Comedian Pete Davidson has confirmed he is engaged to Ariana Grande, adding: "I feel like I won a contest."
The couple started dating in May and there was speculation earlier this month they were planning to get married.
Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Pete - best known for his role on US comedy show SNL - confirmed they were engaged, adding: "It's lit."
He said one fan even came up to him and said: "You gave me hope".
It's the first time either of the pair have spoken publicly about their engagement - although Ariana appeared to confirm the news earlier this month when replying to fans on social media.
On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon jokingly told Pete that he "didn't have to get engaged to Ariana Grande to come on our show".
When asked how he was handling it all, the comedian said that men were walking past him and tipping their hat as a sign of respect.
"Some dude came up to me and was like: 'Yo man, you gave me hope'. I didn't know I was that ugly."
On Saturday, Pete shared a photo on Instagram which appeared to show Ariana wearing an engagement ring.
It included the caption: "You know what you'd dream it be like? It's better than that."
The couple have both recently come out of other relationships.
Ariana was dating rapper Mac Miller, while Pete was in a relationship with Cazzie David, whose dad is comedian Larry David.
The singer recently spoke about her recently-ended relationship with Mac Miller, calling it "toxic".
"I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be," she said.
Ariana also got a tattoo of a bee a year on from the terror attack at the Manchester Arena where 22 people died at her concert last year.
The singer says she has PTSD from the attack, and doesn't think she'll ever be able to talk about the event without crying.

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have reportedly moved into one of the most exclusive apartment complexes New York City has to offer. According to TMZ, the newly engaged (and admittedly inseparable) lovebirds are the proud inhabitants of a $16 million unit in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. It's unclear if the pop star and Saturday Night Live comedian plunked down some serious cash to own the property, or if they're just renting.
Coming in at a cool 4,000-square-feet, Ariana and Pete's nest boasts five bedrooms, four and a half baths and expansive views of the Big Apple skyline.
The building's many amenities are seriously out of this world, and include an on-site juice bar, fitness facility, spa and 75-foot indoor pool.
If it wasn’t for the Manchester Arena bombing, I presume a great many people in Britain would never have come across Ariana Grande.
In the aftermath of that terrible tragedy, in which 22 of her fans – including 10 under the age of 20 – were murdered as they left their idol’s concert, she inevitably entered the public consciousness very deeply. She would wish it were not so, of course, yet by all outward indications she dealt with the situation commendably.
Not only did she say the right things, but she visited young survivors in hospital and she was front and centre of the musical event defiantly arranged in the city just a fortnight later to commemorate the dead and to make plain that terrorists cannot win.
Just as it is impossible to imagine the anguish of families who lost loved ones in the attack, and of those who were maimed by it, so we cannot know quite how Ariana Grande was affected. One imagines that feelings of shock and horror were mingled with a sense, however undue, of guilt at the knowledge that it was her music which brought those particular individuals to the Manchester Arena on that fateful night. Yet she has – publicly at least – carried that heavy emotional burden with grace and sensitivity.
Now, a little more than a year after the bombing, Grande is back in the spotlight – and again it is not for musical reasons. Rather, news of her engagement to the actor and comedian Pete Davidson (not to be confused with a time-travelling Peter Davison), has caused a right old hoo-ha, with doubters expressing concern at the haste with which the pair have decided to marry after just a month of dating.
Grande for her part has hit back at the critics, writing on Twitter: “The truth is I been the f**k thru it and life’s too short to be cryptic and s**t about something as beautiful as this love I’m in. So Pete it is.”
And if you ask me, it’s well said (unnecessary expletives notwithstanding). This, after all, is a 24-year-old woman we’re talking about, not a child. What’s more, it’s noteworthy that the anxiety is directed only at her – nobody seems to worry that Davidson, who confirmed the engagement yesterday, is rushing in. Really the double standard is breathtaking.
In any event, who are others to judge the degree to which love and commitment between two people is likely to last? I bet we all know a couple who were together for years, finally decided to get married and then promptly divorced. Likewise, plenty of people decide to get hitched in the first rush of romance and make it last.

What’s even more absurd in this instance is that Grande and Davidson have done nothing more than express an intention to marry. It’s not as if they got hammered on tequila before drunkenly saying "I do" in a Las Vegas chapel (not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with that either!)
By her account, Grande’s previous relationship was “toxic” and “scary” at times (Mac Miller, the man in question, has spoken about his drug use). She was strong enough to leave that partnership, which seems as decent an indication as any that she knows her own mind and won’t be pushed around – by men, by the media or by naysayers on Twitter. Indeed, she stood up admirably to those who publicly criticised her for breaking up with Miller.
It is notable perhaps that Davidson, like Grande, has experienced the traumatic aftermath of a terrorist attack. His father was a firefighter in New York who lost his life as the towers came crashing down on 9/11 – Davidson was seven at the time. Perhaps their shared understanding of the bleakness which terrorism leaves in its wake will be a binding force, and an important source of comfort.
Will the engagement be seen through; will any ensuing marriage last; will they be happy? There is, in the end, no way to tell at this stage – just as there is no knowing how any relationship will ultimately work out.
But these two people seem like a pair of good eggs. I hope they ignore the social media trolls and live happily ever after.

Jimmy even suggested the couple get married and Pete went along for a second before clarifying: 'That's not happening.'

'Why do people care?' he asked, laughing. 'The President is trying to pardon himself and f*ck a porn star... shouldnt we care about that?'
Despite being told by the host he didn't have to propose to Ariana to get on the show, Davidson was well aware of the reason he was really booked to appear.
He shrugged off his appearance in the Netflix film Set It Up as a 'ten second' cameo, instead using his time on the couch to promote fellow guest Robert Pattinson and one of his films from last year.

He described the Twilight star one of the greatest actors of our time and insisted he should have received an Oscar for Good Time, while Pattinson giggled sheepishly beside him.
Fallon then steered the conversation back to Davidson's new fiance, pointing out his new bunny ears tattoo.
Rolling his eyes, the SNL star joked that him 'taking a sh*t' is now news, which finally prompted Fallon to check his foul language.

'You asked me to be on here, I don't do these things!' Davidson laughed back. 'I can't get fired from your show, I don't care!'
'This was my first and last Tonight Show appearance,' he announced to the crowd when Jimmy told him he actually could get fired.
'That's fine ill go on Seth f*ckin Meyers,' he jibed. 'I actually have Seth's number, I don't have your number.'
'And you'll never get it,' Fallon fired back, before landing the final blow. 'I'll just call Ariana.'

The trio crumpled into fits of laughter, as Davidson finally conceded: 'I'm forever known as her plus one.'
Grande, 24, and Davidson went public about dating in late May through their social media accounts a few weeks after ending their previous relationships.
Grande's broke up with Mac Miller; Davidson and girlfriend Cazzie David also split around the same time.
The Dangerous Woman singer was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger earlier this week; it was reported on Wednesday the couple had moved into a Manhattan apartment together.
