Machine Gun Kelly hits back at Eminem with scathing diss track

Less than a week after Eminem took aim at Machine Gun Kelly on his surprise album Kamikaze, the latter has fired back at his former idol with the diss track "Rap Devil."

A play off Eminem's 2013 track "Rap God," MGK's "Rap Devil" dumps on everything from Em's "weird" beard to being "sober and bored." It only gets worse from there, as Kelly points out that Eminem's "last four albums" were "as bad as your selfie," and accuses Marshall Mathers of using his manager Paul Rosenberg to try and shelf MGK's career.

im standing up for not just myself, but my generation. im doing the same shit you did back in ur day. life is still real on my side, and i had to take time from the grind to defend myself from someone i called an idol. love, Rap Devil. — -- (@machinegunkelly) September 3, 2018

Machine Gun Kelly has long been complimentary of Eminem as one of the figures in hip-hop who inspired him to pick up a pen. Back in 2012, Kelly ruffled Em's feathers when he tweeted that his daughter, Hailie, was “hot as f---.” He also claims that Eminem has banned him from any more appearances on his Shade 45 channel on SiriusXM.

On his new Kamikaze track "Not Alike," Eminem addresses MGK's comments about his daughter, rapping, "And I’m talking to you but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly/ I don’t use sublims and sure as f--- don’t sneak-diss/ But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie."

On Monday (Sept. 3), MGK defended "Rap Devil" on Twitter, writing that he's standing up for his "generation" amid Eminem's attack.

"Im standing up for not just myself, but my generation," Kelly wrote. "im doing the same shit you did back in ur day. life is still real on my side, and i had to take time from the grind to defend myself from someone i called an idol. love, Rap Devil."

US rapper Machine Gun Kelly has written a song in response to being dissed by Eminem on his surprise new album.

Eminem released the 13-track record Kamikaze which is loaded with shots at those who criticised his previous album, Revival, which was released just eight months before.

The rapper Machine Gun Kelly released a song called "Rap Devil" – clearly inspired by Eminem’s “Rap God” – and features some burning lyrics including mention of his daughter, Hailee, something Eminem warned him against on Kamikaze track “Not Alike.”

"I think my Dad's gone crazy, yeah Hailie you right / Dad's always mad cooped up in the studio yelling at the mic," he raps, adding: "Homie, we know that you're the greatest rapper alive / F****** dweeb, all you do is read the dictionary and stay inside."

Others to be skewered on Eminem’s tenth record include Charlamagne Tha God, Joe Budden and Lil Yachty.

Tyler, the Creator – an outspoken fan of Eminem’s – is also mentioned, with Eminem directing a homophobic slur at the Odd Future rapper. His use of the word “faggot” has since generated a vast amount of criticism from listeners.

On the latest episode of hip hop beefs, Machine Gun Kelly is coming for Eminem.

The Cleveland-born rapper, born Richard Colson Baker, kicked off his Monday by responding to shots fired by the Slim Shady rapper at him on surprise album, Kamikaze, over the weekend.

Announcing his diss track to his 3.4million Instagram followers, Machine Gun Kelly wrote: ‘FUCK RAP GOD IM THE RAP DEVIL…good morning @eminem’.

In the track entitled Rap Devil, MGK claims Eminem’s is no longer one of the greatest rappers alive rapping: ‘Still can’t cover up the fact the last four albums as bad as your selfie.’

He also directly addresses his former idol, saying ‘Now tell me what do you stand for?’ and ‘I know you can’t stand yourself.’

The song has already racked up over one million views on YouTube and prompted a strong response from the online community, with fans already pledging allegiance to #TeamMGK or #TeamEminem.

‘F*** everyone saying MGK won. Eminem will come back 1000 times harder and body Kells. Don’t @ me bitches,’ one person said.

Another added: ‘You’re one of the finest now MGK, gotta admit, but this sh*t right here just wow damn that’s way too personal brahh, still bitter with Em arent ya? Im ur fan tho MGK but Em’s the OG, gotta side with the rap god tho. #teamEminem’

Fans are now waiting for a response from Eminem, who isn’t known for holding back when it comes to a beef as his mother and ex-wife know all too well (Picture: PA)

A third commenter said that while they ‘don’t think he will win a battle against Em, it was a good effort’

‘MGK is so happy to be able to respond to Eminem so that he can revive his career 😂’

Others were simply enjoying the drama unfold.

‘This is a good reply. Let’s see what Marshal says back. Either way, Smart move by mgk gaining some publicity,’ one claimed.

