One of Tom Hanks' most powerful films is showing tonight on Channel 4 and we know you'll not want to miss it.
It's a late starter, and a long runner - clocking in at over three hours total play time - but you've got another bank holiday tomorrow so don't even worry about it.
The Green Mile is a 1999 film, starring Tom Hanks, Sam Rockwell and Michael Duncan Clarke, based on Stephen King's best-selling novel of the same name.
It's a bit of a marathon, particularly after accounting for TV ad breaks, but for a chilled out evening the emotive narrative weaved by Frank Darabont is second-to-none.
The supernatural prison drama, set in the 1930s, focuses on Michael Duncan Clarke's convicted child murderer, sitting on death row.
He comes across as a gentle giant and the guards find it difficult to believe he is capable of such a horrific crime. What's more, the man appears to demonstrate miraculous healing powers.
Head guard Paul Edgecombe (Hanks) wonders whether the convict could help save the life of the prison warden's dying wife.

Director Darabont also collaborated with Hanks on The Shawshank Redemption, another Stephen King adaptation, and the pair reunited for The Green Mile.
The film's stirring score also comes from Darabont's Shawshank collaborator Thomas Newman.
It received four Oscar nominations, including best picture and best supporting actor for relative newcomer Michael Clarke Duncan, and sits in IMDb's top 50 films at #31.
The Green Mile is on Channel 4 at 10.05pm, Sunday 1 April.

American Idol 2018 is back beginning this Sunday (April 1) and Monday (April 2) with more rounds of performances and eliminations.
On Sunday’s episode, the remaining 75 or so contestants who survived last week’s Group Rounds will perform ONE MORE Hollywood Week solo. Afterward, the Top 50 will be revealed via that tried and true American Idol dramatic device–THE ROOMS OF DOOM.
The singers will be divided into 3 rooms, with each group being told separately by the judges–Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie whether they made the cut or not. Emotions run the gamut during the rooms: From celebration as a room learns they’ve advanced. To fear as a nearby room hearing the happy noise realizes their chances have just become slimmer. To anguish when a group of contestants learn that their American Idol journey is over.

On Monday’s (April 2) episode, The Top 50 move on to the Showcase Round. Each singer will perform yet another solo. But this time, they’ll perform in a club–Exchange LA–in front of the judges and a LIVE audience. The showcase round always delivers several top notch performances. Hopefully, as in the past, FULL Showcase performances from the Top 24 will be uploaded to VEVO.
