Man Utd news LIVE updates: All of the latest from Old Trafford Tuesday December 26 Mourinho demands Man Utd money 18:23: Jose Mourinho has delivered his strongest hint yet that he wants funds to sign players this winter. Manchester United drew 2-2 with Burnley today. It was put to the United manager that he has spent almost £300m on new players. But he said he needs more cash to compete. "Is not enough, is not enough,” he said. "Manchester City buy the full-backs for the price of the strikers, so when you speak about big football clubs, you are speaking about the history of the club."

Man Utd 2 - Burnley 2 17:04: Manchester United came from 2-0 down to rescue a point against Burnley this afternoon. Jesse Lingard came off the bench to score two late goals to spare Jose Mourinho's blushes. Read the match report of Manchester United's draw with Burnley here. Malcom deal progress 14:45: Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Bordeaux over a deal for Malcom. The Brazilian has bagged seven times in 18 games so far this season. And Jose Mourinho wants to get him on-board as he looks to take United back to the top. The Daily Mail claim the Red Devils are already talking to Bordeaux about a potential deal. The French outfit have slapped a £50m price tag on the 20-year-old, who started his career at Corinthians. Defender to return 13:55: Manchester United starlet Cameron Borthwick-Jackson looks set to cut short his loan spell at Leeds United. The left-back broke into the Red Devils first-team setup under former Old Trafford gaffer Louis van Gaal. But he's since endured two unhappy loan spells at Wolves last season and Leeds this. The Football Insider now claim talks are ongoing for Borthwick-Jackson to return to United earlier than planned. He faces a battle with Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Matteo Darmian for a starting spot under Jose Mourinho though,

Shaw must go 13:10: Luke Shaw should leave Manchester United next month. That's the verdict of Express Sport man Uche Amako "If fully fit and in form, Luke Shaw should be England's first choice left-back at the World Cup," he said. "But to do that, he has to leave Manchester United because it seems he will never truly convince Jose Mourinho of his quality. "Perhaps Mourinho has just very high standards for the players he wants in his team, but Shaw also needs a manager that will trust him unreservedly as he continues to recover from major injuries." Mourinho wants Mbappe 12:15: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is determined to bring Kylian Mbappe to the Premier League. That's according to Don Balon, who say Old Trafford chiefs have named how much the Portuguese can spend on him. Mbappe has lit up Ligue 1 with hometown club Paris Saint-Germain this term after initially making the grade at Monaco. Mourinho now wants to add the forward to his ranks to take United back to the top of the table. Red Devils bosses are prepared to splash out up to £222m (€250m) on Mbappe at the end of the season. United make big decision 11:30: Manchester United have reportedly decided NOT to chip in for fans' tickets for February's visit to Sevilla. The La Liga giants are charging £89 and £133 for entry to the Champions League last 16 clash in Spain. And fans had hoped United would subsidise that cost which has been deemed outrageous by many. The Daily Mail claim United do not want to set a precedent in case of other ticket prices being hiked up though. The Red Devils are likely to get in touch with UEFA over the matter.

Collymore makes demand 10:20: Manchester United MUST put up more of a fight against Manchester City in the future. That's the demand of former Liverpool star Stan Collymore, who's bemoaned this season's title race. "In the immediate future, I hope that Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal can, at the very least, string the season out for three of four more months at least," he wrote for the Mirror. "Because the last thing we need is Manchester City’s coronation in January or February. "That’s the way its heading at the moment and with City’s money it’s hard to see when and where their dominance will end." Liverpool advice wanted 09:40: Manchester United want to speak to Liverpool about how best to protect their fans in Spain in February. That's according to the Daily Mail, who say the Red Devils are keen to avoid a repeat of the incidents Reds fans had with Seville police. United travel to Spain in the new year to take on Sevilla in the first knockout round of the Champions League. And they want Liverpool's advice to ensure their fans do not suffer at the hands of Spanish officers. Fellaini offer 08:55: Marouane Fellaini has been offered a take-it-or-leave-it £150,000-a-week deal to stick with Manchester United beyond the summer. The Belgian has so far refused to put pen to paper on fresh terms with his contract expiring at the end of June 2018. Roma and Besiktas have shown a keen interest in getting him on-board if he quits United on a free. Jose Mourinho wants Fellaini to stay at Old Trafford though and United have now tabled a deal which would see his pay rise by £30,000 a week.

"But we need to keep going and, from (Christmas Eve), rest and think about the next game - obviously with the will of finishing the game with a much better feeling."

United's players looked ashen-faced as they traipsed onto the bus at Leicester, where they were on course for a comeback win after Mata's first top-flight brace since March 2015 cancelled out Jamie Vardy's opener.

The visitors had a number of chances to put the game to bed, but a lack of killer instinct - an all common theme last season - cost them maximum points.

Mourinho criticised his side's "childish" display after what felt like a pre-Christmas defeat for United.

"We didn't kill it - and we should have killed it," Mata said. "It's easy to say now.

"If we instead of drawing win at the end, we would have been saying that it was a fantastic game, that we came back and we did the most difficult thing which is to score twice after they went ahead.

"But that's football, you know, and in the last second they put the ball into the box and they scored.

"But we have the feeling that we should have killed the game before.

"It feels like a defeat. We get a point but it feels like a defeat because we were so close to winning and we had a chance to kill the game.

"They were with one less player (after Daniel Amartey was sent off) so it feels like a defeat."

United will still be without a string of first-team players as they look to get back to winning ways.

Michael Carrick and Maroaune Fellaini have been ruled out of the festive period, while Antonio Valencia has been struggling with a hamstring injury of late.

Eric Bailly is sidelined after ankle surgery and an unspecified injury meant versatile full-back Matteo Darmian missed the draw at Leicester, where Chris Smalling received a knock late in proceedings.

Manchester United salvaged a point against Burnley thanks to Jesse Lingard.

Jose Mourinho's men were 2-0 down at half time and two goals from substitute Lingard earned a point, but it is another disappointing result for United.

Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw started but Chris Smalling, Anthony Martial and Antonio Valencia missed out through injury.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic also started but his partnership with Romelu Lukaku was far from a success and the Swede was hooked at half time.

United were behind within three minutes to an Ashley Barnes strike and matters were made worse when Steven Defour netted with a free kick midway through the first half.

Mourinho took drastic action at the break by bringing on Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo.

Lingard proved his worth again but United were unable to find a crucial third goal to earn all three points and will hope for better against Southampton on Saturday.

Manchester United have opened talks with Bordeaux over a move for Brazilian forward Malcom, according to reports.

Scoring 18 goals in 76 games, Malcom has become a key player for Ligue 1 club Bordeaux since signing from Corinthians in 2016.

The 20-year-old, who plays for Brazil’s youth teams, has attracted attention from a number of European clubs and Arsenal are also said to have sent scouts to monitor his progress.

But Manchester United are leading the race to sign Malcom and are working on a deal to bring him to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

It is claimed Jose Mourinho, who is keen to strengthen his squad, views Malcom as one of the best young prospects in Europe.

United hope to land his signature and immediately allow him to continue his development at Bordeaux by sending him back on loan.

The French club value their star man at more than £50million but United believe a fee of around £33m represents a fair amount.
