Stunning: Margot Robbie made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday as the chat show host asked her to tell the story of how they met
Before sharing the funny memory she said of her 28-year-old director partner: 'I'm scared because my husband is going to kill me for telling this story but it's my favorite story ever!'
She explained that the two had delayed their honeymoon in order to film I, Tonya at the beginning of 2017.
Then in the spring the couple headed to Tahiti and ended up at this beautiful luxury hotel.
They decide to hit the gym and before heading there, Margot's husband decides to make a bold fashion choice as she explained: 'Tom puts on these shorts that are like his oldest gym shorts and they are tiny.
Gorgeous: The 27-year-old actress was dressed casually chic in a checked double breasted coat over a red blouse, blue jeans, and black heels
And they are really short and there is nothing underneath, so you know, he gets on the bicycle to ride there and I was like "whoa! Babe you cannot wear those shorts, they're like I can see everything!"
'And he's like "Oh c'mon, who are we going to run into? Who is going to be here?"'
Margot agreed with him and they proceeded to the tiny gym where they run into Ellen, Portia, and the 44th president of the United States.

Making a splash: The 28-year-old director (pictured on the trip in April) had made the bold choice of wearing very tiny shorts for a gym session
Leader: To their surprise, former US President Barack Obama was at the gum
As if the wardrobe choice wasn't already embarrassing enough for Tom, things got even more awkward as the Oscar-favorite said that they all had to participate in a stretching class together.
Margot said: 'Tom, meanwhile, is not trying to reveal anything and he's dying and I'm crying so much that I'm about to break a rib.'
She explained that the gym instructor kept telling her husband to lunge more and as he's trying to do so cross-legged more pressure was added as he was in Obama's way as he was putting away some weights.
Funny: The talk show host ended the segment by hilariously gifting two pairs of shorts to Margot's husband Tom which were much longer and had a mesh netting on the inside
The Aussie star laughed as she said: 'The whole thing was so absurd!'
Margot said eventually Tom decided to cover up with a towel as they worked out as Margot said: 'And Ellen looks over and says "Boy those were the wrong shorts to wear today!"'

The two certainly seemed to have a blast together as Margot has worked with Chris' brother Liam twice in her career.
Ultimately it was Chris who reigned victorious as he was given a jar of Vegemite for his efforts.
Margot is currently a favorite to receive a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her role in I, Tonya which is currently in theaters now.

Um, is #HoneymoonGoals a thing?
The last person you expect to run into on your honeymoon is America’s favorite talk show host, let alone a former president, but so the story goes for “I, Tonya” star Margot Robbie.
The Australian actress tied the knot with husband Tom Ackerley in December 2016, but they took their honeymoon months later in Tahiti. After a few days on a secluded part of the island, the couple finished off the trip at a luxury hotel.
Robbie recounted the trip during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday, including the very key detail that Ackerley was wearing revealing short shorts at the time.
“Tom puts on these shorts, his oldest gym shorts, and they’re tiny,” Robbie said. “And they’re like really short and there’s nothing underneath, so he gets on his bicycle to ride there and I’m like, ‘Whoa. Babe, you cannot wear those shorts. They’re like ― you can see everything.’ And he’s like ‘C’mon. Who are we going to run into?’”
That’s when they bumped into DeGeneres her wife Portia de Rossi, and Barack Obama, who were exercising in the hotel gym.
“The whole thing was so absurd,” Robbie said.
“It was a very confined space, and we then had to do this whole, like, class, this stretching class, and Tom meanwhile is trying to like, not reveal anything,” she added. “And he’s dying and I’m crying so much, I’m about to crack a rib.”
Robbie did, however, get some face time with Obama, who apparently is a major fan of the actress, calling her “very talented.”
Margot Robbie's first encounter with Ellen DeGeneres was unexpected and mortifying for her husband, producer Tom Ackerley, but the chance meeting in Tahiti is still Robbie's "favorite story ever."

On Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, DeGeneres requested that Robbie tell the audience how the two women first met, and the I, Tonya star kindly obliged.
"I'm scared because my husband's going to kill me for telling this story, but it's my favorite story ever and it's the story of how Ellen and I met," Robbie said as a disclaimer, setting the scene for the chain of unusual events that unfolded last year.
The actress described how she and Ackerley were on their honeymoon last year in Tahiti and had spent four days in what she called a "Robinson Crusoe"-esque shack, cut off from other people and amenities. For the last few days of the honeymoon, however, the pair indulged in a stay at a luxury hotel.
"We get there but it's raining, and we're like – oh, we by the way, look disgusting because we hadn't seen our reflection for four days," she said, explaining that they asked the people at the resort what there was to do when it was raining. They were told there was a spa and a gym they could try out.
"We get changed to go to the gym and Tom puts on these shorts that are like, his oldest gym shorts, and they're tiny," Robbie said, noting that Ackerley would easily flash unsuspecting bystanders while riding stationary bikes with those shorts. "I was like, 'Babe, you cannot wear those shorts … I can see everything.'"
"And he was like, 'Oh, c'mon. Who are we going go to run into?'"
Turns out, the newlyweds ran into not just DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, but also the former president of the United States, Barack Obama, who happened to be at the resort writing his book.
The "starstruck" pair introduced themselves, and the small group spent the remainder of the afternoon working out together in what Robbie called a "stretching class" that further flustered her husband. By the very end of the class, Ackerley, Robbie said, had done everything humanly possible not to expose and embarrass himself in front of their famous fellow gym-goers, including doing lunges with his "legs crossed."
It was at that point that DeGeneres looked over at Ackerley, who had a towel over his crotch while doing the final stretch of the class, and said, "Boy, those were the wrong shorts to wear today."
