The ongoing legal battle between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline has a new development.
In the last twist to the legal drama, attorneys for the 36-year-old singer are rebuffing attempts made by Federline, 40, to have the Grammy winner deposed in their ongoing child support dispute, TMZ reported Monday.
In new court filings, lawyers for the conservatorship for the singer said that making her do a deposition for Federline - who has asked the Make Me... singer for $25,000 extra a month for support for their sons Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11 - would waste her time and potentially put the boys in danger in making public where they are, where they attend school, and other personal details.
Legal battle: Attorneys for Britney Spears, 36, are rebuffing attempts made by her ex-husband Kevin Federline to get the singer to be deposed in their ongoing child support dispute
Attorneys representing the conservatorship - which is presided over by Britney's father Jamie Spears - told the court that exposing Britney's earnings would be redundant.
They added that it's clear she's earning big bucks as one of the most prominent entertainers of the past two decades.
They have requested to limit the information Federline can see, and seal off records to the public, TMZ reported.
Milestone: Kevin Federline was snapped in March in Las Vegas celebrating turning 40
Quality time: Britney was snapped with her sons Sean, 12, (L) and Jayden, 11, in May
Better times: Britney and Kevin, were husband and wife for just over two years prior to their November 2006 separation. They were snapped in LA earlier that year
Federline, who has four other children - two daughters with his wife Victoria Prince and a son and daughter with ex Shar Jackson - had gotten around $35,000 monthly from the outlet, TMZ previously reported.
The $35,000 includes a $20,000 base with an extra $15,000 a month for expenses related to educational and recreational activities.
The outlet previously reported that Jamie Spears is opening to bump up Federline's intake from Britney about $10,000 month'
Lawyers for Spears are pressing Federline for an accounting of his expenses, while Federline's team wants Spears to submit her contracts and expenses to be audited.
Britney Spears Forgets Where She Is While Performing at Brighton Pride: Watch
When you're a pop superstar as successful as Britney Spears, it’s easy to get confused about where you are at any given moment. The pop icon has toured all over the world for decades of her career, performing her hit songs to audiences of adoring, international fans.
Spears took to the stage at Brighton Pride in Preston Park this weekend to wow legions of her LGBTQ fans with the tour of her Las Vegas show Piece of Me. But as the singer prepped to take the show throughout the whole United Kingdom, she temporarily forgot where she was while onstage at the queer event.
In a video clip posted on Twitter, Spears can be seen turning to one of her dancers following a number, asking loudly, “Where are we?” When she was informed, she quickly turned around and shouted, “What’s up, Brighton Pride!”
Fans of the icon didn’t take offense to the moment, but instead used it as an example of why the “Gimme More” singer still remains a well-loved pop icon in this day and age. Read below for some of the best fan reactions to Britney’s brief onstage blunder.

Britney Spears is a creature of habit. Her red carpet style has stayed the same for almost a decade, and apparently her off-duty clothes have as well. The singer is currently traveling the world for her Piece of Me tour, and was photographed sightseeing with her sons, Sean and Jayden, on her most recent stop in Berlin while wearing athletic short-shorts, a green-and-white “Lucky Charm” shirt, and a pair of Adidas sneakers. If it weren’t for her sons, now 12 and 11 years old, it’d be hard to pin down just what year we were in. Just compare it to this video of her from Instagram in April or her getting some Starbucks in 2009.
The family, along with a serious-looking bodyguard, visited the Lustgarten park on Berlin’s Museum Island, and were photographed smiling and laughing while taking in the sights. Spears is scheduled to perform at the city’s Mercedes-Benz Arena on Monday evening.
On Saturday, she performed to a record-breaking crowd of 57,000 people at Preston Park for Brighton Pride in the U.K., her first time performing in the country since her Femme Fatale tour in 2011. She posted a photo of herself from the performance afterward on Instagram, writing, “I’ve always loved the UK and this night just made me love it even more.”
Spears has come a long way since 2007. She’s back to performing in arenas and looking as happy and bubbly as she did when she first came on the scene back in 1998. One thing that seems to stay the same, however, is her style. Spears’s graphic T-shirts and messy buns seem to be the only consistent and reliable things left in this world, and frankly, we’ll take it.
