Passengers were forced to evacuate from a section of Manchester Airport after reports of the building “collapsing”.
Photos shared on Twitter show a crack which appeared beside a metal beam where travellers were boarding a flight to Palma at gate 212 in Terminal Two.
The airport say another crack has appeared in the floor which is causing the issue prompting the fire service to be called in order to evacuate passengers safely from the gate.
Gate 212 is currently housed inside a temporary building while work is taking place at the airport.
Passengers said they heard a loud noise at around 7am causing “everyone to panic”.
Andrea Atherton tweeted a photo of the crack, writing: “Been stood for 20 minutes where the temporary floors sound like they are collapsing. Finally evacuated outside. Trying to go on my cruise. Not great communication Manchester airport.”
Another passenger added: “About an hour ago there was a loud noise. Everyone was panicking. It looks like something is wrong with the building, it is collapsing.

Cars parked on streets close to Manchester Airport have been vandalised amid recent complaints about drivers leaving vehicles for long periods.
Two cars on Lownorth Road in Wythenshawe had their tyres let down and "No Parking" daubed across their side panels in white paint.
Residents have recently complained about owners leaving cars parked in the area for weeks at a time.
Greater Manchester Police described the vandalism as "completely unacceptable".
The force also said officers would take "positive action" against anyone found to have been involved.

Posting on Twitter, one resident said: "I would be devastated if this was my car. This puts Wythenshawe on the map for all the wrong reasons."
However, a father who did not want to be identified said congestion in the area is an ongoing problem.
His children have been forced to walk on roads after footpaths were blocked by cars, he added.
MANCHESTER Airport had to be evacuated this morning after cracks appeared on the floor of a temporary terminal building.
Passengers at Terminal 2 posted concerning images on social media, with the fire service having to be called to investigate.

One passenger told the Manchester Evening News: “About an hour ago there was a loud noise. Everyone was panicking.
"It looks like something is wrong with the building, it is collapsing.
"The fire brigade have evacuated the building. They didn’t tell anybody what was going on.
"We are now stood outside on the airfield. The fire brigade made everybody move away from the building."

An airport spokesman told The Sun Online that the situation was not as serious as first feared, and all passengers have now been taken back into the building.
