Malaysian heiress Chryseis Tan to wed fiance Faliq Nasimuddin on Friday


KUALA LUMPUR: The heirs of two business empires, S.M. Faliq Nasimuddin and Chryseis Tan, have tied the knot - a perfect culmination of their romance which was followed by many on social media since last year.

Faliq is the youngest son of Naza Group founder, the late Tan Sri S.M. Nasimuddin S.M. Amin, while Tan is the daughter of Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, the founder of Berjaya Group.

The couple were united in an intimate ceremony at the Chateau Bukit Tinggi in Bentong, Pahang, on Friday (Feb 2).

They were said to be friends when studying at an international school and was reportedly engaged on July 2 last year when the 33-year-old Faliq proposed to Tan, 30, while they were on vacation in Marrakesh, Morocco.

The wedding photos uploaded by Faliq's younger sister Nadia Nasimmudin on her Instagram showed the couple being pronounced husband and wife after an akad nikah (solemnisation of marriage) ceremony with RM1,000 dowry.

Faliq's brother Datuk S.M. Faisal through his Instagram posting congratulated the lovebirds.

"Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), the family is getting bigger! Congrats you both," said S.M. Faisal.

The photo received 8,000 likes after being uploaded for three hours and inundated with thousands of congratulatory messages from S.M. Faisal's followers.

Faliq is Naza TDDI deputy executive chairman and group managing director, and Tan is the chief executive officer of Berjaya Times Square.

Faliq's father S.M. Nasimuddin established the Naza Group in the 80s and contributed to the development of the automotive, construction and property sectors in the country.

PETALING JAYA - Chryseis Tan, the daughter of business tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan, will tie the knot with SM Faliq Nasimuddin, the son of the late Tan Sri Nasimuddin Amin, on Friday (Feb 2).

The announcement was made by society lifestyle magazine Prestige Malaysia in an Instagram post on Thursday.

Faliq, who is the group managing director of Naza TTDI, popped the question to the CEO of Berjaya Times Square in June 2017 in Marrakesh, Morocco, where the duo were holidaying.

The couple themselves have not said anything about Friday's nuptials.

Chryseis' last post on Instagram on Wednesday (Jan 31) was of her bridal shower.

The photo sees her posing with her friends in a cosy tropical themed venue near a backdrop which reads: "From Miss to Mrs".

"All my fav (favourite) people surprised me today! Love you all," she said.

She followed it up with a photo of the pair's wedding photoshoot, with the caption: "One more sleep to #chrysfaliqeverafter"

Birds of the same feather flock together and this is especially so when it comes to high society.

Singaporean tycoon Peter Lim's daughter Kim Lim was spotted at Malaysian socialite Chryseis Tan's wedding on Friday. Tan, who is the daughter of Malaysian tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan married her beau, SM Faliq Nasimuddin. Faliq is the son of the late Tan Sri Nasimuddin Amin. Kim was also spotted at the bridal shower held on Thursday (Feb 1).

PETALING JAYA (Feb 2): Chryseis Tan and Faliq Nasimuddin, two scions of some of Malaysia’s largest fortunes — whose family business interests include property — tied the knot today at an intimate affair in Bukit Tinggi.

The wedding was held at The Chateau, a luxury resort that resembles a 12th century medieval “Haut Koenigsbourg” castle in Alsace, France that is touted as the world’s first organic spa and wellness resort by its owner the Berjaya Group, which was founded and is controlled by the bride’s father Tan Sri Vincent Tan.

Faliq had popped the question in Morocco at the end of June last year, amid a romantic profusion of blooms in the Hotel Royal Mansour.

The high-flying couple each hold leadership positions in their respective family businesses — Chryseis is chief executive of Berjaya Times Square, one of the largest malls in Kuala Lumpur, while Faliq is group managing director of property developer Naza TTDI Sdn Bhd.
