OVER the past couple of years, the relationship between old school friends Cherry Seaborn and Ed Sheeran has blossomed.
The singer has taken to Twitter to announce to the world that the adorable pair have gotten engaged - here's everything you need to know about their relationship and Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" woman...

Where is Cherry Seaborn from?
British Cherry met Ed Sheeran at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk, where the crooner is believed to have had a crush on his classmate.
The pair finished their secondary education there.
Cherry then attended Duke University, which is located in Durham, North Carolina.
After months of dealing with a long distance relationship with Ed, The Sun exclusively revealed that the 24-year-old had moved back to the UK from the US to be with the Divide singer.

What does Cherry Seaborn do?
During her time in the States, Cherry impressed her peers with her incredible hockey ability.
She even led her hockey team to back-to-back British University championships in 2012 and 2013.
On Duke’s official website, Cherry said: "Ever since I was in high school I've always wanted to study in the United States.
"I looked into different schools that were good academically and also at hockey, and Duke was one that really jumped out at me.
"I made my decision purely based on recommendations.
"Duke has such a good name in England, and there were a lot of people who told me to go there. There were also some English girls [at Duke], so I talked to them too."
Before Cherry returned back to British soil, it was rumoured that she worked as an Advisory Consultant at Deloitte & Touche LLP in New York.

When did Cherry Seaborn and Ed Sheeran get engaged and how long have they been dating?
It’s believed that the loved-up couple have been in a relationship since 2015.
At first, they kept their dating life under wraps.
But the couple were pictured kissing for the first time in 2016 when his close friend Taylor Swift threw them a party to celebrate their one year anniversary.
Ed Sheeran revealed that he had proposed to Cherry Seaborn over the Christmas holiday on Instagram.
The Sun has known for some time that things were getting serious between the couple, especially after Ed hinted that he might like to tie the knot with the hockey player in the future.
When asked if his relationship with Cherry has the potential to be a "marriage thing", the 25-year-old said: "I'm pretty...yeah I feel pretty good about it."
Ed also confessed he'd "love" to start a family with his old school pal.
During an appearance on Australian radio show The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Ed said: "Yeah, potentially. I would like some kids."
And although Ed and Cherry don't have any sprogs just yet, they are now engaged and indeed living together - and have pet cats to parent.
Ed also previously gushed about being "ready" for fatherhood.
He said when asked if he was excited to become a dad in the future: "Massively, yeah. I wanted to be a dad, like, last year.
"I'm ready, let's go - tour bus babies, little fat, chubby babies that just walk around."

The 26-year-old has been dating Seaborn since July 2015, although the pair kept their relationship out of the public eye for several months – it was only on their first anniversary that Taylor Swift made the couple known after sharing her best wishes to them on Instagram.
Seaborn, 25, and Sheeran met at school in Framlington, Suffolk, where they both grew up. They weren't, however, teenage sweethearts. As a fellow school friend told Female First: "There was always something there between them. Ed had a crush on Cherry at school, but she had a boyfriend then."
Sheeran had several prominent relationships before settling down with Seaborn. In 2012 he was with singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt, who inspired the songs Nina and Photograph from his second album, x. He then dated Jamie Oliver employee Athina Andrelos for a year until February 2015. He has never shied away from writing songs about his romantic exploits, with many fans believing his song Don't was inspired by a fling with pop star Ellie Goulding.

Singer Ed Sheeran has shared news of his engagement and added that “our cats are chuffed as well”. The musician revealed he and girlfriend Cherry Seaborn are engaged on Instagram.
Sharing a photograph of them together with his more than 18 million followers, Sheeran wrote: “Got myself a fiance just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx.”
Last year the singer credited Seaborn, who he has reportedly been dating since 2015, with nursing him back to health after he was involved in a bicycle accident.
He told the Capital Breakfast Show that she “had to brush my teeth”, and later added she is a “good woman”.

