Tottenham Vs Brighton, Pochettino Tidak Ingin Fokus Timnya Terpecah

Spurs masih menyisakan lima laga Liga Inggris.

TOTTENHAM 0-0 BRIGHTON Tottenham XI: Lloris, Rose, Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Wanyama, Eriksen, Alli, Moura, Son, Llorente Brighton XI: Ryan, Bernardo, Duffy, Dunk, Stephens, Bissouma, Montoya, Gross, Jahanbakhsh, Locadia, Andone Son Heung-min, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Lucas Moura and Fernando Llorente all start Brighton make six changes to the side that drew at Wolves. Jahanbakhsh, Locadia and Andone start Shane Long scores fastest ever Premier League goal against Watford - seven seconds

TOTTENHAM 0-0 BRIGHTON 54: Brighton can’t get out! Chris Hughton’s side are pinned back inside their final third with Spurs carving out plenty of nearly moments. Wanyama is urged to shoot by the home fans… who wish he hadn’t obliged.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

51: More urgency from Spurs. Posh must have given them quite a stern talking to. Christian Eriksen smashes one from distance before Danny Rose flicks one miles over the crossbar. Spurs fans sounding impatient too. Booing Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan every time he takes goal kick. 48: Ey up! Brighton left-back Bernardo embarks on a barnstorming surge forward and nearly breaks through the entire Tottenham midfield before Christian Eriksen drags him down. That’s a booking for the Dane. TOTTENHAM 0-0 BRIGHTON 45: And we’re back underway folks. No changes for either side - which is obviously surprising seeing goal-machine Vincent Janssen is among the substitutes.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

TOTTENHAM 0-0 BRIGHTON HT: And that was the last chance of the half. Spurs dominating but Brighton are well up for the fight. Goalless at the break. 45: Unbelievable! Dele Alli plucks a floated cross out of the sky and shoots in the same, fluid motion. Ryan makes a reflex save and Duffy is on the line for good measure. 99 times out of 100 that’s a goal. 43: Spurs still trying to tip-toe their way through Brighton, but it’s not really clicked for Pochettino’s side. Bit too slow in the build-up and that’s allowed Brighton to keep their shape. 40: Florin Andone - you lucky, lucky boy. The Brighton forward makes another bad challenge on Rose and should really be shown a second yellow. Chris Kavanagh gives him a final ticking off, much to the annoyance of the Spurs faithful. Superb challenge. Toby Alderweireld loses possession and Brighton quickly counter. Danny Rose sprints back and slides in to win the ball back from Andone.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

37: Penalty appeal! Lewis Dunk and Son Heung-min are hanging off each other when challenging for Dele Alli’s lofted pass. Referee Chris Kavanagh isn’t interested. The slight threat of excitement quickly extinguished. Block! Lucas Moura goes for a cheeky low curler beyond Ryan but Dunk is there with a signature block to prevent Dele from tapping in at the back post. 35: No booking?! Montoya cynically swipes at Moura down the channel and referee Chris Kavanagh decides a warning is enough. Terrible free-kick from Eriksen flies straight to Ryan. A few moments later Andone is booked for basically the same offence.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

33: Jan Vertonghen lines one up from 30-yards out… I think you probably know how that went. In other, slightly more interesting news, Zac Efron has been pictured in the stands tonight. You know Sky Sports are getting desperate when they fill time celebrity spotting during a fixture. Still… bloody handsome fella. 30: Half-hour gone… no goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Just the one clear-cut chance falling to Jan Vertonghen. It’s not been a classic. 28: Crafty! You don’t see quick free-kicks much these days but Spurs were a Lewis Dunk leg away from executing one perfectly. Bissouma hacks down Son on the edge of the penalty area and while the Brighton players complain - Son pings it over to Lucas Moura. Dunk blocks.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

25: Now official from Premier League: Shane Long scored after 7.69 seconds for fastest-ever Premier League goal. I promise that’s the last I’ll mention it. 24: Brighton having a bit of joy down the left channel as Bissouma wins a third corner for the visitors. Dunk and Duffy trundle up… punch! Lloris clears the ball whilst skimming Dunk’s face with a steady punch. 21: How’s it not gone in?! Eriksen’s drilled free-kick pings off three defenders before falling to Vertonghen. His strike is blocked before Ryan claws it away. Dictionary definition of a goalmouth scramble. 20: Christian Eriksen takes his second strike from distance. Plenty of time to pull the trigger but squeezing it through tons of bodies is proving difficult. Locadia fouls Rose just outside the penalty area after attempting a needless, useless piece of skill. Could be dangerous with Eriksen stood over it…

