Michigan 54, Florida State 44, 2:15 left: Duncan Robinson just hit a huuuuuge 3-pointer to put the Wolverines up 10. It’s not over yet, but folks, this is good news for Michigan.
Michigan 45, Florida State 42 (5:59, 2H): Wagner gets called for his fourth foul with 6:43 left in the half, and Florida State cut the lead to 45-40 on Trent Forrest’s free throws. Seconds later, Forrest hits two more free throws to cut the lead to three.
Michigan 45, Florida State 38 (8:52, 2H): Moritz Wagner is now in double digits, as he helped Michigan open a 3-point lead to six, after Phil Cofer’s three-point play cut the lead to 40-37 with 9:34 left. Wagner also has three fouls.
Michigan 38, Florida State 28 (14:20, 2H): Florida State’s shooting is all but stagnant. The Seminoles are 1 for 9 from the floor as the Wolverines have used an 11-o run to build a 10-point lead.
Michigan 34, Florida State 28 (15:49, 2H): Charles Matthews has scored five of Michigan’s first seven points of the second half. His 3-pointer opened Michigan’s six to four points early in the second half, as Florida State’s offense is slumping, a carryover from the first half.
First half
Halftime: Michigan 27, Florida State 26: Matthews missed a pair of free throws with less than two minutes left in the half for Michigan, but Wagner hit two of three with one minute left to give the Wolverines a 27-26 lead. Michigan hit only one field goal in the final 8:44 of the first half.
Florida State’s Ike Obiagu has commanded the Seminoles’ defense, with three blocks in the first half.
Florida State 21, Michigan 19 (6:21, 1H): Michigan is in the midst of another scoring drought, this one for 2:23 as Florida State calls a timeout with 6:21 left in the half. The Wolverines are shooting 37.5 percent (6 for 16), and are 1 for 7 on 3-pointers.
Florida State 17, Michigan 15 (10:32, 1H): Florida State took advantage of a scoring drought of more than 2 minutes for the Wolverines. During that stretch, Braian Angola hit a pair of free throws that came after officials ruled that Duncan Robinson committed a flagrant foul against Angola. Savoy’s 3-pointer about nine minutes into the game tied it at 15-15, after Robinson missed a 3-pointer for the Wolverines. Charles Matthews has 8 points in the first 8 1/2 minutes for the Wolverines.
Michigan 12, Florida State 10 (13:06, 1H): The Seminoles are 3 for 8 from the floor in the first seven minutes, and have turned over the ball five times, but cut Michigan’s lead to 2 on P.J. Savoy’s 3-pointer.
Michigan 7, Florida State 4 (17:22, 1H): Michigan and Florida State are each creating a presence early under the basket. However, 7-foot-4 center Christ Koumadje has already drawn two fouls in the first three minutes.

Michigan-Florida State basketball preview
Michigan (31-7) continues its postseason run Saturday in Los Angeles, as it plays for its first Final Four berth since 2013, while Florida State (23-11) plays for its first appearance in the Final Four since 1972.
The Wolverines needed no last-second theatrics Thursday against Texas A&M. Instead, the Wolverines hit the throttle from the start and built a substantial lead in the first half against the Aggies.
The Wolverines did it on defense by neutralizing Texas A&M’s inside presence, which had three players with a height of at least 6-foot-9. The Wolverines did it on offense with stellar 3-point shooting, especially in the first half. Michigan finished 14 for 24 from behind the 3-point line, including 10 for 16 in the first half.
The Wolverines offense from behind the arc broke out Thursday; prior to the win against Texas A&M, Michigan was a combined 13 for 46 on 3-pointers in its first two NCAA Tournament games.
Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman scored a game-high 24 points. The senior guard has scored in double figures in 14 of the Wolverines’ past 17 games. He has averaged 15.6 points in the Wolverines’ three NCAA Tournament games.
Moritz Wagner also found his rhythm against the Aggies, scoring 21 points.
Michigan has won 12 games in a row, dating to Feb. 11. The Wolverines continue to reiterate the value of its depth in the NCAA Tournament, as Abdur-Rahkman and Wagner were two of five Wolverines to score in double figures against Texas A&M.
Free-throw shooting has plagued the Wolverines in the postseason, but they went 7 for 8 from the line against the Aggies.
Florida State plays in the Elite Eight for the first time since 1993, when Kentucky beat the Seminoles 106-81.
Guard Terance Mann leads Florida State with 12.9 points per game, and forward Phil Cofer and guard Braian Angola each average 12.7 points.
Mann scored 18 points Thursday against Gonzaga, and Angola and C.J. Walker each scored 9 as the Seminoles exercised their length, athleticism and aggressiveness.
The Seminoles are 14th in the nation with 5.3 blocks per game, and have plenty of inside height, including 7-4 center Christ Koumadje, 7-foot center Ike Obiagu and five players who are at least 6-7.

The No. 3 Michigan Wolverines and No. 9 Florida State Seminoles face off in the West region final on Saturday at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The winner of the Elite Eight contest moves on to the Final Four in San Antonio. John Beilein's Wolverines are coming off a Sweet 16 blowout over the No. 7 Texas A&M Aggies, a performance headlined by Moritz Wagner and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman. The Seminoles flexed their depth against the No. 4 Gonzaga Bulldogs, as head coach Leonard Hamilton used 11 different players on Thursday night. Michigan is searching for its first Final Four berth since 2013, while the Seminoles are looking to make the Final Four for the first time since 1972.

Michigan is headed to the Final Four.
With a 58-54 win over No. 9 seed Florida State on Saturday night, the Wolverines are headed to its second Final Four under head coach John Beilein and eighth in program history.
Michigan (32-7) also notched its 32nd win, the most ever by a Wolverine team.
In the final minutes, it was making Wolverine fans a bit nervous.
