Express Sport brought you live updates of Unai Emery's first press conference. Find out what he had to say below. Emery on the challenge It's a big challenge for me but I work also on other big projects. For me I am proud to be here and to work after Arsene Wenger. The first meeting, for me very important was the connection at this moment. We spoke in this moment about who they want, and how I want to work. This responsability at this club, together, to know my ambition and my passion. To know how I want to develop my project at Arsenal. The project was a bigresponsability but I think this feeling is very important. Emery on the players “I know all the players. I think all the players are very important,” he said. “All the players I want to speak to individually. I want to speak to them face to face.” And on Jack Wilshere he said: “I don’t want to speak about individual players today.” Emery is up... Good afternoon. Thank you Kroenke family, for me it was a very good meeting, a very good conversation. Thank you also to the chairman, the board. We had a meeting Monday morning and I feel they feel, with their heart, Arsenal. Gazidis on meeting Emery We met with London members of the board on Monday. Unai, Raul and I flew to Atlanta on Monday to meet Stan Kroenke. I’ve followed Unai since his Valencia days. He has always been on my radar. He is a superb fit to the criteria that I laid out. The thing that distinguished Unai above all the things was the chemistry between us and the feel for football within the room. Gazidis on the process We formed a three person committee - led by me and supported by Sven Mislintat and Raul Sanllehi. We had clear criteria that we were looking for. Entertaining football, values and developing young players. We created an eight person list. All eight took part in extensive interviews with the three of us and none of them withdrew their interest. We were in the fortunate position to be able to make our choice. We interviewed Unai on May 10. We made our recommendation to the board in May 10 - that was an unanimous recommendation.
