The Seven star and Oxman 'have traveled together internationally on several occasions,' including February's Design Indaba conference in South Africa, where Oxman delivered a speech, the source said. 'They are very much a couple,' said a source.

A separate source told the publication that Pitt's relationship with Oxman 'is solely a professional' one.

In the shots, the Allied star wore an all-black ensemble of a hooded sweatshirt with pants and shoes, sporting a bit of stubble. He posed alongside Oxman in a shot that was subsequently removed from social media, according to People.

The source added that the friendship hasn't blossomed into a romance just yet - but there is potential.

'Their friendship has not turned into romance … as both are cautious and this is, again, more of a professional friendship, but Brad is very interested in spending more time with Neri, she is fascinating,' the source said.

Meanwhile Pitt heads up the Make It Right Foundation, which builds affordable, solar-powered homes and communities for people in need. The Troy star has been working with architects from all over the world to build homes in New Orleans - which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina - as well as neighborhoods in need in New Jersey and Kansas City, Missouri.

It comes as it was revealed that the Fight Club actor is expected to finalize his divorce from Angelina Jolie within weeks.

A new report, published last weekend, hints that proceedings are imminent, following news that both have moved on with new love interests.

'The terms of the divorce are now agreed,' a source informed The Sun on Sunday. 'They are being finalised by both legal teams, but will be filed within weeks.

As Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce continues to get finalized, Page Six has linked the actor with architect and MIT professor Neri Oxman. According to one source, they “instantly hit it off” over a shared love for architecture, design, and art after Pitt was referred to her to collaborate on a project. Remember, Pitt's been really into making things with his hands. As he told GQ in May 2017 of handling clay, plaster, rebar, and wood, "I make everything. You know, I surprise myself. But it's a very, very lonely occupation."

Pitt might not be so lonely anymore, but before you draw any conclusions about him and the MIT professor, Page Six's source says they're just friends. For now. "Their friendship has not turned into romance… as both are cautious and this is, again, a professional friendship, but Brad is very interested in spending more time with Neri, she is fascinating." Whatever you make of that last part about Pitt being “very interested,” an Instagram from November 2017 has resurfaced that makes things well, more interesting. At the time, Pitt posed for a photo with students following a class taught by Oxman at MIT. The caption was fitting: “Ocean’s six?” (A second photo, featuring Pitt and Oxman, has since been taking down.)

If you need more time to sort out your feelings about Pitt's new "friend," here's a cheat sheet of sorts, just in case this rumor comes up again.

1. Oxman served in the military. Born to an American father and an Israeli mother, Oxman completed mandatory service in the Israeli military before applying to medical school.

2. She moved to the U.S. in 2005. After studying in Jerusalem and London, she began work at MIT under the guidance of renowned design theoretician, Professor William J. Mitchell, who was famous for his Smart Cities program at the MIT Media Lab. Mitchell died in 2010.

3. Oxman became an associate professor at MIT in 2010. That same year, Oxman founded the Mediated Matter research group within the MIT Media Lab. According to a 2016 Surface magazine profile, Oxman works with a group of 25 affiliates and visiting students across several fields including computational design, architecture, marine science, molecular biology, and physics.

4. She coined the term “Material Ecology” early in her career. According to her official website, the term is “the study and design of products and processes integrating environmentally aware computational form-generation and digital fabrication.” In 2009, Oxman explained that material ecology is “an interdisciplinary research initiative that undertakes design research in the intersection between architecture, engineering, computation, biology and ecology." Got that?

5. One of Oxman’s favorite things from the MIT Media Lab is a water-jet cutter that’s so sharp it can slice human bone. Speaking to Fast Company in 2009, Oxman said while the laser cutter is “very feminine” and “elegant,” the water-jet cutter is “masculine.” She added, “To be here at 2 a.m. all by myself — it’s really exciting!"

6. One of her most famous creations was built by worms. Silkworms, to be exact. As outlined in Dezeen, Oxman and her team programmed a robotic arm to imitate how silkworms deposit silk when building cocoons. 6,500 actual silkworms were then introduced to the structure and over time, silk fibers allowed the “The Silk Pavilion” to fill in.

7. Oxman has permanent collections at a number of major institutions. This includes the Museum of Modern Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Centre Georges Pompidou, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Boston Museum of Science.

8. She was married to Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov. Some years after tying the knot in 2011, they broke up. Still, in the 2016 Surface profile, Oxman revealed that he had an “incredible influence” on her work. FYI: her ex-husband has won two Grammys, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a MacArthur Fellowship.

