ARSENE WENGER will be looking to end his 22-year reign on a high with a win over long-term rivals Manchester United.

The Arsenal boss, who will quit at the end of the season, will come up against Jose Mourinho for what could be the last ever time.

But his Arsenal side will have half an eye on Thursday night in Madrid after only managing a 1-1 draw at home to ten-man Atletico in the Europa League.

Mourinho took a cheeky dig at the 68-year-old's recent record after he revealed that he would be leaving the Emirates.

Wenger's most renowned career rival is Sir Alex Ferguson, but he has always struggled against the Portuguese tactician.

The 'Special One' ruined Wenger's 1,000th game in charge of the Gunners as Chelsea triumphed 6-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal suffered a 3-1 defeat when the two clubs met at the Emirates in December.

Manchester United secured a 3-1 win when the two sides met earlier in the season, but neither team will feel they have a huge amount to play for today.

Arsenal have a tough second leg against Atletico Madrid coming up in the Europa League on Thursday, and have little to play for in the league as they sit 9 points behind fifth place Chelsea.

Manchester United will secure their top four finish with a draw today and will the players will want start switching their focus towards their FA Cup final with Chelsea in just a few weeks.

Sergio Romero remains out of action for Man United but the rest of the squad is fully fit for the fixture.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is recovering from his recent injury, but he is unlikely to start against his former club as he continues his return to full fitness.

Mohamed Elneny is also still on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

Manchester United face Arsenal today in a huge top of the table clash at Old Trafford.

Both clubs will be looking for a win as Manchester United attempt to claim second place and Arsenal try and close the gap on rivals Chelsea.

This will be Arsene Wenger's last trip to United as Arsenal boss and both managers have spoken about the long rivalry ahead of the game.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said: "We had big matches, big fights, so thank you so much for that.

"Regret? Little negative episodes, yes I do.

"There were little things where it would be obviously better without them, you know, some gestures, some words, it would obviously be better without it. I feel better now without it, no doubts about it."

Speaking on Arsenal's website, Arsene Wenger revealed how he feels about his last trip to United.

"I don't know first of all what reception I will get, but we will be focused on winning the game," said Wenger.

"We had some great battles over 22 years and for me what will be at stake will be to recover from that [Atletico] result and before we go to Madrid to have a good game. If I get a good reception I will take it."
