-footed Peter Gulacsi with a superb header from David Alaba's cross. Niko Kovac's side finished the half strongly and by the time the whistle blew for the interval, Leipzig were somewhat fortunate to only be a goal down.

Die Roten Bullen very nearly made amends early in the second half when Emil Forsberg was sent clean through on goal by Ibrahima Konate, but the Swedish attacker could not get the better of Neuer when one-on-one. The next big chance also fell Leipzig's way when an untimely slip from Alaba allowed Werner to shoot from 10 yards out, but Niklas Süle was able to clear off the line. They proved to be costly misses for Ralf Rangnick's men, as Bayern were far more clinical with their next sight of goal. There appeared to be little danger when Kimmich's deflected pass looped high into the Leipzig penalty area, but a sublime piece of skill from Kingsley Coman took him past Lucas Klostermann before he rifled the ball high into the net. With Leipzig committing men forward in search of a late goal, Lewandowski delivered the knockout blow when he muscled Dayot Upamecano off a long ball forward before delicately dinking a finish over Gulacsi to seal Bayern's 19th DFB Cup triumph.

Match stats

Lewandowski finished as the competition's top scorer on seven goals, one ahead of Hamburg’s Pierre-Michael Lasogga.

In doing so, he became the first player in history to finish as top scorer in three consecutive seasons.

The Polish striker is now the all-time top scorer in DFB Cup finals with six, surpassing Gerd Müller on five.

Leipzig played in their very first DFB Cup final.

Kovac has won 17 of his 18 cup matches as a coach. He lifted the trophy last season with Frankfurt against Bayern, only losing the 2017 final against Dortmund.

He became the first coach since Felix Magath in 2005 and 2006 to win back-to-back DFB Cups. He is also the first man ever to win a league and cup double as both a player and coach in German football.

AS IT HAPPENED

FULL TIME!

That's it! Bayern Munich have won their 19th DFB Cup thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman. RB Leipzig were worthy finalists but could not resist the Bavarians' attacking talent.

90' +3 LOOKING FOR LEGENDS

The Bayern players are clearly looking to play Robben or Ribery in for one last goal for the club.

87' ONE LAST ROBBERY

For their final change, Bayern have brought on Franck Ribery for one last runout in the famous red shirt. Coman is the man to make way.

85’ IT'S THREE!

Lewandowski has his second on the night and the result is all but certain. Kampl loses the ball far up the field and it's cleared perfectly into the path of the Bayern striker. Upamecano does his best to put him off his run but loses out in the challenge. Lewandowski keeps his cool and lifts the ball over Gulasci.

81' KONATE MAKES WAY

Leipzig have made their last change with Ibrahima Konate leaving the field, replaced by Amadou Haidara.

78’ WHAT A GOAL!

Bayern get their second. A crossfield ball from Kimmich is deflected by Konate, but only as far as Kingsley Coman. The young Frenchman takes one touch to control it and then switches the ball to his left foot before powering it into the back of the net.

73' ROBBEN ENTERS THE FRAY

Nico Kovac has turned to Arjen Robben with his second change. Serge Gnabry makes way for the veteran attacker making his final appearance in a Bayern shirt.

70’ SECOND CHANGE FOR LEIPZIG

Dalot Upamecano comes on for captain Willi Orban.

68' JUST HIGH AND WIDE!

Lewandowski nearly has his second and he rises highest in the box to meet a cross from the right. He gets his head to it, but it sails just over and wide of the goal frame.

65’ FIRST SUBSTITUTIONS

Both coaches are making changes. For Leipzig, Tyler Adams makes way for Konrad Laimer. And Corentin Tolisso comes on to replace Javi Martinez for Bayern.

62’ BIG CHANCE MISSED!

Leipzig have looked strong in attack, but Bayern have threatened twice in quick succession. First, a shot from distance by Hummels drew a strong save from Gulasci, and now Thiago will be asking questions of himself after putting a header wide of the mark when the goal was wide open.

55’ BAYERN CHANCE

Lewandowski nearly makes it two! A long ball from the back releases the Poland striker and he turns inside from the left to set himself for the shot. Gulasci is alert, however, and gathers well at his near post.

48’ NEARLY THE EQUALISER!

Emil Forsberg nearly has Leipzig on level terms. The Swedish forward was released by a clever pass from Konate and raced forward towards Neuer’s goal. The Germany keeper has been out injured, but you wouldn’t know it, as his reflexes are sharp as ever and he did brilliantly to turn the ball past the upright.

46’ HERE WE GO AGAIN!

The second half is underway in Berlin! Bayern will be looking to hold onto and extend their lead, whereas Leipzig will be trying to recapture the same energy they started the match with and strike back. No matter what happens, the next 45 minutes promise to be very exciting!

HALF TIME

The whistle blows and the first half is at an end. Though they made a bright start to the match, Leipzig will probably be happy to return to the dressing room. In the final stages of the half, Bayern were relentless and could have scored twice. Just a single goal separates the sides at the break, but there is a feeling in the air that more are to come.

45’ TWO MINUTES OF ADDED TIME

The referee’s assistant has indicated that two minutes will be played before half time.

42’ SAVED OFF THE LINE!

Konate is the hero for Leipzig! Mats Hummels evaded the pressure from two Leipzig attackers and strode into midfield. His long pass split the defence and found Coman in behind but onside. The speedy forward raced past Gulasci and fired on goal. The young French defender’s head was the only thing preventing a devastating second goal.

