Harry Kane made history as Tottenham brushed Everton aside at Wembley in Saturday's final Premier League action.

Two goals in the second half for the striker saw him leapfrog Teddy Sheringham as Spurs' all-time top scorer in Premier League history.

Earlier, Chelsea were held by 10-man Leicester City to miss the chance to move into second in the Premier League standings on Saturday.

The Blues were sluggish to start and had Thibaut Courtois to thank for not conceding in the first half. Ben Chilwell was dismissed with 20 minutes remaining but, with Eden Hazard withdrawn, the hosts could not find a breakthrough.

It was a different story for West Ham who thumped Huddersfield in a 4-1 win to move into 11th, level on points and goal difference with Crystal Palace after the Eagles beat Burnley 1-0.

Arsenal travel to Bournemouth on Sunday before the weekend's headline act with the form table suggesting Liverpool have realistic hopes of disrupting Manchester City's waltz towards the title when they meet on Sunday, as the Premier League returns after a FA Cup break.

The Brazilian playmaker completed a £142 million move to Barcelona on Monday, meaning Juergen Klopp's "fab four" up front is now just a three.

City will look to repeat their dominant 5-0 victory over Liverpool at the Etihad in September, although they will be without injured striker Gabriel Jesus, who scored a brace that day.

Second-placed Manchester United host Stoke City on Monday, the visitors currently without a coach after sacking Mark Hughes following their FA Cup defeat by League Two Coventry City.

Tottenham Hotspur moved level on points with fourth-placed Liverpool on Saturday after a convincing 4-0 win over Everton at Wembley Stadium.

Spurs have the same goal difference as the Reds, which means they will go into fourth place Sunday if Liverpool lose to leaders Manchester City at Anfield.

Elsewhere, Chelsea missed the chance to move above Manchester United and into second place in the Premier League table after being held to a goalless draw by 10-man Leicester City.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the table, Swansea City were denied victory in a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United, and struggling West Bromwich Albion picked up a rare win against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Saturday Recap

Spurs were in fine form as they saw off Everton 4-0 thanks to two goals from Harry Kane and strikes from Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen.

Son opened the scoring with his fifth goal in his last five home games, only the second Spurs player to achieve the feat, per Opta:

However, he was quickly overshadowed by Kane, who struck twice in the second half to write his name into the club's history books, per Sky Sports Statto:

A well-worked team goal saw Christian Eriksen add a fourth, firing home from inside the box after neat work from Dele Alli to complete the win.

The win also sees Spurs move to within three points of Chelsea in third place after the Blues were held to a third consecutive goalless draw.

It could have been worse for Antonio Conte's side, who were below their best and faced a barrage of attempts from Leicester City in the first half, per Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker:

Leicester saw Ben Chilwell sent off in the second half, but Chelsea could not take advantage, and there were boos at the final whistle, per Goal's Nizaar Kinsella:

Conte's side are really struggling for goals with striker Alvaro Morata and talisman Eden Hazard both out of form and the team subsequently lacking inspiration in attack.

Meanwhile, Swansea City remain bottom of the table after a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United at St James' Park.

Newcastle had a goal correctly disallowed in the first half for offside and were a little fortunate not to concede a penalty after Mo Diame appeared to handle the ball in the box.

Scott Wilson at the Northern Echo felt it was a penalty and a red card:

Swansea then took the lead after the break as Jordan Ayew headed home after goalkeeper Karl Darlow has parried his initial effort.

Their lead lasted just eight minutes, however, as Joselu slotted home after Ayoze Perez's shot had been deflected.

Swansea almost won it right at the end as DeAndre Yedlin had to clear a Wilfried Bony shot off the line. Both teams were forced to settle for a point, which may do little to please either given their positions in the table.

West Bromwich Albion moved off the bottom as they picked up their first win since August with a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Hawthorns.

An unmarked Jonny Evans headed home the opener after just four minutes, and fellow defender Craig Dawson headed home the second after the break.

Opta showed how Albion have become set-piece specialists under manager Alan Pardew:

The win moves West Brom off the bottom and into 19th but is not enough to take them out of the bottom three. It is a boost, however, against tough upcoming fixtures against Everton and Manchester City in the Premier League and Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Saturday Recap

Kane became Tottenham's all-time Premier League top scorer on Saturday as he scored twice in the win over Everton:

Son Heung-min opened the scoring for Spurs, slotting home at the far post after Serge Aurier had fired the ball across goal.

Kane then got his first just two minutes into the second half, although Son also played a key role in the goal. The South Korean surged forward and fired in a cross that Kane tucked home.

The striker then grabbed his second on the hour mark as he managed to get on the end of a ball from Eric Dier and put it past goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

ESPN FC's Dan Kilpatrick showed how impressive it was to score 20 goals by January:

With a three-goal lead Spurs then turned on the style and scored a beautiful team goal that began with Kane and ended with Dele Alli flicking for Christian Eriksen to fire home.

It was a fitting finish to an impressive performance by Spurs with Kane highlighting once again how he is one of the deadliest strikers around.

Chelsea made it three goalless draws in a row on Saturday, as they were held by 10-man Leicester City, who had Ben Chilwell sent off in the second half after picking up two yellow cards.

Striker Alvaro Morata drew yet another blank and has now gone five games without a goal for the reigning Premier League champions.

The hosts created very little in the first half, and Antonio Conte opted to replace Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas after the break for Pedro and Willian, which did little to help Morata.

Goal's Nizaar Kinsella highlighted how long Chelsea have now gone without scoring:

The Blues stay in second place in the table but will lose ground on Manchester United if they beat Stoke City on Monday.

Crystal Palace striker Bakary Sako scored his fourth goal in seven games as the Eagles continued their revival with a 1-0 win over Burnley at Selhurst Park.

The striker cut in from the left and fired a powerful shot past goalkeeper Nick Pope midway through the first half.

Sky Sports Statto showed what an impact he is having at Palace:

The win moves Roy Hodgson's side further away from the relegation zone and is a fine response to the disappointment of having been knocked out of the FA Cup by Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday.

West Ham are also on the rise after beating Huddersfield Town 4-1 with Manuel Lanzini scoring twice for the Hammers.

Mark Noble had put the visitors in front after 25 minutes before Joe Lolley curled home a superb equaliser five minutes before the break.

However, West Ham came flying out of the blocks after the break with Marko Arnautovic smashing home within seconds of the restart before setting up Lanzini twice to make it 4-1.

Football.London's Sam Inkersole noted how Huddersfield struggled to cope with the Austrian:

It's another important win for West Ham, who are now five points off the bottom three. The victory was also a 200th Premier League win for manager David Moyes, as shown by BT Sport Score:

Elsewhere, there was controversy at Vicarage Road as Abdoulaye Doucoure scored a 90th-minute equaliser for Watford in a 2-2 draw with Southampton.

However, the midfielder appeared to bundle the ball home using his arm. Joe Prince-Wright at NBC Sports said it was a blatant handball:

A James Ward-Prowse double had earlier put Southampton in command, but Andre Grey pulled one back before Doucoure's equaliser.

The result will put further pressure on Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino with his team just one point off the relegation zone and without a Premier League win since November.
