Houston police have found the missing sports reporter who disappeared on Saturday after messaging her roommate to say she was being followed by a 'suspicious man'.

Courtney Roland, 29, a reporter for Rivals' Texas A&M site AggieYell.com, was last seen leaving a Texas elite football camp in the Heights area at around 4pm on Saturday, her roommate Autumn Vara wrote on Facebook.

Now her friend Brian Perroni, who has been working with the family to share updates of her disappearance, has revealed she had been found.

Houston police say she was unharmed but is being taken to hospital for observation.

'Thank Jesus!' he tweeted. 'Courtney Roland has been found by the Houston Police. Thank you to everybody for your prayers and please respect the family at this time #HelpFindCourtney.'

It is not yet clear what condition Roland was found in, and why she disappeared for two days.

Her last text message, sent in the early hours of Sunday, suggested she was scared, and mentioned she was being followed by a blue truck after leaving a Walgreens, Vara revealed.

Perroni revealed yesterday that Roland had been spotted in the Houston Galleria at around 5.45pm on Sunday, wearing a camo fleece and an orange Remington hat. She was said to be a driving a 2015 white Jeep Cherokee with license plate HZC7778.

Roland texted her roommate at around 12.30am on Sunday about a 'suspicious man' she saw in Walgreens

Her car, purse, wallet, phone were all later discovered abandoned in the area.

A missing persons report was filed that same day, her friends revealed on social media.

Perroni said it was 'very out of character' for the reporter to simply disappear, adding his concerns that she's left behind her phone, wallet and cash.

Her parents Steve and Cindy, as well as her extended family, also appealed for her to come home, saying, on Khou, 'We love you. Your friends love you. Come home.'

Courtney Roland, a Houston sports reporter reported missing on Saturday, has been located by Houston Police.

Her father told the Houston Chronicle she was found safe Monday morning.

Roland, who covers Texas A&M football for AggieYell.com and Rivals.com, went missing not long after telling a friend late Saturday night that she believed she was being followed.

Her father, Steve Roland, said just after 8:30 a.m. Monday that she was found physically unharmed and that police were transporting her to a hospital for a check-up.

Steve Roland said police had called him from a Chick-fil-A, but said it was not immediately clear to him that that's where his daughter was found. Police said she was found in the Galleria area but said they would not be specifying the location for now.

"We don't have too many details right now; we're just happy she's OK," he said.

Police said a shopper spotted Roland walking alone in a store in the Galleria about 5:40 p.m. Sunday, Houston police said.

On Monday morning, investigators found Roland's Jeep Cherokee in a parking lot near the Galleria, at 5006 Westheimer. Her phone and other belongings were found inside the car, while her purse was found at a nearby business, police said.

Prior to Sunday, friends said on social media that 29-year-old Roland was seen leaving a Team Texas Elite football tryout in an Uber on Saturday about 4 p.m.

Later that night, Roland's roommate said that around 12:30 a.m. on January 7, Roland texted her to say she was worried that a blue truck was following her just after leaving a Walgreens in her own car, at Yale and 20th. That was the last friends or family had heard from her, they say.

Courtney Roland of Rivals.com has gone missing after covering a recruiting event in Houston on Saturday, according to Brittany Taylor of Click 2 Houston.

The 29-year-old, who covers Texas A&M football, was at Team Texas Elite tryouts and last seen just after 4 p.m. local time.

Richard Davenport of Fox Sports Arkansas reported Roland texted her roommate to say she was being followed by a man in a blue truck. While the Team Texas Elite account originally reported she was last heard from in an Uber, she had apparently gone out later Saturday night in her own car.

Roland's mother then reportedly received a text from her phone that read, "hello the owner of this phone Courtney. I am buying an iPad."

Many have used social media to help find the missing reporter, including UFC President Dana White:

According to ABC13 Houston, Roland drives a 2015 silver Jeep Cherokee, and anyone with information should contact the Houston Police Department.
