Kevin-Prince Boateng joins Barcelona on loan from Sassuolo


Jakarta - Barcelona mengumumkan transfer Kevin-Prince Boateng . Kesepakatan telah terjalin dengan klub pemilik Boateng, Sassuolo . Kabar transfer Boateng sebelumnya relatif tak terendus, namun bereskalasi dengan cepat ketika rumornya baru merebak. Selasa (22/1/2019) dinihari WIB ini, Barcelona menyatakan kesepakatan sudah terjalin.

Boateng akan dipinjam sampai akhir musim. Dalam kesepakatan ini, tercantum pula klausul untuk mempermanenkan si pemain dengan biaya 8 juta euro. "FC Barcelona dan US Sassuolo sudah sampai ke kesepakatan atas peminjaman Kevin-Prince Boateng untuk sisa musim 2018/19. Kesepakatan ini termasuk opsi membeli seharga 8 juta euro," ungkap pernyataan resmi Blaugrana . Selanjutnya Boateng akan menjalani penandatanganan kontrak pada Selasa pagi waktu Barcelona, diikuti sesi foto. Boateng lantas akan diperkenalkan ke media pada siang harinya. Boateng merupaka pemain yang bisa ditempatkan sebagai penyerang maupun gelandang serang. Musim ini dia bermain 15 kali untuk Sassuolo dengan torehan lima gol dan dua assist. Mantan pemain AC Milan dan Schalke 04 ini diyakini didatangkan untuk menjadi opsi di lini depan Barcelona yang memang tipis. Di luar Luis Suarez, Barcelona tak punya sosok penyerang murni lain di depan. Boateng sendiri sudah tak asing lagi dengan atmosfer La Liga. Pemain 31 tahun ini pernah bermain untuk Las Palmas selama semusim pada 2016/2017.




Barcelona mendapat amunisi tambahan hingga akhir musim ini. Kevin Prince Boateng akan bergabung dengan Barca dengan status pemain pinjaman dari Sassuolo.




Boateng has scored four goals in 13 league games for Sassuolo

Former Tottenham midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has joined Barcelona on loan for the remainder of the season.

The La Liga leaders have the option to sign the 31-year-old from Serie A side Sassuolo for a £7.1m fee in the summer.

Boateng joined Spurs from Hertha Berlin in 2007, but was soon sent on loan to Dortmund, then moved to Portsmouth.

The German-born ex-Ghana international also had two spells at AC Milan, and has also played for Schalke, Las Palmas and Frankfurt.


Kevin-Prince Boateng has confirmed he is joining Barcelona in a shock move from Italian side Sassuolo, with the former Portsmouth and Tottenham forward’s ‘s representatives having agreed terms over an initial loan move.

“Barca, I’m coming!” Boateng told Sky Sport in Italy. “I’m sad to leave Sassuolo but is a great chance,” he added.

Boateng also brushed off newspaper reports that he was a Real Madrid fan when growing up. “Don’t ask me about Real Madrid . . . it’s just the past,” he said. “I only want to focus on Barcelona, and I hope to score at the Bernabeu (in) the next Clasico”

Boateng, who spent two seasons at White Hart Lane before moving to Fratton Park in 2009, signed for Sassuolo in the summer having left Eintracht Frankfurt and has starred for Roberto De Zerbi’s side as they have cemented a mid-table position in Serie A.

The 31-year-old has scored five league goals so far despite missing several weeks due to injury, with Barca understood to have been impressed with his performances in a “false nine” role.

Boateng is expected to fly to Barcelona on Monday to complete his move, which is expected to include an option for Barcelona to purchase him for €8 million at the end of the season.
