Chelsea suffered more frustration against 10-man Leicester as they were were held to a third successive goalless draw.

The Blues were booed off at Stamford Bridge after following up their cup blanks against Norwich and Arsenal with another stalemate against Leicester and missing out on the chance to go second.

Chelsea couldn't find a way through despite playing against ten men for the last 22 minutes after Ben Chilwell was dismissed after picking up two bookings in just five second half minutes.

Though Antonio Conte will have questions to answer after hooking star man Eden Hazard for his fourth game running with just 58 minutes gone.

Chelsea were fortunate their afternoon wasn't worse after a poor first half which also ended with them being jeered off.

They could have been 3-0 down inside the first ten minutes as Shinji Okazaki and Jamie Vardy, twice, went close.

The hosts then needed Thibaut Courtois to pull off a brilliant flying stop to keep out Wilfred Ndidi's header.

And the Blues suffered a blow when Gary Cahill was forced off with a hamstring injury just after the half hour.

Chilwell saw red after being booked first for a foul on Willian and then after he tripped Victor Moses.

With a man less, Leicester were then happy to settle for a point and held on for a share of the spoils without too much trouble despite Chelsea's dominance.

Here's how the game unfolded.

Chelsea were on the defensive for large periods against Leicester at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Leicester at Stamford Bridge, while striker Harry Kane broke another record as Spurs ran rampant against Everton.

Antonio Conte's Blues could have moved above Manchester United and up to second but were outplayed by a Foxes team that wasted several good chances and ended the game with 10 men after Ben Chilwell picked up a second booking.

Tottenham moved level on points with fourth-placed Liverpool with a 4-0 thumping of Everton. England forward Kane scored twice, in an already remarkable campaign, to become the club's record Premier League goalscorer.

Most of the drama came in the lower half of the table - with eight points separating the bottom 10 teams.

West Brom won their opening two matches of the league season but had then gone 20 top-flight fixtures with victory going into Saturday's encounter against Brighton.

But a week after Alan Pardew got his first win as Baggies boss with a 2-0 victory at Exeter in the FA Cup, there was even better news for the 56-year-old as his side finally picked up three points with a 2-0 win, lifting them to 18th in the table.

Defender Jonny Evans puts the Baggies on top with an an early header before Craig Dawson extended their advantage after the break.

It looked as though bottom side Swansea would remain level on points with West Brom when Jordan Ayew put the Welsh side in front at Newcastle but they were pegged back when Joselu shot through the legs of Alfie Mawson as that match finished 1-1.

Earlier in the season, Frank de Boer's short tenure as Crystal Palace manager ended after defeat against Burnley, but that all seems long ago and the Eagles revival under Roy Hodgson continued with a 1-0 victory over the Clarets.

The London side had lost just one of 11 league matches before Saturday and claimed another three points when Bakary Sako's first-half strike eluded Nick Pope.

West Ham scored three goals in 15 second-half minutes as David Moyes celebrated 20 years in management with a 4-1 win at Huddersfield.

And there was a controversial draw as the match between Watford and Southampton - the league's two most out-of-form sides - finished 2-2.

James Ward-Prowse scored with two precise first-half finishes to put Saints in control before Andre Gray gave the home fans hope with a header early in the second half.

Abdoulaye Doucoure then scored a late equaliser with a goal that the incensed away players seemed to feel involved a handball.

In the Championship, leaders Wolves were held to a goalless draw at Barnsley and saw their lead at the top cut to 10 points after Derby won 3-0 at Birmingham.

Bottom side Sunderland were beaten 4-0 at Cardiff, who remain third in the table.

And in Spain, Real Madrid were beaten once again, losing at home 1-0 to Villarreal, and remain 16 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Guardiola includes Liverpool on the list of high-quality attacking teams in the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp’s side have scored 50 goals in the competition this season, a total that only City can better.

“I think Liverpool are playing like Liverpool were in the past, with all their history,” Guardiola said. “The fans are demanding attacking football. Liverpool have to defend their whole history.

“In the eighties, they dominated the world and European football. I think they are trying to respect that.

“Some teams try to sit back against us. Liverpool played well against us. They tried. We want to do something quite similar. We want to try to be the best.”

Few would expect City to stumble in this season’s contest for the Premier League title, given that they are so far clear with only 15 matches to play, yet Guardiola has warned that it is still possible. He added: “In football and in sport, anything can happen. Of course we can lose the title, because you never know what is going to happen in the next 13 or 14 games.

“If we maintain our level, the consistency and the way we play, then OK, we have a chance. But you never know.

“If we start to go down, and lose confidence, and don’t play well regularly, then we will see.

“Maybe that is going to happen, and I am going to shake the hand of my opponents and congratulate them for being champions.”
