May the force be with you" berubah menjadi "May the Fourth be with you".

Tapi seperti apa sebenarnya asal-usul Hari Star Wars ini? Berikut 4 hal yang mungkin belum kamu ketahui:

Berawal dari ucapan selamat untuk Margaret Thatcher

Ternyata ungkapan "May the 4th be with you" pertama kali diucapkan pada tahun 1979, hanya dua tahun setelah film Star Wars pertama dirilis.

Seperti dicatat oleh penulis Allen Arnold dalam bukunya tentang pembuatan The Empire Strikes Back, pada 4 Mei 1979, Margaret Thatcher menjadi perdana menteri perempuan pertama dalam sejarah Inggris Raya.

Partai pengusungnya, Partai Konservatif, mengeluarkan sebuah iklan di koran London Evening News untuk memberinya selamat. Iklan itu berbunyi: "May the Fourth Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations."

Baru menjadi fenomena setelah Disney membeli Lucasfilm

Karena itu mereka mulai mengorganisir beberapa perayaan May the 4th yang besar dan bahkan membuat iklan parodi anti-May the 4th.

Hari berikutnya dirayakan sebagai 'Revenge of the 5th'

Fans Star Wars sepertinya memang sepertinya menyukai pun.
