Kendati demikian, Mourinho tak ingin hanya memuji Eriksen saja.

TOTTENHAM 4-2 OLYMPIAKOS | EL-ARABI (5), SEMEDO (19), ALLI (45), KANE (50-76), AURIER (73) It had looked like the Greek side were about to ruin Mourinho's big night as they capitalised on a truly woeful opening 30 minutes by Spurs to lead 2-0 after 20 minutes thanks to goals from Youssef El Arabi and Ruben Semedo. Dele Alli's reply just before the break proved pivotal as it gave Mourinho's men a base to produce a fine second-half blitz, with Harry Kane grabbing a brace and Serge Aurier capping a fine performance with the goal of the night. Kane's double sent him into the record books as he is now the fastest player to 20 Champions League goals, only needing 24 games. The victory, a second in two games for Mourinho, means that Spurs can go to Bayern Munich in a fortnight with their place in the last 16 already secured, though they are unable to top Group B even if they win in Germany. But the manner of their early performance could have the alarm bells ringing for the new boss, who saw his side produce a display that had all the hallmarks of the end of Mauricio Pochettino's reign. Tottenham XI: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Rose, Dier, Winks, Dele, Lucas, Son, Kane Olympiakos XI: Jose Sa, Elabdellaoui, Semedo, Meriah, Tsimikas Camara, Guilherme, Bouchalakis, Daniel Podence, El Arabi, Giorgos Masouras Youssef El-Arabi opens the scoring for Olympiakos with powerful effort from distance Ruben Semedo grabs a second for the visitors - converting from point-blank range Dele Alli capitalises on terrible Olympiakos error to pull one back Harry Kane equalises in the 50th-minute - Lucas Moura assist Serge Aurier gives Tottenham the lead with powerful strike Harry Kane gives Tottenham a two-goal lead, heading home Eriksen cross

TOTTENHAM 4-2 OLYMPIAKOS FT: And that’s that. Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham have qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League. Great comeback from Spurs and fully deserved their victory in the end. Tighten that defence and Jose may have a side capable of reaching another final. 90: Well it almost feels like the perfect situation for Jose Mourinho. His side have scored seven goals in his two fixtures as manager but haven’t defended well. And if there’s anything Jose can do - it’s fix a leaky defence. Three minutes added time. 89: Extraordinary game unfolding at the Bernabeu this evening. Real Madrid were two-goals up and cruising their way to victory but PSG have hit back twice in three minutes to level at 2-2. Kylian Mbappe and Pablo Sarabia with the goals.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

86: Christian Eriksen plays a short free-kick to Son, who strides inside before hitting the deck under a strong challenge. No penalty. 83: Dele Alli heads off for a well-earned break. He gets a standing-ovation from supporters as Tanguy Ndombele replaces him. 80: Well ten minutes left for Harry Kane to complete his hat-trick - and I wouldn’t bet against it with Olympiakos falling apart. Kane has scored 20 Champions League goals in just 24 appearances - the fastest a player has reached 20 goals in the competition's history.

TOTTENHAM 4-2 OLYMPIAKOS | KANE 76: GOAL! Well what were you worried about? Harry Kane grabs his second of the evening to put Tottenham out of sight and secure Champions League qualification for Jose Mourinho’s side. The Tottenham striker gets on the end of an inch-perfect Christian Eriksen free-kick. TOTTENHAM 3-2 OLYMPIAKOS | AURIER 73: GOAL! TURNAROUND COMPLETE! Tottenham have the lead thanks to an unlikely hero - Serge Aurier! Midfielder Dele Alli crosses for the advancing right-back, who arrives and leathers it in on the half-volley. Great hit. Jose Mourinho goes bonkers and hugs everyone in sight.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

72: Tottenham supporters might just have mixed feelings tonight. Christian Eriksen has made it perfectly clear he wants to leave the club either in January or next summer - but he’s playing so well. He’s like the Eriksen of old, linking play, finding space and creating countless chances. 70: Danger! Christian Eriksen is stood over a free-kick INCHES outside the penalty area. The stadium falls silent in expectation… WIDE. Powerfully struck but just past the right post. 67: This is SO open now. Tottenham and Olympiakos are both throwing caution to the wind as they search for a winner. It’s the every definition of end-to-end stuff in north London. 64: Redemption for Yassine Meriah? Sort of. The defender who made that catastrophic error to allow Dele Alli to score prevents a certain goal as Son looks for Harry Kane in the middle. 61: Olympiakos haven’t just accepted defeat. The visitors have composed themselves and are turning the heat up on Tottenham, who look more ragged since they equalised. Toby Alderweireld booked for an elbow on Olympiakos goalscorer Youssef El-Arabi.