9. She once mentioned Brad Pitt in an interview, but let’s not read too much into it, since George Clooney also made the cut. It happened in April 2017 during an interview with W. When asked if the issue of male dominance in architecture is unique to the field, Oxman offered this: “For the same reason we have the Brad Pitts and the George Clooneys, it’s just part of human nature to idolize stereotypes. Such singularities are useful to the common perception of heroism. But it’s not only true for architecture; it’s true in musical composition, for females working in theater, for film directors. This isn’t just a disease of the architecture profession; it’s a phenotype of human culture and how we develop stereotypes and perceptions.”

Brad Pitt has, by all accounts, landed himself a new girlfriend in MIT professor Neri Oxman.

The 54-year-old dad-of-six, who split from wife Angelina Jolie in 2016, was first linked to Oxman, who has also been married before, last week.

However, it has since emerged that the pair apparently met six months ago.

Brad and Neri are believed to have met when they were introduced to work together on an architectural project he had in the works.

It’s easy to forget but Hollywood star Brad is somewhat of an architecture and design aficionado.

They are said to have hit it off straight away, and he was even seen visiting her at her media lab at MIT.

A picture surfaced of Brad Pitt visiting the university posing alongside some of her students, with the image captioned by student Kathy Camenzind ‘Ocean’s six? #whatjusthappened #bradpitt #medialab.’

Oxman may have been taking the photo as she didn’t appear in it.

A source has described Brad Pitt’s new friend as ‘genius and gorgeous’ and that their interests make them a perfect match. However, sources close to the pair are playing down the idea of romance.

Speaking to People, a source said: ‘Brad and Neri instantly hit it off because they share the same passion for architecture, design and art. This is best described as a professional friendship.

‘Their friendship has not turned into romance … as both are cautious and this is, again, more of a professional friendship, but Brad is very interested in spending more time with Neri, she is fascinating.’

Born 6 February 1976 in Haifa, Israel, Neri is an American-Israeli architect, designer and professor.

Her trademark he is her art and architecture that combines design, computing, biology and and materials engineering.

Oxman founded and directs the Mediated Matter group at the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Media Lab, as well as being an artist with work featuring in the likes of Paris’s Centre Georges Pompidou and Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of Science.

Neri was married to composer Osvaldo Golijov (Picture: MA studio/©2003 Rick Friedman/Corbis)

Neri was previously married to Argentine composer Osvaldo Noe Golijov, 57, who is known for his classical music.

He is also a professor, specialising in vocal and orchestral work.

They married in 2011 but are understood to have now split. She once told Surface magazine that he had an ‘incredible influence’ on much of her work.

Little else is known about their relationship as they both live private lives but it is understood they do not have children together.

It’s a stark change to Brad’s last long-term relationship with Jolie, who together are two of the biggest film stars in the world.

Interestingly, Neri once referred to Brad in a 2017 interview with W Magazine.

When asked if she thinks the idea of males having dominance is unique to her profession, she said: ‘For the same reason we have the Brad Pitts and the George Clooneys, it’s just part of human nature to idolize stereotypes.’

Brad is bound to be getting help from Neri with his Make It Right Foundation, which builds affordable homes for people in need, such as those affected by hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

His divorce from Angelina Jolie is set to be finalised within the next few weeks.

Is there anything the man can’t do?

Brad Pitt seems to be one busy man these days.

Not only has it been reported he’s dating an MIT professor – and has been for the past six months, apparently – he’s also got a new hobby.

The father and actor has kept a pretty low profile recently, but he has popped up on the Instagram of Pollaro Inc, which appeared to be a furniture design business.

Turns out, he’s flexing his design skills.

In one shot, Brad kneels by a table as he surveys a collaboration between him and the company with post captioned: ‘Brad Pitt visited our shop yesterday to review some of the various pieces of furniture that we are currently working on.

‘Pictured here, he is providing us direction on the shape of the bronze base detail for a new Pitt-Pollaro desk.’

They then went on to detail the specifics behind the wood and unless you’re a real hack for this sort of palaver, we won’t bore you with the details.

But apparently it’s made from a ‘one-in-a-million Royal ebony log; a blonde form of Macassar ebony with wild black lines’ which is meant to ‘convey harmony’ throughout the design.

Sounds pretty impressive.

In another shot, Brad is seen ‘sorting through a new parcel of Royal Ebony for the new Pitt-Pollaro desk’.

He is a hands on guy!

Wearing his lumberjack shirt, he really got into the spirit and it’s great to see.

It comes as he’s reported to be seeing Oxman, an MIT professor.

However, and this is where the plot gets thicker, the actor was referred to Oxman to work together on an architectural project he had in the works, as Brad is somewhat of an architecture and design aficionado.

Is that project is the Pitt-Pollaro collab?

Anyway, he and Oxman were said to have hit it off straight away, and he was even seen visiting her at her media lab at MIT.

However sources did pour cold water on any romantic ties, labelling it a professional friendship.
