LIVERPOOL’s Loris Karius is still struggling to find any luck between the posts.
The German goalkeeper lost a lot of trust when he made two costly errors in the Champions League final. This encouraged Jurgen Klopp to bring in Roma’s Alisson for a world record £66.8m. Karius has featured for the Reds in pre-season but with little success, conceding a howler against Tranmere Rovers. And his match in the International Champions Cup against Borussia Dortmund proved no different.

In the opening minutes, the German keeper went to kick a loose ball. But he passed it straight through his defenders to Dortmund’s Maximilian Phillipp. The 25-year-old was spared further blushes though as the midfielder’s long-range effort went wide. It was a different story with two minutes to full time.
“Karius has now broken down mentally from the Champions League final. He’ll never be the same” Liverpool fan Christian Pulisic ran into the box from the right, curling a shot in which was straight at Karius. But instead of collecting the ball, the Liverpool stopper decided to push it away. Unfortunately it fell straight into the path of Dortmund striker Jacob Bruun Larsen to score their third goal of the day. This made for uncomfortable viewing as Liverpool fans bemoaned the German. “Karius has now broken down mentally from the Champions League final. He’ll never be the same,” one fan wrote.

BORUSSIA Dortmund’s American wonderkid Christian Pulisic scored twice and set up another in his side’s 3-1 win over Liverpool in the International Champions Cup in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The teenager was clearly the best player on the pitch, but was strangely ineligible to be named man of the match.

It had nothing to do with his performance. Pulisic simply wasn’t old enough.
The award was sponsored by Heineken and tournament organisers deemed the 19-year-old Pulisic ineligible to receive it because the legal drinking age in the United States is 21.
It’s an odd set of circumstances, especially for a pre-season tournament in which both teams were always expected to play their younger players.

With the majority of players technically ineligible for the award, it was 27-year-old Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk who picked up the accolade.
Though the Man of the Match award will remain beyond his reach (for now), Pulisic will look to continue his fine form for the remainder of the International Champions Cup.

Karius produced another error in a 3-1 pre-season defeat to Borussia Dortmund, though this one did not lead to a goal.
Four minutes into the clash against Jurgen Klopp's former side, the goalkeeper was forced to come a long way out of his goal to deal with a ball over the top of Liverpool's defence.
Karius attempted to clear the ball up the pitch first time, but the 25-year-old's scuffed clearance fell straight to Maximilian Philipp.
Fortunately for Liverpool, the German couldn't hit the target from around 40 yards out, putting his rushed shot wide.
This latest error comes after two high-profile mistakes in the Champions League final where Liverpool were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid.
