Jakarta - Barcelona mengumumkan transfer Kevin-Prince Boateng . Kesepakatan telah terjalin dengan klub pemilik Boateng, Sassuolo . Kabar transfer Boateng sebelumnya relatif tak terendus, namun bereskalasi dengan cepat ketika rumornya baru merebak. Selasa (22/1/2019) dinihari WIB ini, Barcelona menyatakan kesepakatan sudah terjalin.
Boateng akan dipinjam sampai akhir musim. Dalam kesepakatan ini, tercantum pula klausul untuk mempermanenkan si pemain dengan biaya 8 juta euro. "FC Barcelona dan US Sassuolo sudah sampai ke kesepakatan atas peminjaman Kevin-Prince Boateng untuk sisa musim 2018/19. Kesepakatan ini termasuk opsi membeli seharga 8 juta euro," ungkap pernyataan resmi Blaugrana . Selanjutnya Boateng akan menjalani penandatanganan kontrak pada Selasa pagi waktu Barcelona, diikuti sesi foto. Boateng lantas akan diperkenalkan ke media pada siang harinya. Boateng merupaka pemain yang bisa ditempatkan sebagai penyerang maupun gelandang serang. Musim ini dia bermain 15 kali untuk Sassuolo dengan torehan lima gol dan dua assist. Mantan pemain AC Milan dan Schalke 04 ini diyakini didatangkan untuk menjadi opsi di lini depan Barcelona yang memang tipis. Di luar Luis Suarez, Barcelona tak punya sosok penyerang murni lain di depan. Boateng sendiri sudah tak asing lagi dengan atmosfer La Liga. Pemain 31 tahun ini pernah bermain untuk Las Palmas selama semusim pada 2016/2017.

Former Tottenham midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has joined Barcelona on loan for the remainder of the season.
The La Liga leaders have the option to sign the 31-year-old from Serie A side Sassuolo for a £7.1m fee in the summer.
Boateng joined Spurs from Hertha Berlin in 2007, but was soon sent on loan to Dortmund, then moved to Portsmouth.
The German-born ex-Ghana international also had two spells at AC Milan, and has also played for Schalke, Las Palmas and Frankfurt.

Kevin-Prince Boateng has arrived at Barcelona on loan for the rest of the season and will now share a dressing room with Lionel Messi.
The 31-year-old is the surprise choice from the Catalan club to provide some more attacking options to LaLiga Santander's current leaders.
The Ghanaian revealed his stance on the comparisons between the Argentine and Cristiano Ronaldo some years ago.
"For youngsters that are footballers, Ronaldo would have to be the best in the world," he said.
"He is the best example to focus on because he trains at his maximum and has talent.
"He works like a crazy person, he's passionate about what he does and about football. He always wants to be the best, always wants to be first in everything. He would have to be the model for everyone."
"But what Cristiano does works in this world, and only in this world," he said.
"Outside of this world, the best is Messi. Because he's incredible.
"He does things that nobody else can do. Because of this, I don't seem as of this world. Cristiano dominates this world and Messi is ahead of everyone."
Kevin-Prince Boateng speelt de rest van het seizoen op huurbasis voor FC Barcelona. De 31-jarige aanvaller, die ook als middenvelder uit de voeten kan, komt over van het Italiaanse US Sassuolo.
Barcelona bevestigde de komst van Boateng maandagavond, enkele uren nadat de in Duitsland geboren Ghanees international zelf al verkondigde naar de Spaanse topclub te verkassen.
"Het is vervelend om bij Sassuolo te vertrekken, maar een transfer naar Barcelona is voor mij een unieke kans", zei Boateng op een Italiaanse luchthaven tegen Sky Italy. "Ik hoop straks te scoren in de Clásico tegen Real Madrid."
Barcelona heeft bij de huurovereenkomst een optie tot koop bedongen. De Catalanen kunnen Boateng aan het einde van het seizoen voor een bedrag van acht miljoen euro definitief overnemen van Sassuolo.
Boateng, de broer van Bayern München-verdediger Jérome Boateng, was pas bezig aan zijn eerste seizoen bij Sassuolo. Zijn contract bij de huidige nummer twaalf van de Serie A loopt nog door tot medio 2021.
Boateng begon loopbaan bij Hertha BSC
Voor Boateng wordt het zijn tweede avontuur in Spanje, want in het seizoen 2016/2017 stond hij al onder contract bij Las Palmas. Boateng begon zijn loopbaan in 2005 bij Hertha BSC, waar hij de jeugdopleiding doorliep.
Daarna speelde hij achtereenvolgens voor Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Portsmouth, Genoa, AC Milan, Schalke 04, Las Palmas, Eintracht Frankfurt en dus Sassuolo.
Bij Barcelona wacht Boateng een flinke concurrentiestrijd, want trainer Ernesto Valverde heeft met Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembélé, Philippe Coutinho en Luis Suárez al de beschikking over een aantal goede aanvallers.
Barcelona is momenteel koploper in de Primera División met vijf punten voorsprong op naaste belager Atlético Madrid. Nummer drie Real heeft tien punten minder dan Barcelona, dat woensdag in de kwartfinales van de Copa del Rey in actie komt tegen Sevilla.
