Ed Sheeran announced his engagement to girlfriend Cherry Seaborn on Saturday in an Instagram post that was pretty darn adorable.
“Got myself a fiancé just before new year,” the “Perfect” singer wrote. “We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx.”

People reports that Seaborn, 24, is a risk advisory consultant and that she and Sheeran started dating in 2015. But the two have known each other much longer ― they were childhood friends who went to school together, according to The Guardian.
Sheeran, 26, has credited Seaborn with helping him in his past struggle with substance abuse and in recovering after a bike accident.
And as for those “chuffed” (read: happy) cats, that would be Calippo and Dorito, who are social media stars in their own right.

Sheeran’s previously alluded to the felines being a symbol of stability in his relationship with Seaborn.
“I spent every day for a year with this certain person, we kind of have a strong relationship now, which is good,” he told BBC Radio 2 in February. “I’m really secure now, we live together and we have cats, and I think when you have cats that’s kind of it.”

News of Ed Sheeran’s engagement comes with a sting in the tail – he’s now vowed to quit music once he and Cherry become parents.
While this may make some musicians breathe a sigh of relief – it might mean someone else will have a go at hitting the top of the charts as Ed will be taking a step back from music to focus on his family when the time comes.
And that time isn’t far off, given that he and girlfriend Cherry are now affianced.
Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: ‘My ambition is going to go to zero as soon as I have kids.
‘I am going to be like, “I do not really care anymore as I have another life to take care of”.’
He added: ‘It is totally understandable because you have children and your ambition shifts to be like, “I want to be a good father”.’
Ed announced his engagement just yesterday after successfully keeping it under wraps for two weeks, but allegedly came clean when the secret leaked.
Posting a loved up image, he wrote: ‘Got myself a fiancée just before New Year. We are very happy and in love and our cats are chuffed as well xx.’
Ed is now 26, and he’s said that he wants a baby before he’s 30, so better drink in Ed’s new music while there’s still time.
The 26-year-old multi-award-winning star has stated he wants to start a family before he is 30, which means he could hang up his mic in less than four years.
Ed has a plan to go out on a high though, telling the Daily Star his ultimate goal is to write a Bond theme. He’s currently working on his fourth studio album following Divide, here’s hoping it’s not the last.
