Nick Jonas Tells the Sweet Story of How He Met Priyanka Chopra

The mystery of how Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra met is finally solved.

The former Jonas Brothers band member told the story during Friday's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Like many couples, Jonas and Chopra were connected through a friend. After the initial introduction, the two texted each other but didn't actually meet in-person until about six months later. Then, in May 2017, they attended the Met Gala together. While Jonas said the two "had a great time," he also insisted they went only as friends.

"Our lives were kind of taking us in different places," he explained to host Jimmy Fallon.

Over the next few weeks, the duo spent a lot of quality time together and started to spark romance rumors. Despite the inquiries from the media and their inner circles, Jonas continued to say their relationship was just platonic.

"People thought we were being coy, and so did we until we cut to now [and] we're engaged," he said. "So, the story sort of wrote itself."

It wasn't until about five months ago that the two decided to give a romantic relationship a try.

"It was kind of immediate, and I think we just knew it was right and jumped right in," he said. "And we're very happy."

Nick Jonas says he’s ready for married life after staying mum on his whirlwind romance with Priyanka Chopra.

“We met through a friend, so we got connected first over text and we started talking for a while and it was about six months before we met up in person,” he told Jimmy Fallon on a “Tonight Show” appearance on Friday night. And even though the two sparked romance rumors after attending the Met Gala together in 2017, “now cut to we’re engaged, the story wrote itself” he said.

“We met up again, I think 5 months ago now and it was kind of immediate and we sort of jumped right in and we’re very happy,” he said.

Jonas and Chopra who got engaged over the summer held off on publicly confirming the news until both of their families united in Mumbai for a traditional Roka ceremony.

“Basically its a confirmation from both sides of the family that they approve of the engagement and then theres some beautiful prayers and connection just for athe family to have a chance to meet and hang out and get to know each other,” the “Jealous” singer explained. “It’s really incredible, we both left that ceremony full of joy.

“A little different from Jersey,” he quipped of his native state.

But the 26 year old’s millennial side showed a bit, as he said despite a beautiful ceremony, their engagement felt real once it was on Instagram.

“Its funny we had this beautiful ceremony we felt so connected, our families all met, it was spiritual and then we put it on Instagram and we were like, ‘It’s official!'”

And as for a cute couple name, Chopra — who was in the audience — unfortunately isn’t partial to Page Six’s “Jopra.”

“She likes prick!” Jonas admitted.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are madly in love, but the newly engaged couple isn't seeing eye-to-eye on one thing: their couple name.

The actress favors "Prick," and her pop star fiance laughed it off and said he wasn't having it when he stopped by The Tonight Show on Friday (Sept. 7). Before that, Jonas gushed about Chopra and the beginning of their love story to Jimmy Fallon, sharing how a friendship blossomed over text message before they attended the Met Gala and eventually made their love public in a bit of a whirlwind.

"People would ask us, in interview settings and in private, 'Are you guys seeing each other?'" he says. "And the answer was no. People thought we were being coy, and so did we, until we cut to, now we're engaged, so the story sort of wrote itself. We then met up a couple of months ago, five months ago now, and it was kind of immediate. We just knew it was right and jumped right in."

Jonas and Chopra recently traveled to Mumbai, where they celebrated their engagement with their families before beginning the next chapter of their lives together.

"It's funny -- we had this beautiful ceremony and we felt so connected," he said. "Our families all met and it was spiritual. And then we put it on Instagram, and we were like, 'Oh my God, it's official!'"

Stars: they're just like us, freaking out about whether or not their relationship status is established on social media.

Inside the event, they were seen being very attentive to the other. Jonas didn't leave Chopra's side and even Instagrammed a big part of their night, meeting the Ralph Lauren:
