VIVA – Baru saja mengumumkan rencana pernikahannya, Minhwan FT Island sudah diterpa gosip. Kabar pernikahan yang terkesan tiba-tiba dan diumumkan langsung oleh Minhwan lewat akun media sosial miliknya, diikuti gosip yang mengatakan bahwa calon istrinya sedang berbadan dua. Yulhee yang merupakan mantan anggota girlband LABOUM, dikabarkan oleh media setempat tak hanya sedang mempersiapkan pernikahan sejak akhir tahun, tetapi juga sedang menanti kelahiran buah hati mereka. Dilansir Allkpop , Kamis 4 Januari 2018, Yulhee dikabarkan sedang hamil dan telah memberitahukan hal tersebut pada teman dan keluarga.
Sebelumnya, Minhwan menuliskan surat cukup panjang yang ditujukan pada penggemarnya. Surat itu berisi ungkapan perasaannya saat ini, serta keinginannya untuk menikahi Yulhee. "Aku sampai pada keputusan untuk mengungkap kejujuran hatiku setelah lama berpikir dan khawatir, bagaimana kalian akan menyikapi berita ini," tulisnya sebelum mengatakan bahwa dirinya akan segera menikah. Tak hanya sekali pasangan selebriti ini memberi kabar mengejutkan. Sebelumnya, pasangan ini juga tiba-tiba mengungkapkan hubungan asmara mereka saat Yulhee mengunggah foto yang kemudian langsung dihapusnya. Foto tersebut memperlihatkan Yulhee yang sedang berada di kamar Minhwa.
With news of FTISLAND’s Minhwan and former LABOUM member Yulhee getting engaged, a media source reported that Yulhee is pregnant, leading to several speculations and rumors.

In response to these rumors of pregnancy, a source from LABOUM’s agency Global H Media stated, “The reason why we terminated our contract with Yulhee was because she no longer wished to be in the entertainment industry. When she left the group, she didn’t mention any news of marriage or pregnancy. Her managers didn’t know of her engagement either.”

A source from FTISLAND’s agency FNC Entertainment stated that they are currently checking with Minhwan to see if the rumors of pregnancy are true.
After confirming their relationship back in September, Minhwan announced on January 4 that he will be tying the knot with Yulhee.

Minhwan began, “I am writing this letter as there is news that I want to officially share with you first.”

He continued by sharing that there were difficult times, but him and his girlfriend relied on each other a lot and decided to tie the knot after confirming their love.
“Making the big life decision of marriage, I felt a lot of gratitude for the congratulatory messages from many people. I once again felt how there are so many people to be thankful for,” he added.
“When I shared the news with my family-like members who I have been with since before debut, they all sincerely congratulated me, and our friendship developed to be able to talk about a different kind of future.”
Minhwan concluded, “I don’t know how I should give back to you.. More than anything, I sincerely express my gratitude to all of you who are people I can be thankful for. As I have until now, I will never forget my gratitude towards all of you who have walked with me for over 10 years. I will work hard to give back diligently with music once again. Thank you so much.”
His agency FNC Entertainment confirmed that he will be marrying former LABOUM member Yulhee sometime this year. Further details will be revealed later on.
