Iflix, a video on demand service provider, will telecast all Malaysia Super League (MSL) and Malaysia Cup matches in addition to selected ties in the FA Cup and the second tier Malaysia Premier League in 2018.
"This is a historical deal. Never before have all matches been televised and we are excited of the prospects," said FMLLP chief executive officer Kevin Ramalingam.

"We wanted an inclusive deal that could reach the masses. Football should be accessible to everyone. The module is a free one for 2018 and we will slowly move into a subcription in later years. It will not cost more than RM20 monthly then."
Iflix have committed for 10 years and will invest RM300million - including RM200million for promotion and production of new programmmes.
FMLLP are hoping to raise RM100million per annum from broadcast and marketing rights in coming years and Ramalingam is confident of meeting two-thirds of that in 2018.
FMLLP have also agreed a marketing deal with Ampersand worth RM20million per year and are expected to announce broadcast deals with traditional broadcasters this week.
FourFourTwo understands RTM, Media Prima and TM will also telecast matches live this season.

Liga Malaysia terus melakukan inovasi. Setelah mendatangkan cukup banyak pemain kunci di tim nasional negara-negara Asia Tenggara, kali ini liga domestik di Negeri Jiran tersebut melakukan gebrakan dalam hal siaran langsung. Mulai musim 2018, Liga Super Malaysia bisa disaksikan via streaming di iFlix dengan kualitas hingga 4K alias Ultra HD.
Kabar baik ini disampaikan oleh presiden federasi sepak bola Malaysia (FAM), Tunku Ismail bin Sultan Ibrahim, dalam acara peresmian kerja sama operator Liga Malaysia (FMLLP) dengan pihak iFlix kemarin (29/1).
“Rakyat Malaysia di mana saja bisa menikmatinya tanpa biaya. Dengan iFlix, kami akan mengembalikan sepak bola pada rakyat, sekaligus membawa kembali kejayaan di masa lampau,” tuturnya.
Senada dengan presiden FAM, Patrick Grove, selaku perwakilan dari iFlix juga mengungkapkan kegembiraan serupa terkait layanan streaming Liga Malaysia di musim baru.
“Kerja sama dengan FMLLP ini mewujudkan apa yang ingin kami capai. Bersama-sama, kami akan menyajikan tayangan sepak bola berkualitas, tersedia untuk semua orang, tak terhalang oleh perbedaan geografis maupun status ekonomi,” terangnya.
Streaming Liga Malaysia berkualitas resolusi 4K ini bisa disaksikan mulai musim baru yang akan digelar pada 3 Februari 2018. Nantinya, semua pertandingan Liga Super Malaysia sebanyak 132 laga bisa disaksikan langsung di iFlix, ditambah 64 laga Piala Malaysia. Liga Primer Malaysia juga bisa disaksikan, yang akan ditayangkan satu laga tiap pekannya.
Dengan kerja sama ini, streaming Liga Malaysia diperkirakan akan mencakup 20 juta penonton di Malaysia tiap pekannya, karena siaran langsung pertandingan bisa diakses di manapun dalam genggaman, melalui smartphone .
Sebagai informasi tambahan, 4K adalah kualitas resolusi siaran atau tayangan terbaik yang ada sejauh ini. Resolusi ini juga dikenal dengan sebutan Ultra HD (High-Definition), yang tetap sangat jernih walau ditayangkan di televisi dengan ukuran 50 inci ke atas.
Sementara itu untuk Liga Indonesia , kualitas tayangan streaming terbaik sejauh ini masih berada di resolusi 720p, itupun hanya bisa dinikmati oleh beberapa kalangan karena membutuhkan kecepatan internet yang mumpuni, yang tentunya membutuhkan biaya lumayan tinggi.

If you’re one of the many die-hard football fans in Malaysia, today I shall be the bearer of good news because soon you’ll be able to watch live matches pretty much anywhere you have an internet connection thanks to iflix.
Yep, video streaming service iflix has partnered with Football Malaysia to bring live matches straight to your smartphone, tablet, computer, TV and wherever else you can get iflix on. This partnership means that iflix will now stream every Liga Super, Piala Malaysia, Piala Sumbangsih, selected Liga Premier and marquee Piala FA matches exclusively on the brand new “Football Malaysia on iflix” channel. What’s more, users will also get access to stuff like match highlights and player interviews too.
Perhaps the most interesting part about this is that this partnership wants to “bring football back to the people”. To accomplish this, iflix says that pretty much anyone with access to the internet will be able to live stream four Liga Super matches weekly, 46 tournament matches and selected Liga Premier matches for free “regardless of their subscription status”. In addition to that, new users and those with an active iflix subscription will have access and be able to enjoy all the matches and features.
Although that sounds like you can stream matches (whether it’s a select few or all the matches) regardless of whether you’re subscribed or not, we reached out to iflix and they have confirmed that you will still need an active iflix account to watch the matches. Even if it’s a trial account, you will still have access to all of the matches.
All of this will be beginning on the 3rd of February 2018 so you can stay tuned for that to show up on your iflix app. This isn’t the first time iflix has streamed live sports as they’re also streaming Indonesia’s Liga 1 football league, and have also streamed matches like the Mayweather vs McGregor fight in Indonesia, T10 Cricket in Bangladesh and even some esports titles like DOTA2.
