Datuk Mahadzir Lokman passes away in Sabah





TV personality Datuk Mahadzir Lokman is reported to have passed away this morning.

Best known for his stint as a newscaster at TV3 and as an emcee, Mahadzir was at a hotel in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, when he passed away. He was 61.

His older sister said that the doctors in Sabah confirmed his passing. She said the family members are making arrangements to go to Sabah to bring back the body to be buried in Petaling Jaya.

In September last year, Mahadzir was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after he was found unconscious at his home.

In that report it said that Mahadzir, a diabetic, was suffering from numerous complications, including pneumonia.

But he was later discharged and was said to be in good spirits.


PETALING JAYA: Legendary anchorman, emcee and entertainment personality Datuk Mahadzir Lokman passed away in the early hours of Friday morning (Aug 3).

Mahadzir was at a hotel in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, when he passed away. He was 61.

His family is currently arranging for his remains to be brought back to Petaling Jaya from Kota Kinabalu.

Last year, he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the University Malaya Medical Centre because of lung and kidney complications, Utusan Malaysia reported earlier.
