Fans of B.C. rock musician Matthew Good took to social media on Tuesday night to offer their thoughts and prayers to the 46-year-old after he collapsed onstage while performing at Edmonton’s Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.
A tweet posted to Good’s Twitter account confirmed the singer had been taken to hospital.
“Matt’s been under the weather recently, but still wanted to go on with the show,” the Tweet reads. “Unfortunately he couldn’t carry on with the performance, and as a precautionary measure he has been taken to the hospital. We’ll keep everyone updated.”
Good’s Twitter account did not elaborate on what caused the musician to feel under the weather.

A video was posted to Instagram on Tuesday night that showed Good slumped over as he was carried off stage.
Another video shot by a concertgoer shows Our Lady Peace singer Raine Maida address the crowd after Good collapsed. Maida told the crowd that Good collapsed due to pneumonia.
“[Matthew Good] wanted to do the show and he tried to do it and you saw what happened,” Maida told the crowd before encouraging them to applaud for the “Hello Time Bomb” singer.

Don Amero was one of the hundreds of concertgoers in attendance Tuesday night. From his seat in the sixth row from the stage, he told Global News he was shocked by what he saw.
“We were just sort of like in awe that we just sort of saw this happen in real life,” Amero said. “I haven’t been to many Matthew [Good] concerts so I wasn’t sure what the vibe was, but he seemed a little off to me… things just didn’t seem right and then about four songs in, he just collapsed on the stage.
“Everything came to a halt and the stage crew came to his side right away and carried him off the stage. He didn’t even get up on his own feet.”
Amero said that midway through Our Lady Peace’s set, Maida told the crowd he was texting Good.
Then, a few songs later, Maida told the crowd that Good had responded with a sense of humour, saying, “he blames the drummer for playing too fast.”
“Clearly he wasn’t in the shape to be on the stage,” Amero added.

Tuesday marked the second night that Good was to perform in Edmonton along with Canadian rock heavyweights Our Lady Peace.
The Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium declined comment on the incident. Global News has reached out to the agency that represents Good for more information.
Good and Our Lady Peace are currently on a cross-country tour that began in St. John’s, N.L. earlier this month. The acts are scheduled to perform Wednesday night at the CN Centre in Prince George , B.C. and to end the tour in Kelowna and Abbotsford. There was no word Tuesday night on whether the tour would be disrupted because of Good’s condition.

Good, originally from the Vancouver area, was three songs into his performance at the Jubilee Auditorium when he apparently collapsed and was rushed offstage by his band and security personnel.
Maida told the crowd the Our Lady Peace performance would go on as scheduled.

'He went down really hard'
Fan Kaitlyn Young, 29, was at the show and described the moment Good collapsed as very sudden.
Young says Good was in the middle of a guitar solo and had his back to the audience, talking to the drummer, when he went down.
3 songs in and he just collapsed. The band and security carried him backstage and we're just waiting now. He told the crowd last night he had pneumonia so probably related to that? —@Kaitlynnyoung
"It didn't look like anything was out of normal and then he just collapsed sideways.… He went down really hard," she said.
"It took a second for everyone to realize and then the whole band just stopped playing and rushed him and security rushed the stage."
She described the crowd as being "in shock" after the incident unfolded.

Maida's speech to the audience drew loud applause, she said, especially when he explained that Good was pushing himself to complete the performance.
"Everyone here really appreciates it," she said.
According to Good's website, his next show with Our Lady Peace is scheduled for Wednesday in Prince George, B.C.
There has been no official word yet as to whether that show will go on.

Larry MacDonald was at the concert and said Good fell midway through his third song.
“(I) noticed there was no singing for a short bit, other players then stopped and went to Matt on the floor,” said MacDonald.
“He was taken off stage and 20 minutes later it was announced he was fighting pneumonia.”
Good was performing on the second night of a co-headlining gig with Our Lady Peace.
In a video posted to Facebook, Our Lady Peace lead singer Raine Maida addressed the crowd confirming Good had been taken to hospital and was suffering pneumonia.
“He wanted to do the show and he tried to do it and you saw what happened,” Maida told the clearly disappointed crowd.
“You got to give him a big hand for even being up here.”
Someone tweeting from Good’s official Twitter account said: “As Raine said on stage tonight, Matt’s been under the weather recently, but still wanted to go on with the show. Unfortunately he couldn’t carry on with the performance, and as a precautionary measure he has been taken to the hospital. We’ll keep everyone updated.”
Good isn’t the only musician to collapse at the Jubilee Auditorium. Back in 2016, theatrical rocker Meat Loaf fell on stage due to a “severe case” of dehydration.

EDMONTON - Canadian rock musician Matthew Good was taken to hospital after collapsing on stage during a performance at Edmonton's Jubilee Auditorium on Tuesday night.
Singer Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace, which is touring with Good, told the crowd Good had collapsed due to pneumonia.
And a message posted on Good's official Twitter account said, "As Raine said on stage tonight, Matt's been under the weather recently, but still wanted to go on with the show."
The message added: "Unfortunately, he couldn't carry on with the performance, and as a precautionary measure he has been taken to hospital."
In a video posted on social media, Maida also told the audience that Good "wanted to do the show and he tried to do it and you saw what happened."
The crowd then burst into applause when Maida urged them to give Good a "big hand for even getting up there."
Good and Our Lady Peace are currently on a cross-Canada tour that began March 1 in St. John's, N.L.
The two acts also performed at the Jubilee Auditorium on Monday night.
There was no immediate word on whether they would perform as scheduled Wednesday night at the CN Centre in Prince George , B.C. before ending the tour with shows in Kelowna and Abbotsford.
