The word on the street, courtesy of the Steam Database Twitter account, is that the legendary Steam Summer Sale will start—gasp!—tomorrow.

"Mysterious" Steam cards appeared on the site last week, bolstering the likelihood that the leaked date is accurate, but of course it is: Steam sale date leaks are as regular and predictable as the sales themselves, and I can't remember the last time a leaked date was wrong. Precedent also backs it up. Last year's Summer Sale started on June 22, and in 2016 it was June 23. You might see a pattern emerging there.
Steam Summer Sales are usually big ones, so you can probably expect the queue-browsing and card-collecting activities we've come to expect alongside the usual bevy of bargoons. We'll let you know when it's live. In the meantime, the Itch.io Summer Sale is live, and they've got some good deals on a wide range of indie games. Check it out here.
For PC gaming aficionados, the seasonal Steam Sale events are among the most anticipated happenings of the year. The big kahuna, the Steam Summer Sale 2018, is the next Steam Sale – and it’s imminent according to a yet-to-be-confirmed leak.
The Steam Database Twitter account, which has often and accurately predicted the start of sales in the recent past, says the event will begin on Thursday June 21.
In a tweet at 6:04pm UK time on June 20, the @SteamDB account said the event will commence in 24 hours.
Considering previous form it appears the event will start at 6:00pm in Britain, and 1:00PM Eastern /10:00am Pacific Time in the United States.

SteamDB’s prediction also ties in with previous Summer Sale dates. It began on June 23 in 2016 and on June 22 in 2017. All signs continue to point to the tradition continuing in 2018 with a June 21 start date.
PC gamers can expect hundreds of significant discounts on popular games and downloadable content throughout the weekend. It’s not rare to see prices drop as much as 75% on top games through the weekend.
There’s no news yet on which games will be available during the timed releases, but we’ll be keeping you posted on the best deals throughout the Steam Summer Sale.
If you can’t wait for the action, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is now available for $5 off until July 10. The discount commemorates 50 million in global sales and 400 million players overall.

What is Steam?
Steam is a digital shop, a bit like the Google Play and iTunes app stores - but for PCs, not mobile phones and tablets.
Gaming company Valve launched Steam in 2004, and it now has the biggest catalogue of games to buy and download of any online site.
Steam is also a social networking site - with discussion groups, a messaging system and on-site rewards.
