Jameela Jamil has branded Kim Kardashian a ‘terrible and toxic influence’ after she promoted appetite-suppressing lollipops on Instagram.

The Good Place star previously lashed out at a social media post which superimposed all of the Kardashian women’s weights over a picture of the family.

But now, it is Kim K herself who has incurred her wrath following her latest #spon post.

The 37-year-old has promoted Flat Tummy Co’s appetite supressant lollies to her 111 million Instagram followers, which has angered much of the internet – and nobody more than Jameela.

The 32-year-old tweeted a screenshot of Kim’s post and tweeted: ‘No. Fuck off. No. You terrible and toxic influence on young girls.

No. Fuck off. No. You terrible and toxic influence on young girls. I admire their mother’s branding capabilities, she is an exploitative but innovative genius, however this family makes me feel actual despair over what women are reduced to. ☹️ pic.twitter.com/zDPN1T8sBM — Jameela Jamil (@jameelajamil) May 16, 2018

MAYBE don’t take appetite suppressors and eat enough to fuel your BRAIN and work hard and be successful. And to play with your kids. And to have fun with your friends. And to have something to say about your life at the end, other than “I had a flat stomach.” 🤯 pic.twitter.com/XsBM3aFtAQ — Jameela Jamil (@jameelajamil) May 16, 2018

The former T4 presenter continued: ‘MAYBE don’t take appetite suppressors and eat enough to fuel your BRAIN and work hard and be successful. And to play with your kids. And to have fun with your friends. And to have something to say about your life at the end, other than “I had a flat stomach.”’

This was accompanied by a GIF of Mr Bean flipping the bird, so you can guess Jameela wasn’t too pleased.

Jameela’s followers praised her for calling out Kim’s post while sharing their own disbelief at the ad – which has also disappointed plus-size model and self-love advocate Felicity Hayward.

After Jameela saw the post focused on the Kardashians’ weight, she set up an Instagram account called I Weigh, which urges women to count their weight in all the things that make them wonderful – like being a good friend, kicking ass at work, beating illnesses and being a feminist.

The star, who plays Tahani on The Good Place, told the Financial Times: ‘It was sad enough in the ’90s when I was growing up and every girl at my school was struggling with self-image. A lot of us had eating disorders, myself included, because of the subliminal messaging — like this — about how little we weigh being how we measure our worth.

‘But you expect that, as time progresses, this would change. If anything it’s worse — and it’s reached a point of epidemic because of social media.’

Kim Kardashian has faced huge backlash for promoting an appetite suppressing lollipop.

The reality star, 37, shared a snap of herself tucking into the treat on Instagram and encouraged her 111 million followers to purchase the product, in order to aid weight loss - but soon deleted the post from her main grid after a flurry of criticism.

Actress Jameela Jamil led the charge against the reality TV star, branding Kim a 'terrible and toxic influence' for failing to promote healthy eating.

The controversial snap - which currently remains in her Instagram Story, despite having been deleted from her main feed - sees a seemingly naked Kim sucking on the red lollipop for the camera.

Proving to be a fan of the diet sweet, she wrote excitedly in the caption: 'You guys… @flattummyco just dropped a new product. They're Appetite Suppressant Lollipops and they're literally unreal.

'They're giving the first 500 people on their website 15% OFF so if you want to get your hands on some… you need to do it quick! #suckit'

Furious: Leading the backlash was actress Jameela Jamil (above), who branded Kim a 'terrible and toxic influence' for failing to promote healthy eating to her 111 million followers

Furious: Sharing a snap of the ad to Twitter, Jameela furiously slammed Kim for encouraging her young followers to use appetite suppressants, rather than take on a balanced diet

However the advertisement immediately came under fire from followers - with The Good place star Jameela leading the complaints.

Addressing Kim directly, she wrote fiercely on Twitter: 'No. F*** off. No. You terrible and toxic influence on young girls.

'I admire their mother's branding capabilities, she is an exploitative but innovative genius, however this family makes me feel actual despair over what women are reduced to.'

'MAYBE don't take appetite suppressors and eat enough to fuel your BRAIN and work hard and be successful. And to play with your kids. And to have fun with your friends.

Here here: Her sentiment was echoed by many, who vented their own fury beneath the post

Further fury: Piers Morgan also branded the post 'disturbing' on his Twitter page

Inspirational: Jameela is a strong advocate for body confidence, and recently set up a campaign called 'I Weigh' - which focuses on people's achievements, rather than their size

'And to have something to say about your life at the end, other than 'I had a flat stomach.'

Her sentiment was echoed by many - with one commenting on Jameela's response: 'Can't believe this is actually real,' while another added: 'What kind of mother would advertise appetite suppressants. Jesus Christ they're money hungry.'

Another fan chimed in: 'As a mother this terrifies me, as a woman this boils my blood! Disgusting. No wonder people struggle so much when s*** like this is rammed down your throat. Calls herself a role model?!?'

While another added in despair: 'I hope this isn't real. This woman has far too much influence over young girls & seems incapable of using it in a positive way.'

In agreement: Meanwhile Kim's post itself was flooded with critical comments from her followers, who branded the ad 'disgusting' and 'irresponsible'

Up to her usual tricks: Kim is known for her presence on social media - sharing both personal posts as well as sponsored content almost daily

Meanwhile Kim's post itself was flooded with critical comments from her followers, who branded the ad 'disgusting' and 'irresponsible'.

