Jessie J delighted and baffled fans in equal measure by signing up to participate on a TV talent show, not as a judge, but as a contestant.
The Domino singer has been competing on Chinese talent show Singer – a show like The X Factor, except all of the contestants are famous.
But anyone who scoffed at Jessie’s unusual career move may pull a Homer-Simpson-backing-into-the-hedge-GIF, as she is having the last laugh.
The 30-year-old has won Singer, beating the competition with two incredible performances.
Firstly, Jessie was joined by singer Coco Lee for a rendition of her number one hit Bang Bang – which she originally recorded with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.
KZ Tandingan – who was eliminated earlier in the series – came out on stage to rap Nicki’s verse, while Jessie unleashed her signature vocal acrobatics while dancing in a sequinned jumspuit.

The second round of the finale saw the contestants choosing their favourite song, with Jessie singing I Will Always Love You by her idol Whitney Houston.
The two performances were more than enough to persuade the public to vote, as Jessie won a whopping 47.49% of the vote – miles ahead of her nearest competitor, Hua Chenyu, at 25.65%.
This makes Jessie the first ever international star to win Singer after six series.
The finale kicked off with Tengger, Henry Huo, Angela Chang, Wang Feng, James Li and Hua Chenyu competing with Jessie to be named winner of Singer 2018.
Jessie had huge hits in the UK with songs including Do It Like A Dude, Price Tag, It’s My Party and Who You Are, but her singles after 2014’s worldwide hit Bang Bang failed to make the same mark.
Her highest charting single since 2014 was Flashlight from the Pitch Perfect 2 soundtrack, which reached no 13; while she has yet to release her first album R.O.S.E.

The songstress, 30, who was asked to sing on the show as a guest back in January, looked incredible as she slipped into a dazzling jewel-encrusted gown for the glittering event.

Jessie has been busy promoting her upcoming album R.O.S.E - having made her comeback to music last year following her battle with a mystery illness.
Speaking to the Daily Star in September, the singer explained her diagnosis was something she had to face 'as a woman' - and privately - following the passing of her grandparents soon after.
She explained: 'In the two years that I did The Voice in Australia, I was diagnosed with some health issues that I'm not ready to talk about that I had to really face as a woman.'
The singer has been very open about her health issues in the past - having revealed in 2012 she inherited Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome from her father, which caused her to suffer a stroke when she was just 17 years old.
The condition means she has an irregular heartbeat, and spent her childhood in and out of hospital.
She confessed she needed the time to grow as a woman as well as reassess her life in terms of love, heartbreak and the direction she wants to take her music.
Exciting: The star appeared in high-spirits as she chatted to the American singer ahead of Friday's finale
As part of the finals of "Singer 2018," the remaining contestants had to perform with a duet partner of their choice.
British pop star Jessie J invited two — KZ Tandingan, who was already eliminated from the show, and American singer Coco Lee — to sing her hit song, "Bang Bang."
Tandingan took care of the rap parts, originally sung by Nicki Minaj. Check out the video below:

She may not have secured a place in the finals of "Singer 2018," but she did get to sing with one of her biggest idols, Jessie J.
The British pop star tapped KZ Tandingan to perform "Bang Bang" with her for the Chinese show's episode Friday night.
"Feeling ko ako na iyong nanalo," said Tandingan in her interview with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe before she headed to China.

Her huge smile told everyone that the rare experience was worth more to her than any trophy or cash prize.
Tandingan is a self-confessed Jessie J fan, who previously opened up about how the "Price Tag" hitmaker had a profound influence on her developing an adventurous and experimental musical style.
Tandingan shared that she got the call from Jessie J just days before the episode's scheduled taping date. Luckily, she already knew "Bang Bang" by heart, as it was one of the songs she would usually suggest to cap off her concerts with fellow Divas singers.
"Kabisado ko na iyon. Kalaban ko na lang ngayon ang aking kaba," she quipped.
Jessie J is one of the grand finalists of "Singer 2018," China's top singing contest. Tandingan, the only Filipino contestant, was eliminated on March 16.
She was presented with a second chance at the finals, but her heartfelt rendition of Freddie Aguilar's "Anak," which included Mandarin translations, failed to garner enough votes.