58: Lucas Moura isn’t happy to be taken off. The Brazilian is replaced by Moussa Sissoko. 55: It’s taken a while but Manchester City have taken the lead against Shakhtar Donetsk thanks to Ilkay Gundogan. A point will see Pep Guardiola’s side qualify for the knockout stages. 53: Jose Mourinho high fives and gives the ball boy a hug for this role in the equaliser. The little lad was absolutely on point when lobbing it back to Serge Aurier. TOTTENHAM 2-2 OLYMPIAKOS | KANE 50: GOAL! Cometh the hour, cometh Harry Kane to equalise for Tottenham! The move starts with some quick thinking from Serge Aurier, who takes a quick throw-in to find Lucas Moura down the right channel. He finds Kane waiting in the middle to convert from six yards out.

Trending

48: It should be 2-2! Jose Mourinho slaps his head and barks something at his assists after seeing Davinson Sanchez squander a glorious chance. Christian Eriksen sends another great delivery into the box where the defender heads against his own shoulder from point-blank range. 47: Now that’s classic Spurs. That’s what fans are used to seeing. Christian Eriksen bends a delicious ball in from deep and there’s Harry Kane and Dele Alli attacking it. Jose Sa just manages to win it. Already more purpose about this Tottenham side. TOTTENHAM 1-2 OLYMPIAKOS 45: And we’re back underway in north London. Funny to see a few replays of the Dele Alli goal. Jose Mourinho actually missed it because he was too busy complaining to the fourth official about something. No changes for either side.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

TOTTENHAM 1-2 OLYMPIAKOS HT: Difficult to summarise. Olympiakos probably deserve a two-goal lead because Spurs have been disjointed and fairly poor. Dele Alli’s gift has given Jose Mourinho a much-needed lifeline and you'd have to expect them to grab another in the second half. TOTTENHAM 1-2 OLYMPIAKOS | ALLI 45: GOAL! Oh… this is comical. Tottenham have been gifted a goal through Yassine Meriah, who looks to the sky and clenches his fists in frustration. Serge Aurier sends in a fairly routine cross from the right and the Olympiakos defender swings a leg and completely misses the ball. Alli can’t believe his luck and prods the ball past Jose Sa. 43: Fair play to the Tottenham fans. They haven’t turned on their side and are trying to galvanise them with a few chants. Not quite woking yet - these Spurs players look a bit fragile and vulnerable.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

40: I suppose the biggest worry for Tottenham fans will be that it’s not obvious what the plan is. Plenty of high balls forward but second balls aren’t being won and Olympiakos are dealing with it all too easily. Ruben Semedo (booked) fouls Son just outside the penalty area and Tottenham have themselves a free-kick in a very dangerous position. Christian Eriksen strolls over to take it but Harry Kane pulls rank before slamming it just over. 37: This is the first time a team managed by Jose Mourinho has been 2-0 down in the opening 20 minutes of a Champions League game since February 2002 (Porto v Real Madrid), his second game in charge in the competition. 34: Too many touches! Harry Winks brings it forward before finding Harry Kane. The England talisman should flick it first time but holds on to it too long and Olympiakos clear. The travelling fans applaud striker Giorgos Masouras for somehow holding the ball up by himself and drawing the foul. 31: Well the arrival of Christian Eriksen has left things… a wee bit disorganised for the hosts. Not quite sure is supposed to partner Harry Winks in the middle of the park because it looks like a front five right now. 28: It’s been 28 minutes and Jose Mourinho has already hooked Eric Dier - he’s back! Eric Dier looked heavy and sluggish and seems to have taken the embarrassment quite well. Christian Eriksen takes his place.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

