KLANG: Selangor exco member Amirudin Shari has arrived at Istana Alam Shah here dressed in Malay traditional attire.
This is indicative that he is probably the mentri besar candidate replacing Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
However, no official announcement has been made yet as to who will be sworn in later Tuesday morning.
Besides Amirudin, another candidate named for the position is Ijok assemblyman Dr Ahmad Idris.
However, he is not seen amongst the crowd at the palace.
The swearing in ceremony will take off as soon as Azmin officially relinquishes his position at about 9.30am by handing over his resignation document to Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
KLANG: It is Amirudin Shari.
The 38-year-old Sungai Tua assemblyman was sworn in as Selangor's 16th Mentri Besar on Tuesday (June 19).
Amirudin took his oath of office and was sworn in before Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at Istana Alam Shah.
Batu Tiga assemblyman Rodziah Ismail was also sworn in as exco member at the same event to fill the slot vacated by Amirudin.
He has taken over the post to replace Datuk Seri Azmin Ali who had moved to the Federal Government to assume the post of Economic Affairs Minister.
The identity of the new mentri besar was kept under wraps until the 11th hour.
According to sources, three names - Amirudin, Ijok assemblyman Dr Idris Ahmad and Seri Setia assemblyman Prof Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin - had been submitted to Sultan Sharafuddin for perusal and selection.
Amirudin was Selangor exco member for Youth Development, Sports, Cultural and Entrepreneurship Development prior to his appointment.
He is also a former manager of the Selangor Football Association and had led the state football team in the Malaysia Cup finals in 2015 and 2016.
A Social Science gradute from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Amirudin was a programme coordinator at Institute of Policy Research.
He is married to Masdiana Muhamad and they have six children.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 — Former Selangor exco Amirudin Shari is the new Selangor Mentri Besar, replacing Datuk Seri Azmin Ali who has vacated the post to assume his new role as the Economic Affairs Minister.
Amirudin was sworn in in the presence of the Selangor monarch, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, his consort Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, and crown prince Tengku Amir Shah.
The 16th mentri besar and Sungai Tua state assemblyman, 38, is a social science graduate from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and is married with six children.
Amirudin was mostly involved with improving youth welfare and also overlooked sports development in Selangor.

Ten state executive councillors (excos) were also sworn in today.
The excos included Batu Tiga state assemblyman Rodziah Ismail, Bandar Baru Klang state assemblyman Datuk Teng Chang Khim, Kota Kemuning state assemblyman V. Ganabatirau, and Lembah Jaya state assemblyman Haniza Mohamed Talha.
Rounding up the list were: Ng Sze Han (Kinrara), Shahruddin Badaruddin (Seri Setia), Hee Loy Sian (Kajang), Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud (Seri Serdang), Izham Hashim (Pandan Indah), and Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari (Selat Kelang).
