Roma pulled off an extraordinary comeback to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League on Tuesday, winning 3-0 at home to reach the semi-finals by overturning a three-goal deficit from the first leg.
Roma entered the game as massive underdogs after losing the first leg of their quarter-final 4-1 against a Lionel Messi-led team that was one of the big favorites to win the competition.
But they advanced on away goals after center back Kostas Manolas scored the decider with a header from a corner in the 82nd minute amid a deafening atmosphere inside the Stadio Olimpico.
"It wasn't luck. This is what happened," Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco said. "But this isn't enough. We can't be satisfied. This squad needs to aim for (the final in) Kiev. This is an extraordinary squad. Why shouldn't we aim to get there?"
Di Francesco acknowledged before the match that his team needed a "miracle" to advance, and they got the start they needed when when Edin Dzeko controlled an over-the-top pass between two defenders after six minutes and poked in his sixth goal in this season's competition.
Then near the hour mark, Dzeko earned a penalty that Daniele De Rossi converted to set the stage for Manolas' late header.

ROMA, KOMPAS.com - AS Roma secara mengejutkan berhasil menyingkirkan Barcelona di babak perempat final Liga Champions. Penyerang Roma, Edin Dzeko, sampai kehabisan kata-kata untuk melukiskan kemenangan timnya.
Pada laga kedua perempat final, AS Roma menang 3-0 atas Barcelona di Stadion Olimpico, Selasa (10/4/2018). Dengan hasil ini, De Rossi dkk yang kalah 1-4 pada laga pertama, berhak lolos ke semifinal berkat agresivitas gol tandang.
Striker AS Roma, Edin Dzeko mengaku tidak percaya karena berhasil menyingkirkan tim sekelas Barcelona. Dia kehabisan kata-kata karena performa bak roller coaster yang naik turun dalam tempo satu pekan.
"Kemenangan ini sulit untuk dijelaskan. Tidak ada yang percaya kami bisa menang. Kami hanya punya peluang lima persen setelah kalah 1-4 pada laga pertama," kata Dzeko seperti dikutip dari BT Sport.

"Kami kalah dari Fiorentina tiga hari lalu di Liga Italia, tetapi kami bermain sangat hebat hari ini," ujar pemain bernomor punggung 9 ini.
Menurut Dzeko, pada pertandingan kali ini, AS Roma hanya fokus untuk bertahan dengan baik dan tidak kemasukan. Mereka pun bisa menjaga gawang Alisson Becker tetap perawan hingga akhir laga.
"Kami sangat berkonsentrasi untuk tidak kebobolan. Kami ingat Barcelona mencetak empat gol hanya dari tiga tembakan karena kami melakukan gol bunuh diri," ucap mantan pemain Manchester City ini.
Edin Dzeko did not lose a single header in the second leg against Barcelona.
