N.J. school closings, delays for Friday
Several New Jersey school districts announced delayed openings on Friday as snow was expected to fall and create slippery conditions during the morning rush hour.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for 1 to 2 inches for counties north of I-78. The rest of the state should see accumulations under 1 inch, though the timing of the snowfall could create some hazardous driving conditions.
Speed restrictions were in effect on some major highways to allow salt trucks to treat roads.
Here's the school districts that have announced delayed openings. This list will be updated through the morning:

CLOSE The university does close the Knoxville campus for weather, but not often. The policy goes back to a tragedy more than 50 years ago and a vow by university president Andy Holt to always hold classes even in a blizzard. Angela Gosnell/News Sentinel