One wrote: 'This is absolutely disgusting. What a horrible message to send to you impressionable and young female followers. Have you no shame?'

While others added: 'Shouldn't you be encouraging body image positivity instead of encouraging your followers to have appetite suppressants? How sad...'

'THIS IS NOT OKAY! What a way to use your 'celebrity status' to promote dieting and disordered eating behaviours! Shameful.'

And: 'This is a such a dangerous message to be sending from someone in a position such as yours.'

The post was also deemed irresponsible by professionals - with leading Harley Street nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert urging Kim to be more aware of her huge and often impressionable following.

Cashing in: Last year it was revealed that Kim can earn up to $500,000 per Instagram ad, while her sisters Khloe and Kourtney rake in £250,000

She told MailOnline: 'When these celebs start promoting unhealthy behaviours, they can be taken very seriously by some people which may encourage or lead to disordered eating and an unhealthy relationship with food.

'It is incredibly sad to see posts that are liked by so many individuals, going against everything we as nutritionists are trying so hard to fight. Products such as 'appetite suppressants' have no place in a well balanced diet.'

Kim is known for her presence on social media - sharing both personal posts as well as sponsored content almost daily.

Last year Michael Heller - CEO of the talent firm that organises the family's endorsements – told Us Weekly that Kim earns close to $500,000 per Instagram ad, while her sisters Khloe and Kourtney can bag up to $250,000.

It is not the first time Kim has faced backlash for her online activity - having come under fire for sharing a string of nearly naked snaps in February.

Kim, who is known to have had plastic surgery, was criticised by public figures and fans alike for promoting an 'unrealistic body image' to young girls, and encouraging them to also pose in the nude online.

However, the reality star appeared to hit back at haters by sharing a snap of herself on the phone a week later - captioned: 'Hi, can I get zero f***s please, thanks.'

"Fuck off. No. You terrible and toxic influence on young girls."

The Good Place star Jameela Jamil has slammed Kim Kardashian West as a “toxic influence on young girls”, after the reality TV personality promoted an appetite suppressing lollipop on social media.

Kardashian West wrote about the lollipops on Wednesday, in a post for which she was presumably paid an obscene amount of money.

“You guys… @flattummyco just dropped a new product,” she wrote. “They’re Appetite Suppressant Lollipops and they’re literally unreal. They’re giving the first 500 people on their website 15% OFF so if you want to get your hands on some… you need to do it quick!”

But Jamil, an outspoken campaigner for body positivity, was not impressed.

“No. Fuck off. No. You terrible and toxic influence on young girls,” she wrote on Twitter. “I admire their mother’s branding capabilities, she is an exploitative but innovative genius, however this family makes me feel actual despair over what women are reduced to.”

“MAYBE don’t take appetite suppressors and eat enough to fuel your BRAIN and work hard and be successful. And to play with your kids. And to have fun with your friends. And to have something to say about your life at the end, other than ‘I had a flat stomach’,” she added.

Tl;dr: Don’t fuck with Tahani.

Kim Kardashian sparked anger from fans and the wrath of actress Jameela Jamil for promoting “appetite suppressant lollipops” to her 111 million followers on Instagram.

The reality TV star on Tuesday shared a since-deleted photograph of herself sucking on a Flat Tummy Co lollipop ― which she described as “literally unreal.”

The backlash was immediate, with fans criticizing Kardashian in the comments for promoting “such an unhealthy approach to weight loss.”

“This is disgusting,” wrote one. “Your fans are going to be seeing this and thinking that this is how to get your body. Eating is good for you, stop convincing people to literally starve themselves of food to get a flat tummy.”

“The Good Place” star Jamil assailed Kardashian on Twitter, describing her as a “terrible and toxic influence on young girls” and telling her to “fuck off.”

“I admire their mother’s branding capabilities, she is an exploitative but innovative genius,” wrote Jamil. “However, this family makes me feel actual despair over what women are reduced to.”

Jamil later fired off this second tweet:

MAYBE don’t take appetite suppressors and eat enough to fuel your BRAIN and work hard and be successful. And to play with your kids. And to have fun with your friends. And to have something to say about your life at the end, other than “I had a flat stomach.” 🤯 pic.twitter.com/XsBM3aFtAQ — Jameela Jamil (@jameelajamil) May 16, 2018

Other people echoed Jamil’s concerns, condemning the message Kardashian appeared to be sending:

Instagram is making us insecure. We're all bombarded with images of unattainable lifestyle and beauty. It is known that when you are insecure, you are easier to influence. This web of psychology is what makes Kim Kardashian's promotion of appetite suppressants so alarming. — Dr. Liam Hackett (@DiageoLiam) May 16, 2018

Forget kale salads, Kim Kardashian thinks all you need is an appetite suppressant lollipop and you're good to go. "They’re literally unreal, " she says in her latest Instagram (sponsored, no less) post. — Tom & Lorenzo (@tomandlorenzo) May 16, 2018

Flat Tummy Co’s website says its lollipops contain “satiereal” (an extract of saffron stigma, which it claims “helps control food intake, cravings and weight) and are “designed to help you suppress your appetite.”

“So with 1-2 pops per day, you’ll have your hunger under control and cravings in-check,” promises the company.
