The Warriors are one win away from a second straight NBA championship. Kevin Durant score 43 points in Game 3, while the Cavaliers got a triple-double out of LeBron James. However, it still wasn't enough to overcome Golden State's firepower as Cleveland finds itself down 3-0 -- a hole nobody in NBA history has managed to climb back from. Cleveland will spend the rest of this series trying to be the first to do that.

Despite all their talent, the Warriors needed seven games to defeat the top-seeded Rockets in the Western Conference finals. Golden State played well, but it was also the biggest challenge the Warriors have faced since Kevin Durant joined forces with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Co. Besides that, they breezed through the playoffs on their way back to the finals.

The Cavaliers, on the other hand, have had a rough road back to this rematch. It took seven games in the first round against Indiana and they needed a superhuman effort from LeBron James against Boston in the conference finals, winning four of the final five games of the series to punch a ticket to the Finals. However, they're back again and that alone should be seen as an accomplishment after a drama-filled season.

No. 2 Golden State Warriors vs. No. 4 Cleveland Cavaliers

NBA Finals schedule

Regular-season series: Warriors took both regular-season meetings against a completely different Cleveland team that featured Dwyane Wade, Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder. Curry missed the Christmas Day meeting due to injury.

Last season's playoff results: Warriors defeated Cavaliers in five games to win the 2017 NBA Finals.

Injury Report: Andre Iguodala (knee) is listed as questionable for Game 3, but Steve Kerr said there's a "good chance" that he'll play.

Cavaliers win if:

LeBron James has been out of his mind on the court lately. If the Cavs are going to have any chance against the greatest collection of talent ever assembled, he'll need to keep up that level of play. Considering he is averaging 34 points, 9.2 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game these playoffs, that at least feels possible. He'll need at least some help from Love, George Hill, Tristan Thompson and Kyle Korver. If those four don't show up then it doesn't matter what James does. It won't be enough.

Warriors win if:

The Warriors need to get the ball into the hands of Curry and let him go to work. Durant is incredible, but his isolation sets have had a tendency to drag down Golden State's offense at times. The Warriors are at their best when Curry is bending a defense to his will and he needs the ball to do that. Give the ball to Curry and let him unleash the Warriors heavy 3-point shooting offense.

SportsLine projections

According to SportsLine date scientist Stephen Oh's simulations, the Warriors have a 74.3 percent chance of winning this series. SportsLine will have game-by-game gambling advice for the NBA Finals here.

2018 NBA Playoff Bracket

Nobody has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit before, but that's the situation the Warriors have put the Cavaliers in. Golden State moved to within a game of the NBA championship as the Warriors defeated Cleveland 110-102 Wednesday in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Kevin Durant scored a career playoff-high 43 points as Golden State took a commanding lead in the series.

Durant was phenomenal the entire game. Every time the Cavaliers went on a run to take leads as large as 13, Durant would hit a few shots and bring Golden State back within the game. His performance made up big time for teammate Stephen Curry. One game removed from breaking the NBA Finals record for 3-pointers in a game, Curry shot 1-for-10 from 3-point range and only scored 11 points.

However, Curry and the Warriors got the win and that's something LeBron James wishes he had. Individually, James has been fantastic for the entirety of the NBA Finals and Game 3 was more of the same for him. He scored 33 points, dished out 11 assists and pulled down 10 rebounds. However, his triple-double was once again not enough to get the Cavs a much-desired win.

Cleveland will now attempt to make history. The Cavs have done it before, thought not history of this magnitude. In 2016, they became the only team in history to come back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals to win the series. However, that was before the Warriors added Durant. Last season, the Warriors took a 3-0 lead with Durant, and managed to easily win the series in five games. It'll be interesting to see if history repeats itself in this series.

Game 3: Warriors 110, Cavaliers 102 (Box Score)

Durant breaks the Cavs

Remember that shot during Game 3 of the 2017 NBA Finals when Kevin Durant pulled up from 3-point range and buried the Cavs title hopes away? Well he did it again on Wednesday. It wasn't quite the same, but Durant once again hit a dagger 3-pointer to give the Warriors a commanding 3-0 lead in the series. The Cavs have to be tired of seeing him do this by now.

Iguodala plays in Game 3

Andre Iguodala hadn't played since the conference finals due to a knee injury, but he made his return in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. There was a brief moment where he left due to another knee injury in his right leg, but he returned to the game and scored eight points. He also had one of the biggest dunks of the night to help put away the Cavs.

James goes glass

LeBron James has always been able to show off incredible feats of athleticism, but going off the backboard to himself for a dunk during the NBA Finals is one of the craziest dunks he's ever attempted. So much could go wrong here, but he kept his composure and had one of the best highlights of the entire season.