The couple were childhood friends who attended school together in Suffolk, but only became romantically involved years later.
In February 2017, Sheeran alluded to their relationship on Radio 2, saying: “I spent every day for a year with this certain person, we kind of have a strong relationship now, which is good.
“I’m really secure now, we live together and we have cats, and I think when you have cats that’s kind of it.”

Seaborn, a keen hockey player, and Sheeran are rarely photographed together and keep their relationship very private. She attended a university in North Carolina and a biography on the university’s official website says she previously competed in the British University Ice Hockey Championships in 2012 and 2013.
She was believed to have been with Sheeran at a Buckingham Palace party in 2016 where it was claimed Princess Beatrice, 29, accidentally cut his face with a sword during a party prank.
Reports at the time alleged Beatrice swung a sword over her shoulder while she was pretending to knight James Blunt.
Blunt, a good friend of Sheeran’s, later cast doubts on the story, saying said it was a joke the pair had concocted.
Sheeran was recognised in the Queen’s 2017 birthday honours list where he received an MBE for services to music and charity.

Ed Sheeran has announced his engagement to girlfriend Cherry Seaborn with a cute message.
The thrilled Shape Of You singer, 26, confirmed the happy news by posting a picture of the two of them cuddled up together.
"Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx," he wrote on it.
A photo he posted on New Year's Eve is believed to show Cherry, also 26, chilling on a sofa as Ed grins into the camera.
Just seen on the ring finger of the woman's left hand is something sparkly - which may well be the ring Ed used to pop the question.

The happy couple have known each other since school and Ed fancied her even then, but their relationship didn't survive the long distance when Cherry went to university in America.
However, they rekindled their romance in 2015 and Ed's BFF Taylor Swift even threw them an anniversary party a year later.
While Cherry keeps herself out of the spotlight, Ed gushes about his love for her every so often.
He recently admitted he could see them tying the knot, telling The Kyle and Jackie O Show: "I'm pretty...yeah I feel pretty good about it."

And he even said he was feeling broody about the prospect of starting a family with Cherry.
"Massively, yeah. I wanted to be a dad, like, last year," he said when asked about wanting to become a dad.
"I'm ready, let's go - tour bus babies, little fat, chubby babies that just walk around."
And in April 2017 he said he was "the happiest and most comfortable I've ever been in my life", telling eTalkcTV: "I've had time to put into a relationship, I've known her since I was 10, my parents know her parents, she lives around the corner - well we live together now, actually."
More recently, Ed revealed his No.1 hit Perfect was inspired by his long-term girlfriend.
"I like the situation I'm in at the moment, it's pretty great," he told Radio.com in October 2017.
And, when asked if Cherry was 'the one', Ed gushed: "Undoubtedly, undoubtedly.

"But I think if you ever enter into a long-term relationship and you have a doubt, then you shouldn't be in the long-term relationship," he went on.
"I actually always thought I'd end up dating like an actress or something, someone in the industry, but I don't think I'm that kind of person. I'm a hometown boy."
He added that the lyrics to Perfect came about after a boozy party he and Cherry went to at friend James Blunt's house.
"We got really hammered and took our shoes off and danced on his lawn and then jumped in the pool," he recalled.

"And then the next day I was like, 'that's a cool story,' so I put it in a song."
The lyrics to Perfect do indeed contain the lines, 'I found a love for me / Darling just dive right in' and 'Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, with you between my arms / Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song'.
Cherry hit the headlines in 2017 when she was pictured on a rare night out with Ed at the BRIT Awards.
Ever the gentleman, Ed was papped leaving the Ciroc Warner after-party in the early hours of the morning holding Cherry's broken Louboutin boots in one hand and his now-fiancee with the other.
Both grinned as they left the boozy party - with Cherry having nicked Ed's trainers off him to ease her discomfort, while Ed negotiated the London pavement in just his socks.

His engagement news rounded off a 2017 that saw him awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace, a place at the top of Spotify's most-streamed artists list - and, sadly, a broken arm that disrupted his world tour.
