13 Reasons Why season 2: Netflix to surprise fans by dropping series two THIS weekend?

Katherine’s character, Hannah Baker, was central to the storyline of season one but will take more of a backseat when the show returns.

Furthermore, the actress warned fans that the character they will see in the second run will be very different to the one they met in the first series.

Speaking on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this month, Katherine explained: “It was a very different season to season one for a lot of reasons.

“But I’m super grateful to be asked back, because I think there’s so much left to tell and I’m really glad we got to focus on some important storylines for other characters.”

She continued: “The Hannah in season one is gone.

The Netflix series earned itself a huge army of fans and they could be in for a surprise over the weekend.

March 31 will mark one year since the first season was released and some viewers think this will be the release date of the second series.

Fans have been speculating on Twitter and many of them believe tomorrow will be the day it finally drops.

One exclaimed: “Omg 13 reasons why season 2 is coming out March 31 tomorrow!!!”

Fans of 13 Reasons Why have gone into overdrive as they speculate the release of the second season, with many believing it would drop onto the streaming service this weekend. March 31 marks one year since the first series dropped on Netflix leading many to believe viewers could be in for a surprise over the Easter Weekend. However, it was very unlikely that the series would return without warns as many fans in the US have been offered the opportunity to win tickets to watch season two before it airs. Taking place in Los Angeles, the exclusive event, which takes place over three days, March 30, March 31 and April 4, will allow fans to watch the series and a Q&A with the cast. It is therefore more likely that 13 Reasons Why will return to the streaming site later this spring. However, the series has begun to promote its return.

Earlier this month, the programme unveiled a warning video starring the show’s actors to caution viewers on the controversial content. The teen drama tackles suicide, self-harm and suicide, with the second run expected to focus on the aftermath of Jessica Davis’ (played by Alisha Boe) sexual assault. When the series returns, executive producer Brian Yorkey revealed that Hannah Baker’s (Katherine Langford) peers would be given the chance to tell their side of the story. He told Radio Times: “There are at least 12 kids that have another version of those events that we haven’t really heard from yet, so I think there’s quite a bit more of Hannah’s story to tell. “I don’t think Hannah told any untruths on her tapes. I think she told her story and she claimed her narrative.”

Meanwhile, actress Katherine said fans should be prepared to see a different side to her character Hannah. Speaking on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this month about season two, she dished: “It was a very different season to season one for a lot of reasons. “But I am super grateful to be asked back, because I think there’s so much left to tell and I’m really glad we got to focus on some important storylines for other characters. “The Hannah in season one is gone. She is still there this season, but I would prepare audiences to see a different Hannah this season.” Another character who will is expected to play a central part in the second run is Mr. Porter (Derek Luke).

In season one, fans saw Hannah try to get help from Mr Porter after she was raped by Bryce but he failed to support her. Series two will focus on Mr Porter struggling to come to terms with Hannah’s suicide as he realises he should have done more to help. Showrunner Brian Wright previously commented: “Mr. Porter, in particular, will be coming to terms with the mistakes that he made, with the ways that he let her down.” As well as the original cast, there will a number of newcomers when 13 Reasons Why returns to Netflix. This will include coaches, parents of students and lawyers, as it has been rumoured that the Baker family will sue Liberty High for Hannah’s suicide.

Some fans are convinced Netflix is releasing '13 Reasons Why' Season 2 this weekend.

It’s been almost a year since 13 Reasons Why premiered on Netflix. While Season 2 of the highly anticipated series has a teaser trailer, Netflix has not announced a release date. This has led to fan theories that Netflix will release 13 Reasons Why Season 2 this weekend.

A poster featuring Jessica Davis (played by Alisha Boe) has been circulating on social media showing 13 Reasons Why Season 2 with a March 31 release date. Several tweets touting this release date have garnered several retweets and likes, which has fans convinced that the series is due to premiere imminently.

However, the poster is fake and the premiere date for the second season is unknown.

The Daily Express reports that Netflix may opt to release the second season without an announcement. However, the publication states that it is unlikely to arrive this weekend because some fans were granted access to an early screening to watch the series before it is released.

The early screening is reportedly taking place in Los Angeles on the following dates: Friday, March 30; Saturday, March 31; and Wednesday, April 4.

Therefore, this makes the March 31 release date highly improbable.

The teaser trailer for the second season has over 11 million views on the series’ official Twitter account and more views on other platforms. The highly anticipated series will likely bring huge ratings to Netflix.

Due to the suicide controversy surrounding the first season, Netflix has added a warning telling viewers who are struggling with mental illness that the series may not be suitable for them.

The cast members also give details on where viewers should go to seek help. Every episode of Season 2 will include warnings and the PSA video will appear before the premiere episode begins.

The second season will explore the other students’ version of events surrounding Hannah Baker’s suicide. Clay and Hannah’s mother will continue to struggle with her unexpected death, and the second season will address the cliffhangers of the first season.

Netflix has not announced a release date. However, the series will likely air this summer.
