Tekashi 6ix9ine was reportedly kidnapped and robbed early Sunday morning, and is currently recovering in a hospital.

According to TMZ, the 22-year-old Brooklyn rapper had returned home following a music video shoot when he was confronted by three hooded men blocking his driveway. The men pistol whipped 6ix9ine, knocking him unconscious, and proceeded to load him into the back of their vehicle. Once 6ix9ine regained consciousness, the men demanded money and jewelry or else they threatened to kill him. Two of the men then entered 6ix9ine’s home and robbed him of $750,000 in jewelry and between $15,000 and $20,000 in cash. Tekashi’s partner and daughter were inside the house but were not hurt.

TMZ reports that the gunmen then drove away with 6ix9ine still in the vehicle. At some point, 6ix9ine was able to open the door and jump out of the car. One of the men attempted to chase him down before returning to the vehicle and speeding off. 6ix9ine was able to flag another vehicle, who called 911.

6ix9ine is currently in the hospital.

Update – 1:00 p.m. ET: TMZ reports that 6ix9ine told a different story to police. In this version of events, 6ix9ine said he was confronted at a red light by two gunmen, who stole his driver’s iPhone and dragged 6ix9ine into their car. They then went to 6ix9ine’s house, where he was forced to hand over his jewelry to the men. He then managed to escape and called the police, but later became uncooperative. He also checked himself into the hospital.

Hours before the alleged incident, 6ix9ine released a brand new song called “FEFE” featuring Nicki Minaj.

Update: In an odd development, TMZ is now reporting that Tekashi 6ix9ine's version of events (read: what he told the police) is slightly different than what they originally reported. Apparently, 6ix9ine said a car ran into him at a light, two men with guns jumped out, grabbed him, and drove him home—where he asked "someone inside" to bring down his jewelry. At this point, 6ix9ine "managed to escape," called the police, and checked himself into the hospital. Read the original story below.

This is different from what TMZ originally reported, that he arrived home to find his driveway surrounded.

Tekashi is then said to have flagged down a passing driver, getting into the passenger's seat and begging them to call 911.

Update: 6ix9ine's account of the early-morning scuffle that allegedly landed him in the hospital early Sunday morning (July 24) differs dramatically from initial reports of the incident.

6ix9ine was reportedly hospitalized early Sunday morning (July 24) after three hooded gunmen attacked and robbed him shortly following the wrap of a music video shoot in Brooklyn -- but the rapper provided authorities with a different version of the scuffle.

TMZ initially reported that 6ix9ine was pursued in front of his home before assailants pistol-whipped him and knocked him unconscious. He supposedly came to in the backseat of their car, where they threatened him before returning to his home to rob him of $750,000 of jewelry, along with $15,000-$20,000 in cash.

When the robbers fled the scene with 6ix9ine still in the backseat of their car, he escaped by opening the door of the vehicle and jumping out. After seeking the help of a stranger, who called 911, an ambulance arrived and took 6ix9ine to the hospital, where he's currently being treated. (Billboard has reached out to 6ix9ine's representatives for comment.)

Meanwhile, the Associated Press confirmed with the New York Police Department that 6ix9ine claimed he was forced from the car he was riding in around 4:30 a.m. The men who did so then had him call someone to bring personal property to the scene, where they took an "undisclosed amount of jewelry" from 6ix9ine and left.

The AP adds that 6ix9ine became "uncooperative" with authorities once he filed his report; furthermore, there's no mention of the rapper seeking medical attention or being treated for any injuries following the event.

The incident occurred in the hours following the drop of 6ix9ine's "FEFE" remix, which features Nicki Minaj. He hinted at the collaboration earlier this week, and TMZ additionally reported that a Miami jeweler completed a rush order for a custom chain he intended to wear for a music video shoot involving Minaj.
