Meghan Markle's closest friend and, arguably Canada’s best-connected fashion power player, arrived in London earlier this week ahead of the Royal bride's big day today.
It was announced earlier this week that Mulroney's children, Ivy, John and Brian, will be taking part in the ceremony at St George's Chapel as a bridesmaid and pageboys – cementing the stylist's family at the centre of one of the biggest events of the year.
You may not have heard of Mulroney before, but her influence has already helped to propel a lucky clutch of Canadian fashion designers to global fame thanks to her role as stylist to Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau, the wife of Canada’s...
Meghan Markle's closest friend Jessica Mulroney, who reportedly served as Markle's unofficial wedding planner, chose a royal blue custom tea-length fit and flare dress with cap sleeve button detail by Montreal-based designer Di Carlo Couture.
Her chic selection isn't exactly surprising given Mulroney's sartorial pedigree—the Toronto-based fashion stylist is best known for working with Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, Canada’s first lady.

Mulroney accessorized the look with a navy blue fascinator, nude Christian Louboutin pumps (left), and a simple pair of drop earrings.
She and her husband Ben have three children, all of whom served as bridal attendants in the wedding. Ivy, 4, was a bridesmaid, while 7-year-old twins Brian and John were pageboys.
Markle and Mulroney have been best friends for some time—the two became close after Meghan moved to Canada to film Suits.
It seems like just yesterday we were ogling Pippa Middleton's enviable silhouette at her sister's wedding back in 2011, when she stepped out of the car to hold Kate's train as she entered Westminster Abbey. Pippa's white figure-hugging Alexander McQueen dress was all anyone could talk about (besides the wedding itself, of course) and she quickly became an internet sensation, due in no small part to her perfect-looking derriere.

Now, seven years later, we're having a bit of Pippa-related déjà vu: Meghan Markle's best friend Jessica Mulroney turned heads this morning as she walked into St. George's Chapel for Meghan and Harry's nuptials.
Though she didn't wear a white dress, Mulroney's royal blue version looked decidedly similar to Pippa's—at least from behind. Both frocks featured cap sleeves, button details, and flawless tailoring that highlighted each woman's best assets. Even her half-up half-down hairstyle was reminiscent of Pippa's on Will and Kate's big day.
Coincidence? We're not quite sure.
Meghan Markle's BFF, Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney, turned heads as she entered Windsor Castle’s St George’s chapel in a tight royal blue number Saturday morning. The custom Di Carlo Couture tea-length, fit-and-flare dress gave anyone paying attention major Pippa Middleton circa 2011 vibes.

Let us refresh your memory. Pippa unexpectedly stole the show at sister Kate Middleton's wedding after her own figure-flattering Alexander McQueen dress made her an instant, viral sensation. Her butt inspired Facebook fan pages and Twitter accounts! She was a good sport about the ordeal, famously quipping three years later: “As I have found out, recognition has its upside, its downside and – you may say – its backside," adding that the dress “fitted a little too well.”

Mulroney's Pippa moment happened as she was helping Middleton usher in the bridesmaids and page boys, which included Mulroney's twin sons Brian and John, 7, and daughter Ivy, 4.
Now, Markle and Mulroney met and bonded over a shared love for yoga when the actress moved to Toronto in 2011 to film Suits. They became fast friends, even attending the same yoga, hairdresser, and manicurist. “Meghan really looks up to Jessica," royals reporter Katie Nicholl, author of Harry: Life, Loss, and Love, previously told Cosmopolitan.com. “For years, she styled herself on Jessica.”

Prior to her wedding, Markle leaned on Mulroney as an “unofficial wedding planner,” consulting over the phone and attending dress fittings. Nicholl said: “She helped Meghan choose the dress designer and is helping with all the details of the wedding planning behind the scenes.”

It was no surprise that the Canadian stylist opted for Di Carlo Couture, a Montreal-based designer, when choosing her own royal wedding look. And the brilliant blue frock fit her to a T.