25: Harry Kane fires wide from an offside position. Konstantinos Tsimikas, whose name I will copy and paste all evening, then strides the length of the field before Lucas Moura fouls him. Again Spurs struggle to deal with the set-piece but Son does manage to hack it clear. 22: Looks like Jose Mourinho has a bigger job on his hands than he thought! Four goals conceded in 110 minutes of his tenure. “Spurs' new manager bounce currently resembling the kind of bounce you might expect to get from a house brick,” says Tom on Twitter. TOTTENHAM 0-2 OLYMPIAKOS | SEMEDO 19: GOAL! Erm… I have no words. Olympiakos are leading Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham 2-0 in the Champions League. The Greek side win the corner and Spurs simply don’t deal with it. The ball is allowed to slide into the six-yard box where an unmarked Ruben Semedo arrives to bundle it in. A deserved lead and a silent stadium. 16: Close! Jose Sa makes a cracking save to deny Son. The Spurs favourite glances a corner towards goal and Olympiakos’ stopper parries it clear.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

13: We’ve seen a decent response from Spurs. Plenty of purpose but not a great deal of guile or precision. The kind of performance that always brings the question of ‘what to do with Christian Eriksen' into the equation. 10: Since the start of the 2017-18 season, Tottenham Hotspur have conceded more Champions League goals than any other team (37). 9: If I know Jose Mourinho, and I don’t, he will be absolutely livid with that goal. Static Tottenham defenders with absolutely nobody closing down Youssef El-Arabi. Danny Rose and Harry Winks will probably shoulder the blame for that one. Both MIA. TOTTENHAM 0-1 OLYMPIAKOS | EL-ARABI 6: GOAL! Well that wasn’t in the script on Jose Mourinho’s home debut! Olympiakos take the lead in the sixth minute with a dazzling strike from Youssef El-Arabi. He cuts inside from the left and has acres of space and time to fizz a low, skidding effort beyond Paulo Gazzaniga.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

5: I’ve got a lot of time for Daniel Podence. The Portuguese winger has quick feet and isn’t scared of running at defenders. Anyway, he strides down the right before running out of options. Giorgos Masouras then fires a deflected effort straight at Gazzaniga. Decent start for the visitors. 3: Jose Mourinho’s 148th Champions League encounter tonight. He’s won the competition twice so I don’t think I’ll be questioning too many of his selection ideas having only won the UCL on Football Manager. TOTTENHAM 0-0 OLYMPIAKOS 1: And we’re underway as Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham look to secure qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League. And d’ya know what? I suspect they’ll do it in style.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

Final scores… 19:55: Club Brugge secured a point away to Galatasaray with a 93rd-minute equaliser that ruined my accumulator. Well done to them, I guess… Bayer Leverkusen grabbed all three points away to Lokomotiv Moscow winning 2-0. That result puts them to within a point of Atletico Madrid, who travel to Juventus tonight. Interesting. It’s loud… 19:50: These Olympiakos fans aren’t mucking around. They are heavy outsiders tonight but that’s not stopped a never-ending chorus of chants. Bouncing they are folks, bouncing I tell ya!

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

Twitter round-up James: Olympiakos fans currently shaking their fists at each other and shouting. A lot. Paul: I’ve still got doubts about Jose Mourinho but for the first time in months I’m looking forward to a Tottenham game... I loved Mauricio Pochettino but it was time for a change. Come on you Spurs! Richard: I’ve laughed too myself a few times today. Get in a time machine to 10 years ago, and tell yourself that in 10 years time, Spurs, led by Jose Mourinho, will walk out into our new 62,000 capacity home built in White Hart Lane to play a Champions League game!