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

17: Woof! Victor Wanyama with an odd decision. He’s back to defend a Brighton free-kick and blasts it wildly over his own crossbar. It’ll be a corner to the visitors, but it’s being played because Dele Alli appears to have picked up an injury. Anyway, after some on-field treatment he’s running again and the corner is headed over by Lewis Dunk. 14: Quite straightforward tactics being employed by Spurs this evening. Lucas Moura is hugging that right touchline and delivering cross after cross for Fernando Llorente. Dunk and Duffy have won all the battles thus far. 11: Opta, who are in charge of the official Premier League stopwatch, have changed their minds about the Shane Long goal. It’s now been timed at 7 seconds - which is still he fastest Premier League goal ever recorded.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

8: No real drama here in North London as Brighton continue to disrupt Tottenham’s rhythm. We saw Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton booked for wasting time last night - I suspect Ryan could be in for the same treatment tonight. He’s taking years. 6: Just realised that Shane Long goal has dethroned Tottenham’s Ledley King, who previously held the record for scoring after 10 seconds against Bradford. Sorry Ledley. 3: Spurs bossing possession in the early stages with Llorente glancing a free-kick over the crossbar. Early indications are that Brighton will hunker down with 11 behind the ball. 1: Wow. Southampton have taken the lead inside SIX seconds against Watford through Shane Long. Not sure what aspect of that sentence if more surprising. Shane Long scoring, eight-second goal or Southampton winning… TOTTENHAM 0-0 BRIGHTON 1: Ready? Good. We’re underway on a pleasant evening in London. Not too much sun but it’s still light with a bit of help from the billion floodlights in here.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Five-minute warning 19:40: Right then, enough waffle from me. We’re nearly underway at this spectacular stadium. Time for me to embarrass myself by trying to predict the score. I’ll go for a 4-0 Spurs win. Sorry Brighton fans, but if you set up like you did against Wolves then there’s no chance you’re holding out. Fully prepared to look like a fool… The new stadium… 19:35: Chris Hughton, who spent over two decades as a player at Tottenham, said he was looking forward to playing at the new White Hart Lane stadium which opened this month. "I was there all in all for 27 years and I have lots of memories as a player and as a coach," Hughton said. "I'm looking forward to going there. How much I'll enjoy it will be down to the performance the team put in but I'm hoping I can enjoy it."

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

We’re not downing tools 19:30: Brighton players cannot be accused of not caring about retaining their Premier League status, says Chris Hughton. "I don't think anybody could accuse a group of players at Wolves on Saturday of it not meaning enough or downing tools," Hughton said. "Absolutely that's not the case. "We're a team of our level playing in the Premier League and, up until probably the last month or so, we've been in a decent enough position in the league. "Probably our poorest period came at the worst time, but that happens when you're playing in a division as difficult as this one and when you are the level of club that we are.”

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Twitter round-up Tom: Poch’s approach seems clear: win tonight and Saturday and we should be able to prioritise the 2 Ajax games either side of Bournemouth. Danny: Even with all our injuries that’s a strong attacking team and surely good enough for goals and a win. Callum: The state of our bench is really starting to concern me for the Champions League run in. Gets worse and worse each game. Tonight’s Spurs subs: Gazzaniga, Sanchez, Janssen, Dier, Foyth, Davies, Skipp.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Not thinking about Ajax… 19:20: Tottenham are focused solely on tonight’s clash with Brighton and not on their Champions League semi-final against Ajax, Mauricio Pochettino says. Of course you are, Mauricio! I’m fully focused on tonight’s blog but It doesn’t mean I’m not thinking about the impending rollocking I’ll receive for watching Game of Thrones instead of hoovering. "We are not thinking of Ajax," Pochettino said. "We showed at Manchester City that we're thinking in the 'today' and that competition, the Premier League. "Now our energy is in Brighton. It's so clear that we have two objectives, one is to be in the top four at the end of the season and the other is to beat Ajax. "But we need to go step-by-step, the players know it. I think the behaviour and the mentality is perfect."

