A woman, who works close to the station, captured the moment one of the alleged gunmen was pulled out, apparently strapped to a stretcher and surrounded by cops, just after 6pm.

She told The Sun Online: "It was really dramatic. There was a real sense of confusion – no one knows what's going on and all of a sudden this guy is just pulled out on a stretcher.

“My heart was pounding.”

Another witnesses described the moment one of the suspects screamed "I've got nothing" as armed cops tackled him to the ground.

Shah Hassan, 40, saw the armed cops arrest one of the suspects as he stood in Bond Street shopping centre in the entrance to the Tube station.

He said: “The police came in and before I could even take my camera out, they had this guy and were shouting and screaming and ordering him to lie on the floor.

“They literally jumped on top of him and had their guns pointed at his head. Then they were kicking his legs straight and searching him.

“He was quite young - maybe in his 20s. He was just shouting ‘I’ve got nothing, I’ve got nothing’.

“This was all over in a matter of seconds. “

“Suddenly armed officers moved everybody back and this car sped up and pulled over outside the station.

"Two officers sprinted out of the car and into the station and dragged a guy out.

"They then put him into the car and drove away.

“Then another car pulled up and there were loads more officers with guns who pulled another guy out on a stretcher.

“I couldn’t see that clearly but it looked like he was restrained to the stretcher."