40’ BAYERN IN CONTROL

That opening goal seems to have given Bayern a little bit of extra confidence. They’re putting passes together well and are looking dangerous with every move. When they do lose the ball, however, Leipzig are still very much a threat.

29' BAYERN BREAK THE DEADLOCK

Lewandowski is now the competition's joint top scorer for 2018/2019! Bayern string together some lovely passing that ends with the ball at Alaba's feet out wide on the left. His cross is perfectly delivered onto the striker's forehead and lands in the back of the net. Game on!

24' END-TO-END STUFF

The match is being played at a frantic pace and we have seen chances at both ends. Leipzig are continuously a threat on the counter attack and are looking to break at speed any chance they get.

17' NEARLY THROUGH ON GOAL!

It's Poulsen again! The Leipzig man makes a nice run through the centre and is nearly one-on-one with Neuer, only for Kimmich to come to the rescue and clear the danger.

11' GOALMOUTH SCRAMBLE!

Leipzig are asking some serious questions of Bayern and have the game's best chance so far. Poulsen directs a header on target from a corner, but Neuer is there to get a hand on it and direct it onto the bar.

WHO WILL BE THIS YEAR’S TOP SCORER?

Not only will we soon have a new champion, but this is the last chance for someone to claim the title of top scorer in this year’s DFB Cup. Currently, no Leipzig or Bayern player leads the standings. That honour currently belongs to Hamburg’s Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who has six. Robert Lewandowski has five, and Leipzig’s top scorer is Timo Werner, with three. Will that change by full-time?

3' FIRST ATTEMPT!

Serge Gnabry has the game's first shot, but it goes just wide of Gulasci's goal.

KICK-OFF!

Leipzig get the ball rolling and we are underway!

TYLER ADAMS: LEIPZIG'S GOOD LUCK CHARM?

Ralf Rangnick has put his faith in 20-year-old American Tyler Adams. The midfielder, who returned to the side on the final day of the Bundesliga season after an injury-enforced absence, starts the match at the heart of the Red Bulls' line-up. This could be a good omen: Aside from the dead rubber against Werder Bremen on Matchday 34, Leipzig are unbeaten with him in the side!

TWENTY MINUTES TO GO

RB Leipzig have named arguably their strongest line-up and will be hard to break down. Manuel Neuer returns in goal for Bayern, and Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are on the bench. The two could make their final appearances in Bayern colours tonight. Can they repeat the trick of grabbing a goal apiece as they did in the final match of the Bundesliga season?

FANS MAKING THEIR WAY IN

The Olympiastadion in Berlin is open for business and fans of both teams are beginning to file in and find their seats. The Cup is already on the pitch, waiting to greet them. Hertha Berlin’s 74000-seat home ground is Germany’s largest stadium and has hosted the DFB Cup final every year since 1985.

TWO OUT OF THREE FOR KOVAC?

Today marks Nico Kovac’s third DFB Cup final appearance in a row. In 2017, Kovac was in the dugout for Eintracht Frankfurt when they lost 2-1 to Thomas Tuchel’s Borussia Dortmund. Last year, Kovac avenged that defeat by guiding Frankfurt to a 3-1 triumph over Bayern Munich. Will today see him win a second final in a row in dramatic fashion against his former club?

FIRST TIMERS vs. ALL TIMERS

This is RB Leipzig’s first appearance in the DFB Cup final. Last season, they made only made it as far as the second round before being knocked out by Bayern 5:6 on penalties. The Bavarians’ run last season saw them go all the way to the Final. While they lost the match 3-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt, the 2018 showpiece was Bayern’s 22nd DFB Cup final appearance, of which they’ve won 18, more than any other team.

HEAD-TO-HEAD: ADVANTAGE BAYERN

This will be just the eighth meeting between these teams. Bayern won the first four games - including a 5-4 penalty shootout victory in the DFB Cup second round in 2017/18 - before Leipzig recorded their first and only triumph over the Reds on 18 March 2018, goals from Naby Keita and Timo Werner giving them a 2-1 win.

This season, Bayern took all three points on home turf, but the teams drew 0-0 when they met on Matchday 33 just a couple of weeks ago.

HUMMELS: "LEIPZIG ALWAYS HAVE A GOOD TACTICAL APPROACH"

Bayern defender Mats Hummels, who is expected to start at centre-back alongside Niklas Süle today, has given his thoughts on the game, telling FCBTV: "The desire and motivation to win the cup for a second time personally – and first since joining Bayern – are huge. The mood in the team is obviously very good, especially in light of the recent weeks and months and because we won the Bundesliga title.

"We've been very committed and focused in our training all week. Leipzig always have a good tactical approach, be it their closing down all over the pitch or the slightly more measured but very compact style they have now. They also have a lot of individual quality."

Min 45. Min 35. El abrazo del gol. #MiaSanMia pic.twitter.com/X8StW2TpQC ? FC Bayern München (@FCBayern) 25 de mayo de 2019 Min 33 . Qué bien Orban despejando a córner. 19.50. A mojarse, amigos. ¿Quién va a ganar esto? 19.49 . 19.32 . Aquí el once del RB Leipzig: Gulacsi; Klostermann, Konaté, Orban, Halstenberg; Forsberg, Kampl, Adams; Sabitzer; Werner, Poulsen.
