Introducing the UniFi mobile application. Use the UniFi app to:
- Access the UniFi Controller to manage entire networks of devices while on the go.
- Provision a UniFi Access Point (AP) for basic functionality without configuring a UniFi Controller.
Requirement:
The UniFi AP must be physically connected via an Ethernet cable to a network that provides IP addresses using DHCP.
How To:
1. Ensure that the UniFi AP is in its factory default state, displaying a solidly white LED.
2. Log into your Ubiquiti community or SSO (Single Sign-On) account for backup/restore functionality. (If you wish, you can skip this login.)
3. The UniFi AP should appear on the device list if your device Wi-Fi is enabled and both your device and UniFi AP are on the same layer-2 network. (This is similar to the device discovery feature for other Ubiquiti products.)
4. If your device Wi-Fi is not enabled (or your device is on another subnet), then select scan QR code from the menu. Note: This is available only for models with the QR code sticker.

I've recently purchased for home/small business use -
Router: Ubiquiti USG
Switch: TP-LINK TL-SG3424 $170 on Amazon
AP: Ubiquiti Unifi UAP-AC-PRO-US
Have 2 sets of requirements -
For business I want VPN, remote VPN, vlan and lag, for 2 desktops, 2 laptops, dedicated web server, dedicated lab PC, future NAS. Will be buying more PC's or dedicated server for RPA (automation).
For home, I have wired connections: PC for personal use, 4 Chromecast video, 2 home theater system with Chromecasts audio, Yamaha a1060, Xbox. On wifi: 2 home mini and cell phones.
So I need to handle home video streaming, business web server, all PC's, wifi devices, etc. Any suggestions for config are welcome. Minimum 3 vlan for business use, web server, and personal/entertainment devices. I'd also like remote VPN on entertainment vlan for remote access to home theater and cast devices. Anybody tried this it know if it will work? They require the phone controlling them to be on same network so I'm wondering if a VPN will be a good work around.
Back to my main question:
Looking at returning current TP Link switch for US-24 without POE $215. For the money I don't mind not having all in one control panel. My question is which switch is actually better. I was curious if anyone knows real differences in performance, hardware processor/ram, and features to handle my devices and config requirements efficiently.
I'm not concerned about ease of use or having everything on Unifi control panel.