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

And another… 19:30: Clubs looking to sign Tottenham wantaway Christian Eriksen will have to double his current wages. That’s according to reports in Italy, who claim the player’s agent has recently held talks with Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan. It’s said the meeting took place between Inter chief executive Giuseppe Marotta and Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots in Milan. And it’s said the Denmark international wants a four-year deal worth £165k per week - more than double his current £75k per week wages.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

How much?! 19:20: So, with just 36 days until the transfer window opens - rumours are already in full swing. The arrival of Jose Mourinho has led to increased expectations of signings at Tottenham - despite the fact he’s publicly revealed that he doesn’t want any fresh faces. And apparently Mourinho has asked his agent Jorge Mendes to keep him informed about any updates regarding Ruben Dias (£60m) and Bruno Fernandes (£65m). Mourinho is said to be very keen on the two highly-rated stars ahead of the January and summer transfer window…

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

Are Olympiakos any good? 19:15: You know what - they aren’t bad. Pedro Martins’ side have enjoyed a strong start to the season and sit top of the Greek Super League table after 11 games. Their position at the summit, though, is only on goal difference, ahead of PAOK Salonika, and a number of disappointing away draws have led to criticism from the media, most recently at bottom-club Panionios at the weekend. Still, their pursuit of the title will be welcomed - Olympiakos have spent two seasons out of the winners' circle in their domestic league, which incredibly is the longest such stint since the mid-1990s.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

Twitter reaction Joe: Wow! Feels very strange to see a largely unchanged starting XI. Maybe Jose Mourinho knows best… Max: Come on you Spurs! Dele Alli, Lucas Moura, Son and Harry Kane starting together, again! Could get used to this Jose Mourinho bloke. Zaman: That’s a strong squad with Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon on the bench. Big win coming up!

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

What’s at stake for City? 19:00: Should be a simple enough evening for Manchester City. Should. Manchester City will seal their spot in the last 16 if they avoid defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk and will be group winners with victory at the Etihad Stadium. Shakhtar will progress if they win in Manchester and Dinamo Zagrab lose at Atalanta by virtue of away goals scored in their head-to-head games. Atalanta will not qualify if they fail to beat Dinamo or Shakhtar beat City.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

The Starting XI… 18:50: No messing around from Jose Mourinho. He wants the job done and dusted tonight and has made just one change to the side that beat West Ham on Saturday. Danny Rose in for the injured Ben Davies. Tottenham XI: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Rose, Dier, Winks, Dele, Lucas, Son, Kane. Subs: Austin, Vertonghen, Sessegnon Sissoko, Ndombele, Eriksen, Lo Celso. Olympiakos XI: Jose Sa, Elabdellaoui, Semedo, Meriah, Tsimikas Camara, Guilherme, Bouchalakis, Daniel Podence, El Arabi Giorgos Masouras. Subs: Benzia, Guerrero, Allain, Valbuena Papadopoulos, Torosidis, Randjelovic.

What’s on? 18:45: More than you can shake a stick at! We have six Champions League fixtures to look forward to this evening with a couple of what I’d colloquially describe as bangers. Juventus vs Atletico Madrid should be a real battle in Turin. Juventus have already qualified and Diego Simeone will be desperate to get a result. Real Madrid also welcome PSG to the Bernabeu having been thumped by the French champions in the reverse fixture. Other games include: Atalanta vs Dinamo Zagreb, Red Star vs Bayern Munich and Manchester City vs Shakhtar Donetsk.

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

Dream big, Jose! 18:40: Jose Mourinho is back in the Champions League and would love to add a third crown with Tottenham this season. Quite funny to hear him label himself the 'humble one' before reminding everyone of his record in this competition in the very next breath. "I love the competition as much as everyone in football," he said. "It's something that everybody dreams about, to win it. Not everyone has the privilege to be a Champions League winner, which I was happy enough to do twice. "Do I want to win it a third time? Of course, I would love it but I know the difficulties of it.”

Tottenham vs Olympiakos LIVE: Champions League score, team news and updates

How thing stand… 18:35: Bayern Munich will be crowned group winners if they defeat Red Star Belgrade or Tottenham fail to beat Olympiakos, having already booked their place in the next round. Spurs will join them if they avoid defeat at home to Olympiakos and Red Star Belgrade fail to beat Bayern in Serbia. Red Star must beat Bayern or hope Spurs do not defeat Olympiakos to keep their hopes of advancing alive, likewise with the Greek side having to win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