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Transfer, transfer, transfer… 19:15: Everyone’s favourite subject with the season coming to a close. Juventus are ready to do battle with Tottenham this summer in the hunt for Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon. The 18-year-old is certain to leave Craven Cottage this summer, with the club’s relegation from the Premier League confirmed three weeks ago. Fulham though want around £40million for the teenager, who has been brought back into the side by caretaker manager Scott Parker in recent games after an up and down season, and has shone in the wins over Everton and Bournemouth. Tottenham have been tracking Sessegnon for some time and are favourites to land the winger with manager Mauricio Pochettino a big fan, but Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a player who will have only one year on his contract when this campaign ends. However, Italian giants Juventus, keen to bring fresh blood into an ageing side which won the Serie A title at the weekend/

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Team News 19:10: Tottenham named an attacking side for their Premier League clash with Brighton. Son Heung-min, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Lucas Moura and Fernando Llorente were all included in the Spurs starting XI. Captain Hugo Lloris recovered from a slight muscle injury to start. Brighton made six changes to the side that drew at Wolves, with Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Jurgen Locadia and Florin Andone among those that came in.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Watford vs Southampton 19:05: And the other Premier League line-ups. Good news for Fantasy Football managers with Gerard Deulofeu starting again. Watford: Foster, Janmaat, Kabasele, Cathcart, Masina, Doucoure, Capoue, Hughes, Pereyra, Deulofeu, Gray. Southampton: Gunn, Bednarek, Stephens, Yoshida, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Hojbjerg, Bertrand, Redmond, Armstrong, Long. Phew… 19:00: None of Tottenham’s last 67 Premier League games have ended 0-0 – the longest such current run in the division and Spurs’ longest ever run without a goalless draw in the competition. But did you see Brighton against Wolves over the weekend? Zzzzzzz…

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Twitter round-up Rob: Bloke next to me on the bus up Tottenham High Road is on the phone telling his mate that, despite being very wealthy, owning multiple cars and staying in the best hotels, he doesn't mind taking the bus to Spurs because it "keeps your feet on the ground". James: Vincent Janssen on the bench… what a time to be alive! Luke: I’m happy with the team but fernando Llorente has to drop deeper to allow Son and Moura to stay high... that’s where the danger is and when Llorente was up top against Manchester City second half we lost the threat of Lucas and Son. I’d like to hear more about this individual, Rob.

What’s on… 18:50: So plenty at stake in both Premier League matches this evening. Spurs vs Brighton will have an impact on the race for Champions League qualification. It could also leave Cardiff struggling even further in 18th position. Watford vs Southampton could affect the weird and wonderful battle for seventh, who should see a Europa League spot up for grabs. Everton currently occupy the spot but a win for Watford could see them leapfrog Marco Silva’s side… which I’d imagine they’ll flippin’ love.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Starting XI… 18:45: And here are the line-ups. Son and Lucas make the starting XI with Fernando Llorente leading the line. Tottenham XI: Lloris, Rose, Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Wanyama, Eriksen, Alli, Moura, Son, Llorente. Subs: Gazzaniga, Sanchez, Janssen, Dier, Foyth, Davies, Skipp. Brighton XI: Ryan, Bernardo, Duffy, Dunk, Stephens, Bissouma, Montoya, Gross, Jahanbakhsh, Locadia, Andone. Subs: Button, Bong, Kayal, Balogun, Murray, March, Burn.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Twitter round-up Ben: Brighton at home, it’s a banker, points in the bag! I hate all this rubbish. This is exactly the type of game that we lose when we are expected to win. We are Spurs after all. We should win, right?! Tim: Tottenham have lost two games in the space of just 72 hours and the club still remain third in the Premier League with top-four in their hands and also have a Champions League semi-final to look forward to… Had worse weeks. Alex: Arrived at the stadium two hours early again! Another big game, for both sides, I think we’ll have to work hard to break Brighton down. I suspect they’ll come for the draw and try to keep us out. Just gotta grind em down.

The standings… 18:35: So where are these two at? Chris Hughton’s Brighton sit three points above the relegation zone but have endured a severe dip in form in 2019, winning only two of their last 14 league games to fall from 13th to 17th in the standings. Brighton have also failed to score in their last five league matches, including the 0-0 draw at Wolves on Saturday. As previously mentioned, Tottenham maintained their grip on third position despite a 1-0 defeat at Manchester City after Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all failed to collect maximum points over the weekend. Spurs are currently third, level on points with Chelsea having played a game less. They are also a single point ahead of fifth-placed rivals Arsenal.

Tottenham vs Brighton: Premier League table, fixtures, score and updates

Evening… 18:35: Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Premier League. Everyone happy to have returned to work after that glorious Easter weekend? Yep, me neither… Although I will be pleased to see the back of the millions of Instagram posts with the hysterically irritating captions ’Sunkissed,’ ‘Sunshine is the best medicine,’ and the most intolerable of them all ‘Good vibes only…’ OK, now that’s been addressed - shall we talk about football? Tottenham maintained their grip on third place despite a 1-0 defeat at Manchester City after Arsenal failed to capitalise following a 3-2 defeat by Crystal Palace. They welcome Brighton to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tonight and a win could see Mauricio Pochettino’s side move three points clear of Chelsea. Ready for the team news? Let’s get started.