‘I’m standing up for not just myself, but my generation,’ MGK told fans on Twitter. ‘I’m doing the same sh*t you did back in ur day. Life is still real on my side, and I had to take time from the grind to defend myself from someone I called an idol. Love, Rap Devil.’

The bad blood between the pair predates Eminem’s recent criticism of MGK. Fans may recall that MGK’s angered the Lose Yourself hitmaker in 2012 when he tweeted that his daughter, Hailie, was ‘hot as f***’.

When Eminem unveiled his 13-track project on Friday, he addressed MGK’s comments about his daughter, on his track Not Alike, rapping: ‘And I’m talking to you but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly/ I don’t use sublims and sure as f— don’t sneak-diss/ But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie.’

Considering Eminem also takes shots at his rap peers like Tyler The Creator and Joe Budden and dismisses new-school rappers such as Lil Pump, Lil Xan and Lil Yachty, on Kamikaze, there’s a good chance there are a few more diss tracks on the way.

With a new set of swimsuit selfies, Halsey and G-Eazy continue to drop major hints that they’re back together — but it’s not all smooth sailing for the recently reunited couple.

Even as G-Eazy, 29, and Halsey, 23, smooched onstage on Friday at the rapper’s New Jersey concert and shared the stage again Saturday in Virginia Beach, the rapper was embroiled in a war of words with fellow rhymer Machine Gun Kelly, 28, over the singer.

On HOT 97 Friday, Machine Gun Kelly performed a freestyle rap that threw major shade at G-Eazy. He rapped, “Let’s just keep it G / Only Eazy I f— with is E / I seen he dyed his hair and got a hanging earring / I f—ed his girl now he look like me, this s— overbearing.”

In “Bad Boy, “G-Eazy responded at length to Machine Gun Kelly’s diss. “MGK, please stop trolling me, get over me / You wanna be me, you’re mad that you’re not as big as me,” G-Eazy rapped. “I’m everywhere, I’m your nightmare, you can’t get rid of me / Call an Uber, turn on the radio, imagine hearing me / ‘Him & I”s on, mad you’re listening to Halsey sing to me / Can’t f— with nobody with so much negative energy.”

Calling Machine Gun Kelly a “mini me” and “so below my class,” G-Eazy compared their careers: “I headline arenas and all of my s— go platinum / You never seen a plaque and your last s— at 30,000 / It’s not a competition, I’d hurt you if I start bragging.”

Then he threatened, “Disrespect her again, I’ll smack you / I’m not a boy.”

When G-Eazy and Halsey performed their hit “Him & I” at the Friday concert, G-Eazy said, “Make some noise for the most beautiful woman on this planet right now.”

They also sparked reunion rumors when they were seen holding hands at the MTV Video Music Awards and when Halsey posted cute pictures (complete with the tongue emoji) of the two on Instagram on Sunday.

On July 3, Halsey had confirmed that the duo, who had been dating since the summer of 2017, had taken a break. “I normally keep this kind of thing private but provided our public nature I feel the need to inform my fans. G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart,” she shared on her Instagram Story.

She continued, “I’m eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and my career, and the duration of my tour. I wish him the best. Thanks for respecting our privacy at this time.”

Halsey had previously told Marie Claire, “I love everything about him.”

A June 2017 Rolling Stone profile said that Machine Gun Kelly and Halsey had been spending time together and “seemed pretty snuggly.” He told the outlet, “I won’t comment exactly on titles or labels or anything, but what I will say is I feel 16 again.”

Meanwhile, Machine Gun Kelly has another feud to worry about — after Eminem dissed him on his surprise album Kamikaze, Machine Gun Kelly put out “Rap Devil” on Monday in response.

“Mad about something I said in 2012 / Took you six years and a surprise album just to come with a diss / Homie we get it, we know that you’re the greatest rapper alive / F—ing dweeb, all you do is read the dictionary and stay inside,” he rapped.

“Yeah I’ll acknowledge you’re the GOAT / But I’m the Gunner bitch, I got you in the scope (Brra) / Don’t have a heart attack now (No) / Somebody help your mans up (Help) / Knees weak of old age / The real Slim Shady can’t stand up.”

Machine Gun Kelly got in another swipe at G-Eazy as well while taunting Eminem about his ex-wife Kim.

“Usually one of your disses should ruin me / But bitch I’m from Cleveland, everybody quiet this evening, I’m reading the eulogy (Shh) / Dropped an album called Kamikaze, so that means it killed him / Already f—ed one rapper’s girl this week, don’t make me call Kim.”

Machine Gun Kelly tweeted, “im standing up for not just myself, but my generation. im doing the same s— you did back in ur day. life is still real on my side, and i had to take time from the grind to defend myself from someone i called an idol. love, Rap Devil.”
